Topic: How do I extract DP_Mass_Storage textmode Only?

Look, it may sound stupid but I have a complicated machine (An Itautec, Via VTXXXX, With TWO Different SATA/IDE/RAID Controllers) and BASE M2 or M1 don't Work All the times (Sometimes it get the disc, sometimes not), since i have 9 machines like that on work I had tried on 3 different ones and still didn't solved the mistery?!? Anyway NLited Drivers (This stupid Machines Don't have floppy drivers, and i don't even know if we can put two floppys in sequence) DO WORKS! so my solution will be this one (if you have a better idea i'm all ears!):

Integrate the DP_Mass_Storage TEXTMODE part via nlite, preferably avoiding viaide.sys, symc810.sys and symc8XX.sys errors
then integrate DP M1 or M2 and be happy with my coffee while the cd installs OS, DRIVERS and APPS...

so i want to take off the DP ONLY textmode Drivers, to integrate with NLITE, is that POSSIBLE?! a HOW TO will be apreciated?

please keep it simple i'm quite stupid when it comes to drivers way of function...

That's not possible.  Nlite is not smart enough to handle DriverPacks.  You must integrate DriverPacks using DriverPacks BASE.  A tutorial is in my signature.
Do NOT use nlite for ANYTHING driver related.

Re: How do I extract DP_Mass_Storage textmode Only?

OH... I hate to step in here... but i am going to!

You can do this, I would prefer you helped us find the bug and lets just get it fixed wink.

first do all of your nLite stuff including your working text mode solution...

Second and lastly add DriverPacks DO NOT select mass storage textmode on the selection screen.
(you may test leaving the mass pack selected but if it is a problem de-select that too.

Again we would prefer you submitted your logs and HWIDs for a supported solution.
PS have you tried the latest nightly Mass Storage pack?

Re: How do I extract DP_Mass_Storage textmode Only?

Look thats what i'm doing - if you find something wrong or have a better idea of how it could be done just say it! -

Starting with a plain WinXP SP0 ISO

- Extract the iso with Winrar
- Open NLite
- Integrate SP3
- Integrate ADDONS:
   - .netFramework 1.1, 2.0, 3.5
   - MS Office Lite
   - Compatibility pack for office 2007
   - Mozilla Firefox 3.5
   - Adobe Reader 9.2 Lite
   - Flash Player
   - Flash Active X
   - Shockwave Player
   - Nero 7 Lite
   - Winrar
   - KLite Mega
   - YZ's Dock
- Slim Down the CD, Make Tweaks, And Add themes
- Run BASE with custom DP (with or without the DP_MASS)
- Make the ISO
- Burn in Nero (16x)
Try on that PC - NO Sucess, NO HD!
Try on normal PC - Looks Fine!

I've tried redo everything a few times, before asking for help (i'm pretty stubborn tongue), and that are the combinations results:

Plain Slimmed down + Factory drivers = OK
Plain Slimmed down + Factory drivers + DP = SOME UNKNOWN ERROR, OK SOMETIMES
Plain Slimmed down + Factory drivers + ADDONS = OK
Plain Slimmed down + Factory drivers + ADDONS + DP = OK SOMETIMES
Plain Slimmed down + DP = NO HD
Plain Slimmed down + ADDONS + DP = I Got a flashy bluescreen before partition screen then NO HD

there is nothing left but think that's a problem on the DP right?

by the way i downloaded DriverPacks again from site, re-burned the ISOs, redid everything from scrach! and the disks that works on the old computers, in the new machines (that pesky Itautec Ones) don't get me an HD where i should put the OS, the newer discs still working on the older machines!

PS: for some ODD reason whe i use full DP i sometimes get doubled devices (usually sound, mouse, sometimes LAN) on device manager, for that reason, and the fact i'm using CDs, i use slimmed custom DriverPacks, but the full DP-Mass itself should getme an HD don't?. sad

almost forgot: i will try nightly...
and i want to help you guys even if is just a bit... you can't imagine how much times you saved me... but it's quite urgent (i have to do it before december-05, including 25 machines to format, 09 of them are these problematic ones) thats why the nlite solution...

17:00 PM Here! thats it for today, see you guys tomorrow...

Re: How do I extract DP_Mass_Storage textmode Only?

Now that is what I am talking about! you got #6 covered - outstanding description, Clear and concise, I could definately duplicate your process. big_smile (#6 from read before you post in my signature)

could you help a little more with some of the things in #4 and #5

what are the HWIDs (tool in my sig)?
What are the BASE and DriverPacks versions (hint your DPs_BASE.log will include the pack versions wink)

please help us to help you! (you are off to an excellent start!)

PS did you try slimmed down + Factory + DriverPacks w/no mass

Re: How do I extract DP_Mass_Storage textmode Only?

PS did you try slimmed down + Factory + DriverPacks w/no mass

nope! but i will! wink

HWIDs will take a little... i have to find one of that working trials to restart the machine, unless you guys have a linux version, or if the win version its known to work through wine...

BASE its 8.12.5, its there a newer one?
DP Versions... hum... mass its 9.01 i know by heart after downloading it several times...
the others i have to search... when you got ~70mb to integrate drivers, its difficult to don't make your own DP. DAMN SMALL CDs!
...thinking of it, i will download the packs and redo the custom to see if it works...

if i could i would returned the machines but its not my decision, just my PROBLEM! sad

thanks in advance!

PS: Where i find the Nightly vers... i'm not shure if my search it's correct cause i just find forum entries that mention them...
