Re: [BSOD] 0x0000007B Error with MassStorage 7.12 (Si3112r, ATI SB450) (125 replies, posted in DriverPack Mass Storage)
You might try updateing the driver either by useing a SIS reference driver
or you could use DriverPacks BASE to create a SAD folder with our DriverPack MassStorage then run DP_Inst_tool.cmd.
The most likely primary cause is your Firmware version on the si3112.
the newest versons of the si3112 driver do not support the older firmware.
It is also possable (I don't remember for sure) that SP3 includes a newer 3112 driver. (that is not backward compatable with your chipsets firmware.)

Welcome to DriverPacks.
Can you post your 3112s HWIDs using the tool in my signature?
did you install useing the DriverPacks?
If so could you please specifiy the version of BASE used to slipstream AND the version of DriverPack MassStorage used.
Alternately post your DPs_BASE.log
thanks for reporting and for useing search to find related issues

Re: [HELP] Driver TSSTCorp CDDVDW TS-633A (5 replies, posted in Hardware)
if you look at the properties of the TSST device. What is the error code and description.
IE "error 10... this device can not start"
Was the device working and then it stopped after a fresh install XP on the machine?
Or did the device stop working and that is why you need the driver?

Re: Found New Hardware Wizard confusion. (18 replies, posted in Other)
you may have to uninstall the printer driver... there may be some monitoring software or the like causing the issue.
check the OEM site for removal tool or unistaller... was system restore enabled perhaps you can fall back to a snapshot from before the printer was attached...

Re: Comprehensive Laptop driver pack (5 replies, posted in Other)
those files are added by DriverPacks BASE.
removal of DriverPacks is done by simply slipstreaming with DriverPacks BASE when None of the DriverPacks have been selected.
Removal is only possable when no changes have been made to your source after the DriverPacks were slipstreamed.
if you remove DriverPacks (or update it) and you have modified your DriverPacks slipstreamed source after DriverPacks was slipstreamed then you will have garbage...

Offline SysPrep is an outstanding place to start!
Please read some of the recently updated threads in the Universal Imaging forum...
responding to an existing thread thread there with related questions will help you to get answers since some of our many SysPrep Gurus are subscribed to the existing threads . This will have the additional benefit of putting you much further up on the learning curve by familiarizing you with known issues and workarounds.
Best of luck and Welcome to DriverPacks.net

Well done cheche... You know that is what we're looking for!
Also note one of the links presented was to the proper .com address. (LAN)
We avoid third party sources like the plague.
Some drivers from manufacturers like dell must be used occasionaly we try to avoid that too.
We prefer OEM chipset reference drivers when at all possable.
thanks for the links and your help everyone!

Bâshrat the Sneaky (Wim Leers)
Has almost finished with or has a masters degree in computer science, and is an international speaker for drupal, and has developed many of the so many modules you referenced . Drupal is in use by the big guys and if you want to work with them you need to be able to play with thier tools
. Wim started DriverPacks when he was 14.... I don't think he is looking for something easy, he wants the best. Hey if you can write your own modules then there is nothing to stop you really is there?
You may not have noticed but the "new" site that we were talking about is now in place.
Our home page is in drupal...
If i were going to make a critisizm it would be the look... most drupal sites seem somewhat alike.
But looks aren't everything. (links removed - no spam)

Sure thing! I hate BUGS almost as much as I hate OPEN TICKETS.
coffee, check...
BASE source, check...
ultra defrag, check...
vmware, check...
Windows XP Professional - Retail SP3, check...
Ill respond to the bugtracker report when I confirm your result!
PS Thanks for putting a ticket in over at the bugtracker!
yeah since you end up with GARBAGE that makes it "critical"... even of the occurance level is low .
since it causes a "critical error"

Re: [SLVD] False Pos. - Win32:Trojan-gen in LAN driverpack? (14 replies, posted in DriverPack LAN)
Marko,
RE: I don't know how else you could double check the LAN pack.
As suggested, the best way to deal with this, and put all of our minds at ease, is for you submit the specific file that was flagged to Avast for review. I am sure they have a procedure for this... and since you are their customer you should be supported.
alternately you could link them to the packs download...
A copy of your report from Avast (either clean or dirty) will put us all on the right track.
It never hurts to be careful and vigilant.
Thank you for Reporting it makes DriverPacks better for everyone.
We are now waiting for your response from Avast support...
If they are the first ones to identify this threat then perhaps we may see some new fans for Avast.
There are not many now because of its past history with providing false positives.
the only thing worse than a positive is a false positive . because it wastes huge amounts of time.
Some other popular scanners are also known for wasting our time quite often and are also not used by many of us.
one of two things will result
a. we have a nasty we need to address
b. they have a definition that needs updated.
We are in a holding pattern waiting for your trouble ticket with avast to be answered.
We are unable, internaly, to confirm your report useing other scanners...
Avast is the only avenue that I am aware of to get a resolution at this point.
I agree the coinsidence is huge and worthy of our full attention.
however many of us host sites too...
Me for example, who has every pack ever relelased extracted on his machine.
none of my machines or servers has been compromized - not ever for that matter.
although I do often have some fun with the IPs that appear more than a few thousand times in my logs.
You would be amazed how many would be hackers out there who don't use proxy or a zombie.
Mmmm... script kiddy its whats for dinner...
PS I almost never load a machine with the network cable connected.
(Except on a well protected private corporate network with hardware and software firewalls Including gateway and per machine virus scanning)
It is almost impossable to load a machine these days without getting a virus during the installation , if direct internet access is available to the machine. No protection is in place during this time and patches may not yet be applied.
If we do have a nasty then we would like to know ASAP, Will you continue to help us to help you?
Jeff
