What was your MD5 hash and size on your download?
works for me...
did you try the vista packs?
A simple adjustment to DP_Inst_Tool.cmd should be all that is neccessary.
The names for the packs are not the same .
I just got the latest DDK (GRMWDK_EN_7600.ISO)
I was right we are using 2.0.1 and the latest is 2.1.0
I will have to test it and check the license to see if we can update to 2.1
(I hope the newer version is still a redistributable file!)
If so then SAD for Vista and for Win7 is 99% done
it is not very complicated... and you have a working example .
you should just be able to put the extr4acted drivers in a subfloder of dpinst.exe with the command line i use and the xml file i provide... test... (optional check to see if newer version of dpinst exists)
You should not use a slipstreamed source for BartPE. You must use a CLEAN source.
SP3 has several known issues with BartPE... It is recomended to use a clean unmodified XP SP2 (or Win 2k3)
moved to BartPE section of our forum.
Try this... download UBCD4Win, build from clean unmodified XP SP2 source, Test and report.
Do NOT make any additional changes... UBCD4Win includes DriverPacks mass storage.
If it fails; Try updating the mass storage pack in the Plugin\Driverpacks.net\BASE\Driverpacks folder (tutorial in my signature) "Config" DriverPacks BASE from PEBuilder plugins page and rebuild. If that also fails then, post your HWIDs (tool in my signature).
If the UBCD4Win build works then you have established that your process / steps are not valid.
Welcome, and Thanks for posting
Jeff
PS Useing the NTdetect (or any file) from another OS, and or Hacking one, is a License violation, we do not approve of nor support such actions.
But it does show you have done your homework . this substitution is generaly not neccessary and if you are in a position where you feel you must do this then most of the time the better thing to do is to use your own licensed copy of Win 2k3 server for your build.
open the pack
delete all folders you do not want
delete the Packs .ini file
repack with 7zip, remember to INCLUDE the \D\ part when you repack.
Please take a look around in our universal imaging section of the forum.
the prefered way to add DriverPacks mass storage is with Galapo's OffLine SysPrep. THat should solve your issues.
Welcome to DriverPacks and have a great day.
at my house it is just 7600.
winver yeilds NT 6.1 7600
RegEdit yeilds HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\
CurrentBuildNumber = 7600
BuildLabEx = 7600.16385.amd64fre.win7
me too
i think it's 7600
Well done! Excellent details and description!
did you try the f6 method? Do that first. once you have the correct driver (tested and known good) then add it exactly like you described... report back and we will get it added to the next release
Thanks for reporting!
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=3476
Jake wrote that and its quite comprehensive... have you tripped over it yet?
I know that there is just a HUGE amount of info here
and I am sometimes reminded or it
when even I can't find something,
something that I just know is here somewhere!
So... if you haven't already seen that and the two or three in the FAQ
Just ask if you need something and I will lead you to the possable solutions.
I did... in the other thread... I think the device you are haveing trouble with is not the intel device...
Now that is what I am talking about! you got #6 covered - outstanding description, Clear and concise, I could definately duplicate your process. (#6 from read before you post in my signature)
could you help a little more with some of the things in #4 and #5
what are the HWIDs (tool in my sig)?
What are the BASE and DriverPacks versions (hint your DPs_BASE.log will include the pack versions )
please help us to help you! (you are off to an excellent start!)
PS did you try slimmed down + Factory + DriverPacks w/no mass
thinking
your hwids - 1520

it looks like that ich9 is installed... ?
the other one looks like it has issues...
PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_8130: Mass Storage Controller
as near as i can tell that is a O2 Micro, Inc HWID vendor number.
I downloaded most of the dell drivers for the Vostro 1520 here http://search.dell.com/results.aspx?c=u … p;~ck=anav
but i did not find that HWID in any of the infs i tried... do you have any recovery media for these boxes? sometimes the restore disc will contain drivers, often for multiple OS's. IE i Vista recovery disc often contains XP drivers .
I was not able to determine what that mass storage controler is for - either the DVD or a CardReader is my guess?
the version of dpinst for vista i think is newer than the one we use
but the usage is the same.
OH... I hate to step in here... but i am going to!
You can do this, I would prefer you helped us find the bug and lets just get it fixed .
first do all of your nLite stuff including your working text mode solution...
Second and lastly add DriverPacks DO NOT select mass storage textmode on the selection screen.
(you may test leaving the mass pack selected but if it is a problem de-select that too.
Again we would prefer you submitted your logs and HWIDs for a supported solution.
PS have you tried the latest nightly Mass Storage pack?

Notice the driver in I5 IS Rejected verses the installed one...
According to that I5 is NOT a better driver for your hardware...
It selected the BEST MATCH for your PC .
The 'best match' is not always the the 'newest'... OR... Newer is not always better .
Testing the theory...
Install the I5 driver manually.
Reboot.
Run SAD.
Reboot.
See if the driver is reverted.
Report.
DriverPacks is designed to be used WITH the included drivers... I'm sure that is not going to change .
Search MS for DPInst.exe
There you will find all that is needed, I did.
Read my FAQ for SAD to get started.
And look at the command line i use in DP_Inst_Tool.cmd for dpinst.exe and the XML settings file i include.
Please let me know if DPINST supports win7 too... If not what does?
pre or post SP drivers should not matter... DPInst.exe should only install the drivers that are appropriate.
DriverPacks is designed to be slip-streamed into your install.
Use DriverPacks BASE for NT5 platforms -IE 2k, 2k3, and XP. (tutorial link in my signature).
If you do that all your hardware will be supported and updated during the install.
Same for the Vista packs except use the Vista Tool to add them.
Win 7 is not done yet...
The driver packs are progressive, all you should ever need is the latest one of each type.
The older ones are available for reference or in case of a BUG.
IE "Hey the old one worked and the new one don't. But I deleted my old one, where can i find it. "
If you are looking to create a Search-able ODD disc (Optical Disc Drive. IE CD/DVD disc) then check the FAQ for SAD (Stand Alone Drivers) and Search the forum for other hints and known good techniques.
Hint 1: you can create a search-able ODD with DriverPacks BASE. Create a SAD folder using M1 and all packs then burn to ODD media.
Hint 2: you can also use DriverPacks BASE to create a SAD folder (M1) with ONE small pack like CPU and then extract the rest of the packs and not have to wait for them to be cabbed however this will not fit on a CD... It takes a while to cab them and if you're using a DVD the compression and extra time that is required is totally not necessary.
Unzipping them to disc is fine if you manually want to update each driver. that is just a lot of work .
SAD includes DPInst.exe and a Script to update all the drivers automatically.
Simply run the DP_Inst_Tool.cmd script and take a nap .
Please take the time to read the tutorials and FAQs. We have been here over five years and just about ANYTHING you can think of has already been extensively discussed here somewhere.
