thx for the interest
in the previous-past i have tryed that zip file without success (like reported in the "misunderstood" thread)

i'll retry it
regards (and sorry the OT)

hello, obviously the model is the same:sony FE41 (like reported in the other thread)
the video problem WAS solved, the audio, reading the previous posts, too
but there are some other problems like the webcam, and the power management
google seems not help, and so i tryed to ask here (i know is a OT, but i hope in some answers)
sorry for my bad english and the misunderstood

hi to all, and sorry the OT
time ago, i posted a video driver (at that time i thinked was the lonely one... ) problem about this "notebook" here: http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=1592
i founded some drivers, but after a BIG research i "left" and i have reinstalled the original vista, and sended back

the notebook was not mine but a friend one
now he recall me about a big problem with some hw (hp not vista supported)
i'd like to solve it intalling a fully driver supported os (xp)

the question: have, someone, ended a xp installation with this notebook?
if so, can u gently, say me what kinds of driver have u used?

thx to all, and sorry the ot

thx for the reply
yep the (dp-external) driver fixed the issue (works)

the "brand" not have xp support/driver for that exact type so i have (after an heavy google session) found this one fully working
i stop the xp installation too many problem with xp : audio (no chance to solve it .. i don't understand why) and webcam
that notebook was not mine (a friend, and was a vaio vgn-fe41e), i haven't it here now, but the working driver was in this zipped package (video folder)
ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/pub/Vaio/Origin … rivers.zip
the audio and webcam driver present in the package does not works with it (and dp missed too): back to vista and "resend it back"

sorry the bad language
and thx for yours job

thx overflow, now the problem is clear

this explain the strange issue
no prob for solve the problem with its driver: was a doubt about dp and this problem
regards

any suggestion?
after a retry i'm sure: the driver starts ok before the serial number question
but at the reboot (the first boot after the install) the driver still installed but not work

hi, i retry to explain the problem
xp/sp2 with latest dpbase+dp+3rd installed on a vajo notebook
during the initial part of the install i receive the question about the nvidia 7400 installation and i clicked yes/ok
after the screen goes ok (1280x768 so seems that the driver is loaded ok) and i see correctly the serial question and the further setting prompt (lan/etc)
but after the install end, at the reboot i have the nvidia driver not active (an nvidia 7400 device is present in the system info) but the driver is not loaded (not present in the dx click on desktop, setup, advanced, video card    the screen resolution avaible is only 1024x768 or 800x600  and the accelleration is not active)
in the system info (dx click on my computer.. hardware..devices) there is a pci device showed with a question mark, can be this ?

no prob at all, i think, for solve it with some driver, but i'd like to report this and, if possible understand/solve this dp issue
regards

hi to all, and thx for the new releases,
i have just tryed the newest base+dp (official+3rd) with xp/sp2 on a vajo notebook
well, during the install i receive a prompt about the nvidia 7400 driver installation (obv i answer yes, install), the screen SEEMS perfect during eg the xp serial question (and in the eg lan settings question): SEEMS because i'm not sure, but usuall the pixel problem on a 16:9 display with a 1024x768  resolution is clear, but i'm not really sure of this
but after the install i found a nvidia 7400 device in the system and a question mark on a pci device
and the nvidia driver is not active (dx click on desktop > advaced display infos, the acceleration doesn't work and i can choose only a canonical 800x600 and 1024x768)
any suggestion or idea?
sry if my explain is not clear (or some any further info is needed), let me know i'll rety to explain it

regards

first i have tryed to install the realtek ac97 instead the via ac97 installed by the dp , but nothin change: problem with the mouse and audio impossible to listen (if there is an access to the hd)
reinstalled the via_hyperionpro_v510a.zip .. reboot .. all fine now: something goes wrong with dp

first, thx bashrat for the new dpbase release and thx to all for the new DriverPacks

on my asus a8v deluxe with 1gb ram amd 3000+ (promise 378 NOT in raid, via sata NOT in raid, via pata controller) i have just tryed the newest dp-base +all off dp + all 3rd party dp
with the default settings (only the ati control option is changed)

with win2000: finally no error at all during the first install boot (first time!!, the previous times i had always some error before and the first boot stops) , i see the hard disk selection page, but, unlucky only the pata connected hds

with winxp i have a strange problem, never see it before, the mouse is jerkily during the hard disk access (not only during the boot, but eg with opening a browser page), and during the boot the first windows sound is jerkily too
this is the first times i have this problem, and i have tryed many dp release
..and the promise 378 controller is recognized but not working unless i install the asus driver , like already reported

i hope in some, appreciated, help for the mouse/sound problem (driver conflict?)
i'm avaible, obviously, for any further information and sorry for the bad language

just installed the newest dp (works perfect!!!! ) on a friend pc, but there's not the audio driver (i receive the promp after the activation question but before the first real startup)
the mb is a asus A8V-VM , the sound driver is ADI taken here http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/soc … 014151.zip
if some further info is needed let me know

Obviously the promise controller is active in the bios, (like a "normal" controller, not i nraid)
i will reinstall this xp in another hd ... sad

i don't know if many slipstream can produce some error
in this case, i think, is enough copy everytime at the begin of sliptream the folder in another place

add a folder is usefull for eg add a "basic" software folder without the need to copy it to every "dp_working_folder" (home/pro/win2k..)  wink

- option to create an ISO at the end of the slipstream

smile smile smile

hi bashrat and thx
so
just tryed (base 6.09) with a win2k sp4 (the closed thread is not related to a w2k3 never tryed), and xp
and just to the hd selection (not full install)
win2k: only the pata controller finded and related hds
winxp: pata and sata via finded, i cannot see the promise's connected hd
both with the same dp base config:

for the workaround i will try
ps: i cannot found a "setupapi.log" in my pc (ccleaner?)

tryed with an xp sp2 os
all newest at the moment dp and base
slepstreaming ok
but
not found:
promise 378 (one hd sata connected to that controller to load the bios during os install, but not recognized in the hds list), and the need to use downlaoded driver to see the hd in xp
dwl +120
(and a little error after the reboot: rendering sli deactivated, but perhaps is a nvidia driver issue)

after the install:
