To my knowledge those switchable video card are not working in Win XP because there was no driver developed for them.

It's probably a preblem linked to the win kernel (not shure)

If someone has better explanation, I would like to know a little bit more about it.

I am not supprized to read that you had problems with a seagate drive.

I experienced a lot of special bugs with Seagate drives in my shop.

Hope you will get a new and good drive from them.

Your problem seems to be windows as you said it is working ok under DOS.

Make a fresh windows install and it should be ok.

I'd like to add that I also install win XP french version on most of my installation and that I have succes with 60% of nvidia and 90% of ati for the laptops.
For the desktop it's nearly 100% suicces.
Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think it's a question of language.

I know that Nvidia are tricky and I think you're doing a very nice job due to the hard part from their side.

I hope that help clarify the situation a little bit.

If I can be of any help, let me know.

I'm presently moving my computer shop and it's a lot of job let me tell you.

But once done I hope I will have more time for driverpacks.

As I have to install Windows XP Home and Pro 20 to 25 time a week, I think it could be helpfull to be a member of the testing team.

As I learned in the pass what kind of info are helpfull to the members who works on the packs, I could be helpfull to you as you could be helpfull to me.

Being a french guy, I know my english is not very good but good enough to communicate.

I work in computers for many years an love to do it.

I would also like to be helpfull to a group like yours because I like and apreciate the job you do.

All together we could make a better job but everyone alone on his side is mutch more difficult.

As I don't know the responsable person for this kind of request, I hope someone could help me or redirect my request.

Hi,

I'm trying to download the latest graphics driver since this morning bu I always get this message from the server :

   Service Temporarily Unavailable

   The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems.
   Please try again later.

Is this caused by overload or another problem ?

According to my experience with the laptops having HD audio and modem, we must install the audio driver first and the modem after.

That way no problem but the other way BSOD and all kind of instabilities.

This is only my experience after a lot of win XP installation on laptops originally with vista.
