Topic: [CLOSED] My solution For Si3112r and Ati

Sorry for my poor english.

I had already given this solution on the msfn forum. Work fine for me with 'Silicon Image SiI 3112 SATARaid Controller' and 'ATI 4379 Serial ATA Controller'

TXTSETUP.SIF

[SourceDisksFiles]

REM ati3112r.sys = 1,,,,,,4_,4,1,,,1,4

[HardwareIdsDatabase]

change all ATI3112r by si3112r

[SCSI.Load]
REM ati3112r = ati3112r.sys,4

[SCSI]

REM ati3112r = "Silicon Image 3112 SATARaid Controller for ATI chipsets"

DOSNET.INF

REM for all d1,ati3112r.sys

delete ati3112r.sys in I386 directory

that all

Re: [CLOSED] My solution For Si3112r and Ati

And what if i have systems that dont use the raid version?

Re: [CLOSED] My solution For Si3112r and Ati

ati3112r supports all ATI-chipset-specific SiI3112r controllers.

Did you test your workaround on a SiI3112r controller on a ATI chipset based motherboard, zorro?

Hey

Iam going to test this out n my Asus A7N8X-E  mobo.
A question.... ifa mobo  (Diff. from Asus A7N8X-E)   needs the ati3112r.sys..what happens.?
Does it grab another driver due to the changes aplyed here?

Re: [CLOSED] My solution For Si3112r and Ati

Hey

Ok, I may be dead wrong but I have to ask.

Is the problem;
1) combination of SiI 3112 and  ATI Display Drivers, instaled on the same mobo.
or
2)The SiI 3112 sata driver, it does not matter what kind of GPU you have.

Because I took out the ATI gpu card, replaced it with a NVIDIA GeForce 6800, and the WinXP DVD instaled just fine.

This was on the PC with Asus A7N8X-E ,that always BSOD'd with 0x000007B.

@Bâshrat the Sneaky
""replace the si3112r.sy_ in your I386 directory "" did not work.
I will never cross post again!!!

Have you  seen this;

Floppy, I don't see what that topic has to do with this issue?

Re: [CLOSED] My solution For Si3112r and Ati

ok....
Iam just bit frustrated that I can't make a cd that instals on all of my 5 PC's...
Do you have a answer to (1) and (2) in my previous post?

Re: [CLOSED] My solution For Si3112r and Ati

I don't have an answer to that, as I cannot test all those combinations myself. I'm sorry.

And it's really Silicon Image you should blame, not me. The Silicon Image drivers have always worked just fine, until recently. Because no one has succeeded in finding a true solution, I will probably revert to the older drivers.

Re: [CLOSED] My solution For Si3112r and Ati

Hey

Has anything changed regarding the Silicon Image"problem, withe the relase of DPs_BASE_6.09?

Re: [CLOSED] My solution For Si3112r and Ati

Does this method work? Bashrat can you confirm this?
And what if you dont have a ATI chipset ?

Re: [CLOSED] My solution For Si3112r and Ati

I'm afraid not, Floppy.

And muiz, as you can see, it did at least not work for one other person: Floppy. So no, this is no workaround.

Re: [CLOSED] My solution For Si3112r and Ati

Believed you would like that one....

The  "Silicon Image" thing will be your "old faithful" for a while.....;)

Re: [CLOSED] My solution For Si3112r and Ati

sad
yes, old faithful triggered a BSOD on me on a live test today.
base6.12, with mass 6.08 was tried on a machine that has sil 3132 and a jmicron inside.
And it failed.

funny thing is, when I used the slipstreamed disc I made in september (base 6.086 with mass 6.08 and chipset 6.091), that this installed just fine. The silicon raid tool showed in CP..

I had better pull the drive, and get the setup error log off it.. and maybe see what triggered it.

I'll test the mass 6.11 beta in there after that.

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.
