One hopes that Stamandster is OK, but his computer is not.

Still interested in your mod though.   It could be suggested that it be released as a tribute to the original author.
Apologies for not yet posting 3.2p; my setup is kind of akward at the moment.  I'll do so when i upload the last round of updates before the RC's.

" but if you let the machines sit until their batteries die, for some reason I could no longer boot the mirrored drives."

Surmising that would be because of the CR2032 BIOS battery.  That would nuke any BIOS settings, yet the drives should still contain the config data needed for the array.

If you do use any of the DriverPacks [Nightlies] for BartPE/UBCD4Win or to reinstall 2000/XP/2003 (NT5) on any systems with RAID or AHCI, please please post the basic HWID's (ie:  PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_24DF&CC_0106) whether it worked successfully or not.  I'd give my left nut (from car) for BartPE/UBCD4Win feedback!

It seems we both missed "Windows 0.1", which was available "preinstalled" on Radio Shack's old CoCo3.

The craziest 7 install i did on a nForce4 mod was where i needed a GRUB4Dos boot disc in order to install 7 on the nForce SATA RAID.  I miss those old "pencil-mark" chipset mods.  Sigh.

By the way, speaking of "warm and fuzzy"; did they manage to sequester that "nukular" waste from that insane waste pile fire near St. Louis?

It would seem that simply adding that HWID to the [I-9] section might hold some unpleasant surprises for Server2003 integrators.  A final solution may be to split the section, one for XP HWID's, and the other for 2003 HWID's.  That way RSTe is still available for Server2003 (supported til July 2015, BTW).

When i do my final round of testing for the RC's, i would like to test one of your solutions in addition to WinSetupFromUSB "head-to-head" with results made freely available for both camps in case improvements can be made to either or both projects.  Obtaining feedback for these nighlies has been difficult, if not for the wonderful few that have been kind enough to do so.  If i have to give some feedback on other projects to receive feedback on this project, i'm ready, willing and able.

What can i do to assist, and how do i get started?  Your web page is kind of confusing though loaded with info.
I have little fear that software will irreparably trash any of my systems short of damaging the firmware boot block (if i'm wrong, pls point out why).

Thank you again for those previous reports, Mr. Si!     smile

See the CoreBoot project.
Not for the faint of heart, or those unable to recover from a bad flash.

Noting that 2Gbit SPI Flash memories may be available.  Don't expect speeds to impress though compared to SSD's.
I wonder what would be worthwhile to have built into mobo firmware, though (VMWare???)
If only there were 8 lanes available to run 8 of those in parallel.

Thank you for the reply.
Is the only failure that of there being no signature for the file, or does audio not function via HDMI in addition to it not being certified?  Have noted that as of yet, it is not coded to work with Windows 2003 like the graphics driver.  It seems logical to verify function (or not) with XP first before adding such non-WHQL support to Server.  If like me, you have yet no HDMI display then any results obtained without such hardware may be moot.  That is OK though.

Welcome, Plunks!     smile

Will upload v3.2p soon, unless someone beats me to it.

Heads up!   yikes    Reference:  http://phys.org/news/2014-03-wpa2-wireless.html

Plug it in, plug it in!

Class=USB becomes listed as "USBDevice".  There were others, i think, involving SDHost not showing up in the list.  That was noted on XP using v3.2s.

edit:  An excellent first post, by the way!

No, i do not.  However; OverFlow will know.
Will include your update & add notes of your contribution.  Thank you!     smile

@SteveSi:
Hello again!
Those hyphenated directory names refer to subfolders.
                [I-5] refers to I\5  -  [I-a] refers to I\a
It's not my syntax, although i do have to conform to it!
The primary reason for change being to simplify folder names and thereby shorten path length.

PS:  Have the previous issues with ICH9 been eliminated?

Hello & Welcome to the Forum, kazan!

Curious; what is the HWID for the Intel(R) USB 3.0 Root Hub?

Noting that you may want to start a new topic to advertise your updated Chipset pack(s).

That is awesome!
Am stuck using v3.2p for now, as it doesn't change Class names.

As for posting your mod, i would think that would be permitted as long as the original author is credited and his copyright acknowledged.  "Original program Modified by smc1979", if you like.

bump.

That was necessary so as to allow 2k3 exclusive use of that tag to update a pre-existing driver named "hpt3xx".

Did the non-Plug&Play drivers remain after install?

Thank you for joining the forum!
  O.E.M. sources only, please.

Here is an OEM-sourced example of the driver you referenced:

It does appear to have been updated to include more models.

There might only be a minor issue if i had mistakenly referenced SP4.cab for Win2000 detection once and only once... yikes
Must find, check and update (if not already changed). ToDo.
