It's in your Profile.  Just include the image's web-address in your signature with [ i m g ] [ / i m g ] less the spaces.  : )

That driver is WHQL'ed for NT6.1.  VistaSP1???  You did delete the Win7 folder before integration?

It's not DriverPacks policy to assist with non-DriverPack related issues (time is so precious), but i thought 'what the h*ll'!

One thing i neglected to mention (since i figure that it should 'go without saying'), is electronic cleanliness.  I use an air compressor setup @ about 80psi at a 10cm(4in) distance.  (Safety is critical & your own responsibility - fans can be driven to amputate a digit)  A soft-bristle nylon brush is effective at removing most residue.  It's amazing what glitches this detritus can cause due to stray-capacitance/electric-fields, high-impedance intermittents, and metal plague (including primarily Zinc & Tin).

Why not try to move it to another SATA port?  You do risk the time and effort to obtain success in the first place, though.

They don't always update the 'eye-candy' on a 'beta' BIOS.

Any luck obtaining a non-contact IR thermometer?  Even the 'cheap' models generally yield eye-opening results.  (esp. how biased BIOS can be)

I'm no 'driver genius'; the genuine Mensa alumni are the men & women that create these drivers and chips for the OEM's & VAR's.
Your request is easy, though.  Just look up the latest USB HWid list from either http://www.linux-usb.org/usb.ids or the 'USBdevs.txt' file within SIV here http://rh-software.com/downloads/siv.zip & search for your VendorID (VID) specifically 0CF3, then cross-reference the ProductID (PID).  This yields an "Atheros Communications, Inc." & "AR3011 Bluetooth (no firmware)", respectively. big_smile  Product Brief

Minimum requirement for licensing it w. Toshiba Bluetooth v9 is a USB\VID_0CF3&PID_3004 (Atheros HWid support seems to start with v9.00).

Windows Update has a driver http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/ … ed001d0b44 accessible with IE (WHQL'ed for Win7-8 only), that indicates it to be  USB\VID_0CF3&PID_3000.DeviceDesc="Atheros Valkyrie BootROM".  Are there any Bluetooth devices in your DeviceManager?  use SIV or Microsoft USBView - USB Connection Viewer via an OEM http://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Utilities/usbview.zip

I'm still a fan of XP & elated to see support continue through mid-decade.  Hardware access has it's advantages at times.

Do you not find xp64 limiting, or is xp64's notoriety based upon issues that are long a thing of the past?   DP's is actively purging xp64 drivers from the NT5 side of things. hmm

I've been a fan of Nir Sofer's constantly updated "HashMyFiles".  http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/hash_my_files.html

I like the look of Notepad++'s formatting, highlighting differences!  That's a pleasant sight for sore eyes. smile
ooo, 'free beer'! Doh!

Sherlock Holmes used Deductive Reasoning to solve his mysteries.  Similar approaches to electronic hardware yield increasing success rates.

One place to start may be the CMOS battery.  I use a small WiFi-finder that uses a CR2032 & has a low-battery warning.  It draws a fair bit of current for that style of battery, so weak cells (they can still measure 3 Volts) are easily eliminated.  This is advantageous with even new cells to eliminate 'duds'.  Weak CMOS batteries can yield unpredictable results.  Do not 'flash' anything with such a backup battery unless it is known to pass such a test.  After installing a good battery, short the 'ClearCMOS' jumper for 15 seconds with the P/S unplugged & drained, then remove it.

Leave the drive disconnected for now.  Ensure that you are using a known-good Power Supply (inspect for blown caps if unsure - power disconnected & drained - ask if unsure - if it's light as a feather, chuck it!).
Clock everything stock by loading the optimized defaults.  Do this immediately after flashing (if you do so - @ your own risk), too.  Run a 'memtest' on it until it passes (link in my sig.).
If you have a non-contact IR thermometer (if not, aim to; BIOS rarely tells the whole truth!), 'scan' the board (above & below if possible without blowing yourself up) for hotspots.  Take measurements about 1-4 cm from the target if possible.  When you find them (usually MOSFETs/chipsets/CPU in order of hottest to coolest) make note of any nearby capacitors (within that 'thermal-zone') & their apparent condition.  Mark them for future reference.  http://badcaps.net/pages.php?vid=5

Speaking of BIOS, are you using the latest 'Beta'?  http://www.gigabyte.com/products/produc … =2669#bios
http://www.gigabyte.com/webpage/20/HowT … hBIOS.html  I loathe WinFlashers.  I flash in SafeMode-DOS wherever possible using a small HDD in an enclosure.  Your results may vary.
(remember to load defaults & pass memtest before proceeding)

OK, now that you've solved any cooling issues (i hate the way stock coolers 'warp' a board over time with no backing plate) & are confidant in the system health, it is time to proceed with the HDD.
I note that the manual states that <Ctrl><F1> enables advanced options within the BIOS.  Ensure that SMART is enabled.  Stick with Auto for your drives (avoid Non-combined mode - your PATA optical device will disappear as it disables PATA - what a PITA!).

Consider the possibility that your optical device/disc are a source of error.  (Dirty discs - done dirt cheap!)

Now power down & get the manufacturer's tools for the drive.  Check the manufacturer's site for any speed-limiting jumper settings (shouldn't be necessary).  Backup any important data if necessary.  Use the manufacturer's tools (<F12> for Boot Menu or change Boot Order in BIOS) to zero the drive & run an advanced test (on another system if necessary).
If this drive still won't install properly (give the machine an extra fifteen minutes if the drive light remains lit during format), try another SATA drive or use GParted from a linux-live disc for confirmation (time to check warranty remaining on drive?).

I hope at least some of this helps, and that none of it hurts! smile

Just a 'heads up' before file deletions are committed.  A consequence of using MD5 checksums in comparison is the risk of collisions (two or more files with identical checksums, yet differing contents).  The odds of this occurring are remote; yet worth noting (& double-checking for).
One possible method of eliminating this factor is to recalculate sums for the matched .inf's utilizing SHA1 (used in .cat files) or preferably SHA256 (noted in nV - NT6.2 .cat files) for final comparison.
There may also exist some Vista drivers that have no equivalent (for HWid's) in either the All or Win7 folders.  I hold no examples of this before you presently, yet i must acknowledge the possibility. hmm

Those aforementioned 'apps' my have a very limited shelf-life from what i have recently heard.

A former Microsoft program manager was so frustrated with the user interface, he launched his own Fixingwindows8.com website. (as announced by PCworld)
One day later, this information was out-dated, as the website shut down (sadly, no help from the Wayback Machine). http://www.windows8update.com/2012/03/1 … shut-down/  It seems that the former program manager in question is currently a user-interface designer as properly announced by slashgear.

Others remain skeptical:  http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/03/20 … 8_october/
One thing that is becoming clearer, the ARM versions of Windows 8 will most likely be irrelevant to DriverPacks.

The drivers of these actual Driverpacks are based on the inofficial 15.56 sets, which recently were published by Gigabyte/Asus and natively do support MCP51, MCP61, MCP73, MCP78 and MCP79 chipsets.

You already include these (or better), do you not mr_smartepants?  Wouldn't hAqX0ne simply need to make a DriverPacks-integrated Windows XP Install CD to allow the install of either RAID or AHCI mode to be able to use the 11.1.0.43 drivers?

Ensure to backup any important data, first.

Both x86 & x64 Win8 v296.17 WHQL drivers are also available via OEM (for Win8 Consumer Preview only!).

The desktop Security Catalogs look more reasonable than that first Win8 driver link, a mix of sha1 & sha256.

The new release is more widely-available through WindowsUpdateCatalog now, although they claim Win8CP WHQL (it's actually Win7 in the Security Catalog & the claimed file-sizes are a tad inaccurate).  DriverVer = 03/06/2012, 9.18.12.9617 note: v296.17
