I was in the middle of such a storm today on a scooter........H E LL
Going to redownload....
EDIT :
Works fine now .......... even with WPI (5.4)
Great And just as expected
erik, I'm currently partially rewriting the Finisher to allow detailed debug logs and at teh same time I'm making the code easier to maintain. Currently you can't do much, except for just waiting or clicking the ads like a fool.
I will post the progress here, also when I've send the new Finisher out to the testing team.
A similar bug has been fixed in the past. It's definitely not a feature though
I will try to reproduce it ASAP.
Recompiled and uploaded. Darn lightning storm here in Belgium slowed me down, with large hailstones and boatloads of rain...
Yesterday I went helping at a party, but I was somewhat unlucky...
It was a very crowded party, and I was helping at serving drinks. At a given moment I was taking a new bottle of cola out of a fridge, and while doing so I managed to get stuck with the top of my hand into a sharp steel border. I thought it was just a cut, so continued for a couple of minutes, but the bleeding did not stop. Apparently it went at least 4mms deep, perhaps deeper. The advantage is that it's just a cut and therefore I did not lose a large chunk of skin. The disadvantage is that I lost relatively much blood: I went outside to get some air, started sweating and became dizzy, went inside for a cola, went outside again and fainted... <insert hole in memory here> Two people are helping me to get up, immediately noticing that I've stitched myself.
One of the organisators drove me to the doctor. Waited there for 20 minutes or so, then the doctor arrived and started helping me. Half an hour, several blinding lights, 6 tiny anesthetic shots and 5 stitches later I was being brought home.
If that ain't bad luck!
I won't be able to code alot the next week, since I have to let my hand rest (it's my right hand, my good hand btw) as much as possible and I'll already have to use it enough at school. Table tennis is also a no-go...
Will keep you updated!
Yes, but there's a size limit on the amount of drivers you can load at textmode, which prevents me from loading ALL drivers. Check the dosnet.inf file after slipstreaming DriverPack MassStorage text mode for details.
Wrong source got compiled. That's the partially rewritten Finisher I've been working on. Don't understand how I could have compiled the wrong source, but it did happen, your log proves so.
Will recompile and reupload.
Delete the QSC directory for DriverPack Chipset and try again. (You can leave QSC enabled.) I think it got corrupted somehow.
1) What is SIIG? It's just a brand, right? And it actually is a SATA controller? Please tell me the full product name so I can verify that a driver that supports this device is present.
2) The DriverPacks Finisher automatically runs during the first login, which is in your case during the logging in into safemode. Nothing odd about that.
3) I'd suggest that you reinstall your system, keeping the SIIG card in its new location.
Moved to DriverPack MassStorage.
That setupapi.log is really crucial to solve this issue. Any chance you can do another test with JUST Windows XP and the DriverPacks, nothing else? I'm afraid I won't be able to solve the issue otherwise.
And I still find it strange that your HDD is not detected, it really should be. Can you please post your DPs_BASE.log? And could you please verify in your BIOS that the Promise 378 controller is not disabled?
Ah. You can slipstream the DriverPacks into the same Windows installation files, over and over and over again, previously slipstreamed files are automatically deleted and original files are automatically recovered!
After clicking "detaled list of supported devices" http://www.driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/ … .php?pag=m opens an empty list. The same with http://www.driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/ … .php?pag=l
I know, I'm working on that
The BSOD appears for only an instant before the system reboots. I don't know how to get this info. Is there a way?
I quickly made an FAQ topic about that.
Import this registry tweak at T-12 (through cmdlines.txt).
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl]
"AutoReboot"=dword:00000000
Normally I follow up also the issues for which the owners already have found a work-around, but seemingly I lost track of this one: sorry for the late reply.
I'm sure we'd have found the exact cause, but it seems you're happy with the work-around. If you would still be able to post the HWID of your SiS GPU, that could be very useful if somebody stumbles upon the same issue in the future. And if you'd like to track the exact cause, you're welcome to, of course.
EDIT: closed due to lack of a response.

Can you post the exact error code that was shown in the BSOD?
I am rewriting this specific part so that it is more straightforward, and more resistant to possible flaws.
Bâshrat the Sneaky wrote:And it's really Silicon Image you should blame, not me.
I do not blame you!!
I have to ask someone, and you are The Man
I just wanted to explain that clearly
and... whehehe
I don't have an answer to that, as I cannot test all those combinations myself. I'm sorry.
And it's really Silicon Image you should blame, not me. The Silicon Image drivers have always worked just fine, until recently. Because no one has succeeded in finding a true solution, I will probably revert to the older drivers.
Floppy, I don't see what that topic has to do with this issue?
