Look for "Driverpack Monitor"

Sorry to say I had the same problem with the 2nd PC I did.

The first PC (SIS chipset) worked OK, 2nd PC (Intel 845) had the above problem and left dpfinisher and mute
in the root of c:

Sorry to be vague.

When the installation is complete and the PC reboots there is a section where the KTD logo comes
on the screen for some length of time, (logo with your name in it)
It would be nice to have a progress bar at that point to show the system is not stuck.

Just a thought, it's more eye candy that anything else

The progress bar worked flawlessly during the 7.04 install

Is there a way to add the bar when the KTD section runs when XP rebooted
and your logo appears.

Downloaded all the 7.04 files

Used:
Ryan VM 2.18 with Add-Ins
Ran the above with Nlite
Selected all driverpacks
Enabled KTD
Created ISO with Nlite
Nero 7 to create a DVD

Ran perfectly

Progress bar was perfect and accurate

You guys did it again !!!

Helping with hardware problems is not what this forum is about, it is driver based.

However we will try to help you, it may be the sound card driver needs an update, in the Device Manager it will show
what Make and Model your driver card is i.e. Realtek AC97.
Find the manufactures site (Google) download and install the latest driver.

You may also have a hardware problem with the sound card or speakers, do you turn the volume
all the way up, that tends to destroy small speakers.

Check the following link.

I am a Hardware Tech, I know nothing about programming but have access to several PC's at a time to test with.

I have some time to spare and am willing to help, I do not want to see this project die for my sake as well as
all the other very grateful users.

Son of a Beach

Yeh, thanks guys, forgot about "Bâshrat the Sneaky" thing.

Hope it brightened up your day.

I was born in England so the comments are water of a duck's back.

cry, cry cry, my feeling are hurt.

jdoom, one of these days I will have my revenge, hopefully you will do the Bâshrat the Sneaky thing,

And Helmi, you agreed.

All in good fun.

Enjoy your weekend. 29c here today.

Create a folder in the root of C:  i.e.      C:\UPWCD

Place your XP CD in the CD-ROM and copy all the files to the folder you created, "Ctrl A", Paste to C:\UPWCD "Ctrl V"

Create another folder in the root of C:  i.e.      C:\BASH

Copy the Base file to C:\BASH and Run the BASE file.

Download and copy all the Driverpacks to C:\BASH\DriverPacks

Run the file DPs_BASE in C:\BASH

Click the right arrow 3 times and click on "Browse" find the folder C:\UPWCD, highlight and click "OK"

Click on "Slipstream!"

That's it

To create an ISO File use Nlite

http://www.nliteos.com/download.html
(v1.3.0.4 Final | Installer | 2.03 MB)

Install and run. 2nd screen browse for the folder C:\UPWCD,

Click next twice and click on the "Botable ISO", give it a label and the choose the "Make ISO" button.
Give it a name i.e XP-Home-BTS7016.
Usually placed in the root of C: (easy to find)
Double click the ISO file you created and it will open your CD/DVD Burner.

I think you can figure it out from there.

Jtdoom: I have had a couple of problems with KTD, sometimes it takes 5 mins and sometimes it takes 5 secs.
I admire you guys for the programming, I am a hardware tech and have enough problem with that.
If you need someone to test some stuff I can help with that ???

I have 2 DVD's, one with KTD and on without, I did a Pro version last night and it seemed to work just fine with all the additions
and the KTD seemed to install OK.

Could you post the "little script file", it would be nice to install from a NON KTD disk and then run it when required.

edit; Jaak> one year later Warm Snow posted a tool that works (my script didn't, but was not completely wasted.), and then Overflow integrated a heavily rewritten variant with the missing "minisetup" ingredient in DriverPacks BASE.

Overflow: I agree and maybe we should try to move this thread over to RyanVM. Still, kind of nice to have the link on this site
as I am sure a lot of the users here integrate other stuff. I am not saying we should have discussions on integration
but a little section like this "to point us in the right direction" would certainly be handy and should not exceed the scope
of this forum if the messages were very short and pointed to links.

Just a thought.

"Anyway... the only reason to post the entire list with addons is the fact this impress people (there are ~260 addons available)."

I did not count the addons in the first post.

Great work rado354, I hope you have the time to keep it going.

How about - http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_L … c_Pack.htm
without media player 6.4, a request please please.

Thanks for the link.

Could you give us an URL to the whole 260+.

May I ask, did you create all these, if you did, I applaud you for your hard work.

I am creating a DVD (file size went over 700 megs) with a bunch of apps included i.e. OpenOffice
will post the results over the weekend.

Will be using Base SP2 files, Nlite to add RyanVM and the "new addons" and a couple of minor tweaks, no removal of components.
DriverPacks with KTD enabled, Nlite to create the ISO image and Nero to burn.

Thanks Helmi for vote of confidence, much appreciated.

OverFlow, I think you may have been a bit hasty.

Most of the people on this site use Driverpacks and then integrate all they can into the install CD/DVD.

While I agree it is beyond the scope of this Forum, I would like to find a link to all this stuff and have already
downloaded several of the programs listed above to make my life easier.

If rado354 had posted an URL and a sampler it may not have provoked a negative response.

rado354, thanks for the links, I for one will use them, please post an URL as I would like to access updates in the future.

Like to get rid of the AsenseBot thing

p.s. How is the Virtual Server fund going

I have had problems in the past with Card Readers, Windows installing on drive H:, looking at the wrong drive for files during Installs.
USB stuff is quirky in DOS mode installs etc.

Best way, unplug Card Readers etc. when doing an Install and then connect it when the install is done.

Pre DriverPacks I found that loading Windows with all PCI cards installed created problem so I did the Install with most of them
removed, solved IRQ & DMA issues and then installed the cards after the Install had completed.

After DriverPacks the above PCI card problem is not an issue as drivers and IRQ problem resolve themselves.

p.s. I agree with Helmi, some higher end Card Readers work just fine.

I built a XP Home disk last night and it worked perfectly and installed KTD at the end of the install.

Could you post the exact routine you use to create the CD/DVD so the guru's can analyze it.

i.e. Do you integrate Ryan VM etc. What versions ????

See my previous post on Page 1.

Had the same idea as Dolivas but all I left was the Driverpacks & 3rdParty folders.

Copied 7.0.1.4 to my c:\Bash folder and ran the file, created a DVD and everything ran fine

Hope this helps. If you need anymore info just let me know.

I noticed a problem with a previous install, never gave it a thought as I often recreate the DriverPacks folder.

Maybe Bâshrat the Sneaky could delete the folders etc as a part of the Base install !!!!

BigBrit

p.s. Sometimes the little voices are right, excuse me while I clean my AK47's an polish my C4.

Spoke to soon, got an error (see: http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=1206) in the finisher,
mine was in English but the same message.

Sorry to say, I have the same problem.

Going to erase the whole folder except for the Driver Packs.

The little voices are telling me something may not be getting overwritten ??

BASE 7.01.4
MassStorage 7.01

I had problems in the early days and then I did the following, (maybe the admin staff will recommend this):

Extract all files to --  C:\BASH --   This solved any problems I had with paths.

Just testing with the SIS 661 chipset and it looks to be going all the way through.
The old MassStorage would never get this far.

Thanks for a really nice Birthday present.

Quick edit: SIS 661 chipset worked perfectly.

Thanks for your amazing work and thanks for giving up your weekends. Go out and celebrate.

Sorry, I originally posted in the wrong section.

Using my XP Pro Select with SP2 integrated.

Used Nlite 1.3RC - Integrated RyanVM 2.15a and other add-ins.
Closed Nlite
Opened Nlite (clicked the 2 opposite blue "Refresh" arrows at the side of Path)
Did some mods and created an ISO of that.
Burnt ISO to CD.
Ran Base 6.12 (7.01.1 has a problem)
Open Nlite (did the "Refresh") and created an ISO.
Burnt DVD and installed on my Test Rig, all went well.

Let me know if you did anything differently.

p.s. 7.01.1 ran in 38 secs - 6.12 takes 2:37 and works, don't know what happened there.
