quick note, this driver is most likely not critical during setup (as in; hard-drive not found), but the error must be fixed.

I'll do a silent NON-version change upload.

one can use ; to comment it out too

erm, when I did the TXT cleanup (removing all tabs and spaces) I did that to make it easily seen wether there was a carriage return where it did harm.
well, I just saw one just before "PCI\VEN_ bla bla C_0101" sad

yesterday I read something about QSC and 888111.
When QSC was used, it was slipped?
We did not get a log on that report, but I can do a run on a MSDN source for server 2003 sp2, and see what it does.

we are.
topic title says chip6.8 but we are in forum,
the chipset problem is crossing many versions,
I am GLAD I could HELP solve it.
Feedbak was crucial.
Had this been CLOSED then there were no solution, because I would never have seen this topic..
(no - not yet) and (never - later. Because it would have been mentioned again)

Ok, I do know what you mean too.
Man, a peer meet with Erik is crossforum but has to be possible for quick exchange.

And then, Chris has become one of our newest testers and networkmaestro will post importan data here.
Faik, networkmaestro knows more than I do.
We are lucky he posts.
do not close.

besides, I am a blonde..

have you tried the newer test packs posted by Mr Smartepants in graphics forum yet?

(a not so ) standard desktop (asus agp with an Xtreme CPU)
card NV FX5200 installed cool

Abit mobo, with TNT in a PCI..
installed cool

Same abit mobo, with agpx8, Ti-4300 OK
a fly by box with MSI NX7300GT, OK

no laptops tested

Hi,
I spent a good part of a week of holidays on trying to fix outstanding issues, and there was little time to test fixes.
We are shortstaffed on testers.
I apologise for the typoes what made Mass-Storage fall flat.
The few guys doing detective work on what had suddenly gone wrong in mass storage revealed there were older undetected errors and I thought "We need to have a Quiz Show".
I thought. "If one comma can get your attention, why not USE that idea."
Put up test pack, Make an error, let guys test the works, and debug a few others in the process..

Is that a good thing to do on publicized DriverPacks?
NO.

But.
This is what a testing team is about.
We are short staffed in testing team.
I noticed People whom modify the packs so as to make them work, and some detectives, and we had never heard from them before the killer comma happened..
Their feedback was helpful. They can be testers, they can later on also become team members.
(To truly do what they already do.)
I am hopeful.

Oh the news?
a 707 of Mass storage, Sound a and b, were released.
We hopefully survive the fourth of July.

Stiertje is one of the people that still had problems, and the driver he says works has NO specific sub/Rev info in HWID for that card.
(not Integrated in mobo. It's a card..)

While I was trying to fix the issue, I got interrupted by real life, and later on a 'half fix' got uploaded because  the fix was in two files, and one of them was not even uploaded and the other was what I had when I got interupted, not what I had when I finished..

After the BIG typo, Krell mentioned that ''typo'' Which I knew was intended for Stiertje.
(erm, Krell did not spot no such INF had the HWID.)  and I have then done some more work, more checking, and 7.07 came along.

All in all, I am ashamed of the rush jobs I published.
The reason why  those rush jobs even got online, is that fixes were needed, and testers are in short supply.
I had the time, because this was ONE week of holiday I had for . The good accident happened, a critical typo.
Mass Storage fell flat.
I am lucky because it got the detectives out. And that typo then got guys to look at stuff and tell us about it, what actually revealed things that had been there for quite a while.

All these things/fixes are in 7.07.
Those detectives, they could be testers.
It was not my intention to make such a mess (e.g. a comma kils DriverPacks.)
But, you know, it were not the first time guys tried to fix it and got "backfire."
It may sound boastful, but I tried to fix a few as a return of favour, and think I done more than a few.

Sooner or later, there will be a top twenty, then a a hard look by members, and then we will have to decide.

When are the team going to select our top twenty?

One idea that is worth a consideration, is a animated logo, where more than one descriptive slogan is in.
(the searchbot stuff optimizing is probably done in other metatags, but a nice none-static slogan, hey... why not?)

Hi
was this with method 1?

Stephan?
Welcome to DriverPacks

This topic is almost nine months old, and I see this bumped up.
Can you provide a link to a driver that DOES work for you?

We can work with guesses, but we don't like to mess up.
(EDIT>  almost added a long explanation of how duplicate HWIDs cause misery.. I hope you understand that we need good info before we can act.)

I know this is seemingly off topic, but I want to have fast ways to check bugs when I make changes to an INF or INI.
Anybody can condiser me a dolt, but a forum which says we cannot have quick exchange of "forumwide related" tidbits in a topic where peers are active, is not a friendly forum.

I've attribb'd all files now as well.  NO LUCK.

Does it show up when YOU did that?
IF SO, then I think I have installed a program what changed core settings.
I'd like to know if it brings up txtsetup.sif in the list of files with such txt in it.
Otherwise, it is (imo) a bug.

Hi
the wait was long.
After looking at what was needed and doublechecking..
(them inis are like little snakes in the grass)
And fter checks for overlap, I did eventually wind up doing exactly the same.
(With just a descriptive foldername added).
I used the Dell620sigmatel driver which was in REQUESTS on FTP for a good while,  and end result is exactly what Fragbert has offered for so long.

Thanks for your patience.

does mass storage 707 fix the BSOD?

hi
suppose you still needed a floppy because there is no good txtmode driver, then OemPreinstall=Yes says you cannot use the floppy.

hi
I could use a licence.. and do this for free. Are you willing to buy me one?

I can find the file easily enough..

but, after a slipstream... when I put VMS in that search for TXT dialog box, and let it look for VMS (which ought be in txtsetup.SIF because slipstream added VMSCSI to it.) then it won't show me that txtsetup.sif has that bit of txt..

strange.

well, folder options are set to show all extentions, hidden maps and files, system files, and yet file-manager's file search (for txtstring in files) will not show matches (which I know exist) in that file.

if your XP does show reults, I may have to do a re-install.
(I've been messing on main rig too often lately since the test machines are in overhaul. (read, gutted))

Hi
I found VM-SCSI in MassStorage, so I'll update it.

Have updated for there are new test versions G-A and G-B.

dupe post,

hi
most txtsetup.OEM files are still in on purpose.
(a usable list of HWIDS.)
Because of overlap in HWIDs, some INF files have been changed, see. And when an update comes along I want to compare lists.

The debug files are indeed not referenced.
We can get rid of the X64, and vxd files, but the setuperr log will then show missing files.
(no big deal, but in extreme cases it could trigger a pop-up)

I stupidly deleted (shift-DEL) the folder where I had modified NV4_go.inf.. for a shorlived testpack. sad
---------------------
Adding the nvucode.bin and dell's (lightly modified for version references in the INF) did not work.
My conclusion on that is that it did not like the somewhat newer Nvidia files. sad
