You can still download the DriverPacks by clicking the "Downloads" menu at the top of the main site. wink

And finally, we need to look into ways to generate more income, to be able to continue running this project. A first and obvious step, is to cease the ability to download/update the Windows 2000/XP/2003 DriverPacks from within the DriverPacks BASE for free. In the first phase, the downloads will stop working, thereby increasing our number of visitors. In the second phase, we are considering to offer users the ability to pay for the comfort of downloading/updating from within DriverPacks BASE. Users who want this would then support us financially. And those who don't really need this (and don't want to or can't support us), can still download the DriverPacks from the website.!

Updated \S2 with .inf from that package (same version).

Yup, cdob is awesome! smile

Same issue here in the XP driver packs version 10.09.  Same hardware IDs as posted above. The card is based on the Atheros 9285 chipset.

So what driver works for you then?  Let me know and I'll have a look at it.

I deal with lots of Soundmax/Realtek installs and its always the same thing, installed in device mgr but "No audio device" is reported by windows.

That more than likely does not apply to this thread.  This thread is for the realtek overlap bug (conflict between driver versions).
There will always be duplicated HWIDs between Soundmax/Realtek but we won't know there's a problem unless you report the HWID of the affected machine.
So create a new thread with the info required from this post.

Well whenever the new version of 7zip comes out of beta then maybe we'll consider it. tongue
But then we may have to rewrite our un7zip.exe utility.

Well I think the Intel RST 9.??6.??0.??1014 that supports your HWID is broken.  I've been playing with the new RST 10.0.0.1046 with great success.  I'll be putting it in a nightly soon for more testing.
Please be patient.

Because BartPE was written WITHOUT support for those DriverPacks.
Why would you want sound in PE?  It's a Pre-installation Environment.

Editing all the .inf files is a LOT of work.  And what if you replace the drivers in a folder with a newer set which alters the HWID list (add/remove) then you'll have to go through and uncomment the HWIDs that are missing.  I (and many of the team) have been working under the policy of leaving the .inf (and driver signing) intact whenever possible and only editing the HWIDs to prevent a problem-causing conflict.  Once a problem is reported, then we break driver-signing if there is no other solution.  Sure, there are loads of duplicates then, but Windows setup does a pretty good job of sorting them out on its own.
That's just my policy, but it's worked for us in the past.

For now, periodically check the website for changed DriverPacks.  I for one do not have any new vista/win7 packs in build stages.  So nothing from me for this month.  Maybe next month.

Once we get a torrent tracker online and updated, that will be the best way.

Forget about PE for a moment, What about a normal disc-based install.  Do any of the test packs work in that scenario?

Isn't that what I said about three posts above? wink

Well first off that Asus model doesn't have a nforce 430 chip but instead has a nforce 630a chip.
http://uk.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=fh … templete=2

Strange, as that driver is the original one recommended by nvidia for that model, but is not newest.
Both nvidia and Asus recommend v15.24 & 15.45 nforce packages
Maybe the clue is in how the RAID was created.  How did you build the array?  What software?  Was the RAID built on THAT board, or a different controller (yes, I read the original post)?
Typically RAID arrays only work properly on the exact controller they were created on.

Could you also try test pack #16 (from newer 15.45)?

Also, for some reason nvidia requires a registry entry set in the hive before the disc is created.  We haven't yet determined the best way to set that.

Well, only the folder wnt5 is created with this particular test pack because no other drivers are loaded, only the one nvidia folder.  The tests were really designed for normal disc-based installs, not BartPE.  But creating an empty wxp folder within the UBCD4Win\plugin\DriverPacks.net\MassStorage folder before building the PE disc should get rid of the error.  Maybe adding a w2k3 folder also would help.  I think those paths are hard-coded into the UBCD4win app.

Can you try test pack #13 from this post? http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=4742
#13 will only work with your controller in RAID mode.
#14 will only work with your controller in IDE mode.

Yeah, I figured that would be the case. [T] has been in there since last year, but it has caused problems for others as well.
The key here is that yours DOES work with [I4], but the install is somehow getting confused and using [T] even though the HWID is not a match.

Well that's odd.  test#4 also commented out some competing HWIDs (sections [T], [L6] & [L1] )
Your HWID (PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27C5&CC_0106) was the only one moved to section [I2], the rest stayed at [I3].
Hmmm.
@Dumpydooby, can you comment/delete sections [T], [L6] & [L1] from the nightly 10.10.03 .ini and retest?

I noticed one driver that was present in the MSI blob but not in any DriverPacks.
It's in the "Filter" folder but it looks to be only for Vista/Win7.  Other than that, no other differences I could see.

Can we move the Mass Storage discussion over to this thread: http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 789#p40789
We've got two identical discussions running in parallel. wink
@dumpydooby, can you try the test packs in the above link to the other thread?

I'm not sure what's going on with the MSI Radeon board.  It should work because it's supported by the 10.2 legacy catalyst drivers.

OK, I've gone through the drivers from the MSI site and they don't support the HWIDs you posted...at all. sad
Well, the only HWID supported is the SMBUS driver from 2007, which is already in the DriverPack Chipset.
Strange.

I can confirm that 10.9 and 10.6 do not work with it. I'll build a disc with 10.10.3 right now and try that. [edit- 10.10.3 did not work either]

What I do know is that version 6.2.0.2002 of the iaStor driver works with it. version 7.8.0.1012 does not. version 8.9.2.1002 does not. version 8.6.0.1007 is compatible in textmode, but BSODs after first reboot post-installation. version 7.0.0.1020 is untested; it might work.

I don't have access to v6.2.0.2002.  But have you tried moving your HWID to the [i] .ini header?

[i]
; 5.5.0.1035
ms_count=1
ms_1_deviceName="Intel 82801ER/6300ESB SATA RAID"
ms_1_tag="iastor"

ms_1_isBusExtender=false
ms_1_exc_disableIfOS="w2k"

It's an even older version, but should work.

OK, I have work to do. wink
Incidentally, have you tried the Intel RST 10 beta drivers for dpms?  They should be a drop-in replacement for \I4\

You shouldn't need any specialized touchpad drivers with PE.  The system will just use the generic mouse driver.  It's PE, you're not going to need advanced scrolling or multi-touch are you?

OK, well I think I know what happened with the system in the first post.  None of the supporting chipset HWIDs are found in the chipset or graphics DriverPacks.  I'll have to look into that.
Since the audio chip is supported by DriverPack Sound A (generic realtek), I can only assume that it didn't work because of the missing chipset drivers.
Unfortunately the download links don't work from your first post.  And I can't find any compatible AMD drivers for those HWIDs.

The second Gateway notebook should definitely work with the newer dpms 101003.  But let us know if it doesn't.
