Re: [SOLVED] Problem with 7.01.1

Hi BigBrit
textmode drivers are not processed.
there ought to be a fix soon.

I believe Helmi reported that if you did that with QSC filled with the files from your previous (610 or 612), that the process did what it had to do. ( Well, he had not noticed the error because the folder with content was in placeas he had replaced an earlier base...)

Hmmm, I have not tried that myself...

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

Quite right!
I was very much surprised reading about so many folks having problems with the 701(.1) releases because i noticed nothing wrong when I created my DVD last week.
Either it's due to QSC or the fact that I am already using MSDP 611 (which has not been released yet, however, an even newer version will come very soon).

Re: [SOLVED] Problem with 7.01.1

7.01.2 RC1 is in the Testing Team forum, which has this new feature and in which this problem doesn't exist at all. It should only take a couple of days before this new version is available.

Jup, already spotted, will be testing tonight, hopefully (maybe tomorrow, since the new Sereby's UpdatePack should come out then).

Shouldn't there be a warning about this on the home page?
On modern hardware, no textmode drivers means no harddisk detected tongue.

I would have liked to know about this problem on forehand...

Re: [SOLVED] Problem with 7.01.1

Hi ShadowBlade

I agree.
I would add my own suggestion, and that is simple too.
When a new mass storage pack comes out, DPs_Base has to be a new version..
In between new mass storage packs, it could be a good idea to allow people to get the older base that works with the published driverpacks.
New visitors would then be able to get a version which was known to work for many..
(For instance, some newer members were told to get base 8.06.8, but they cannot get to it..)

it's a thought, might work too, like oldversion dot com.. smile

Re: [SOLVED] Problem with 7.01.1

Agreed, but I thought 7.01.2 would already be out by now... Gotta give muiz, ruudboek and jtdoom some more time I guess smile
