Thank you for providing excellent details.
Yes, that's very odd that dpms 11.06 didn't work for you.  The driver that is selected during txtmode for your HWID is from the \I3 folder (version 7.8.0.1012).  The driver supplied by Gateway is in folder \I2 (7.0.0.1020) a much older driver.
Yet once XP is installed, the much newer driver is loaded:
#I063 Selected driver installs from section [iaStor_Install] in "c:\d\m\i8\iaahci.inf".

You could try it and report back.  It should have been fixed in 11.05.2 (& 11.06).  I'm working on 11.07 right now, so please tell us if 11.06 still doesn't work.
For the record, this is the only difference:
ich78id2.inf uses intelide.sys (original XP system file)
ich78ide.inf uses pciide.sys (original XP system file)

None of that mattered with these Helmi.  All the drives in the arrays were formatted EXT2 and were non-bootable anyway.  No MBR or GPT to worry about.
And they were mounted as network drives (\\server\share\folder).
I ordered a few SATA to ESATA/USB2 cases and a couple 2TB drives for them.  Then I'll have two backup drives I can swap out every weekend (keep the other at work) in case my house burns down or is burgled I'll still have my data.

Your HWID is supported by folder \N7 which is identical to the driver supplied by Gigabyte for your board.
Please open your %source\i386\txtsetup.sif and \i386\dosnet.inf and see if "nvgts7.sy" (no quotes) is listed in both.

We had a bad thunderstorm yesterday (bolt of lightening struck outside my office window!) and when I got home the power had gone out.
I have APC UPS units on my tower system and my Home Server (which saved my a$$ many times) but my NAS drives have an external power-brick and they weren't connected to the UPS.   My NAS is only used as a secondary backup to the WHS so it's loss is not that critical.  The drives appear to be OK, but because the NAS was RAID-1 and the drives married to the on-board controller, the data is gone.
I'm giving up on NAS and RAID. sad

So now I'm in the market to buy a new 3TB drive to use as my off-site backup drive.  (Backup on the weekends, then take the box to work during the week in case of theft/fire at the house).
I'll also be selling all the drives I was using in the NAS.  They're just not big enough for my needs.

3500MGB-Raid Pro - NAS (2-drive) (still works, but doesn't recognize drives. Makes high-pitched piezo even without drives installed)

I'm aware of the problem with the W7T.  Their previous build doesn't have that error.  I use batch files to integrate my drivers.

Yes, that's what I'm finding with the 275.33 drivers.  The 270.61 drivers do not have this problem.
I'll post an update soon.  Would you be willing to test to make sure it works?

Thanks for testing.  Nobody else has reported anything (good or bad) with this latest pack, so you're the first.
Your feedback is vital in fixing any bugs found.
I think there may be a problem with the 275.33 drivers as a whole, that's why I mentioned the XP bug also.
