Again based on looking at your output of the HWIDs tool the driver looks like it is /was installed correctly...
What is your indication that it was not? (did you install the driver manually before you ran the HWIDs tool?)
the fact that it installs manualy but not from sad indicates a BUG in the DPInst.exe program or its switch settings.

Re: SAD disk made with DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_909r6??? (8 replies, posted in DriverPack Mass Storage)
your %SystemRoot%\setupapi.log will contain the why...
search it for PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2929...
Since you did not tell us which version of DriverPack MassStorage, I have assumed the latest available
DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_909r6
Both
/I4/iaAHCI.inf 08/07/2009, 8.9.2.1002 and
/I5/ibexahci.inf 06/04/2009, 7.0.0.1013
contain that driver and both are signed...
What pack version(s) did you use? (Hint: include DPs_BASE.log)

Re: which driverpack to use (1 replies, posted in Feedback and Support - DriverPacks Base)
Welcome to DriverPacks Joel!
If you use all the main packs then there is 99.99 percent chance your hardware will be supported.
Only the drivers that your machine needs will remain on your machine the rest will be removed during / after the install. It really is that easy.
However the packs are huge and if you only ever intend to use your install disc on that single laptop you could save hundreds of MB on your install disc by adding only the drivers you specificaly need to your disc.
This is a little harder to do because you must first obtain all the drivers you need yourself and then you must use something to slipstream them. nLite works well for this task it is also very useful to automate and even create and ISO and even burn your installation disc.
DriverPacks primarily targets professional users who encounter "black boxes" where the hardware contained is unknown. Since our packs have been in development for over five years we don't have reports of missing drivers very often. When we get one we add it . They are as complete as is humanly possable.
You are not our target audience but you will find that DriverPacks will solve all your driver problems .
Just be aware that you will probably need to put the install on a DVD.
read the tutorial in my signature and let us know if you need help
have an awesome day.
Jeff

The only dumb question is the one that is never asked...
Yes SAD should update PnP mass storage drivers...
I can imagine there may be some file in use issues happening though...
I wonder if SAD works from safe mode?

Re: [CLSD] DP_Misc_wnt5_x86-32_90909 (13 replies, posted in 3rd Party DriverPacks)
Wow...
unsigned drivers should still install, based on the DPInst settings we use.
Can you extract \d\3\x\ti\ and install that driver manually? (from device manager)
Does that also fail?
PS in your HWIDs list it looks like it is installed correctly?

Re: [SOLVED] Corrupted downloads (35 replies, posted in Site & Forum Issues And Feedback)
Wim put me in the cc line on the second support ticket.
They have responded that they
"had the file flushed from all edge locations" and
"haven't reproduced the issue yet, but will continue to try from multiple sites from multiple browsers looking for the cause of the issue."
Did flushing the cache fix the issue?...
Re-uploading the original is the next recommended step if not.
Please report!

Re: [BUG] Optiplex 755 DPINST.LOG Errors DP_Misc_wnt5_x86-32_90909.7z (3 replies, posted in 3rd Party DriverPacks)
It tells us that driver is missing its CAT file and as such is unsigned...
We try not to break signing on drivers...
Sometimes we have no choice, sometimes a file is just missing, other times altered, perhaps moved, etc...
Some times this is intentional and needed in order to eliminate HWID conflicts.
HWIDs may have to be added or removed from the drivers .inf file,
most times if the inf file is altered then signing is broken.
A signed driver is always preferred by PnP over a non-signed, even if the signed driver is older.
We tell DPInst to allow non signed drivers so they will be used, if no signed driver is found that is compatible.
- This is more of a warning message than an error message because we allow unsigned drivers .
This error may be deliberate but since I did not do the pack personally I am not certain .

try http://driverpacks.sytes.net/driverpack … 2_90904.7z
our latest nightly and see if that helps
add that pack to the Plugins\driverpacks.net\base\driverpacks folder
from pebuilder plugins button find DriverPacks BASE and click on it then hit the configure button
then build...
let us know if that works!

We are just happy they stop by when they do... And we simply say thanks.
I personaly would not put anyone on the spot and ask them to commit to anything, like a deadline. Personaly, I don't belive that just because someone donates a pack they are some how bound to it forever have to keep it current. Especialy when they get paid nothing.
They donated it to begin with is not that enough?
(That makes them a hero in my mind, and I do see that you recognize the fact in your post)
(they were not abandoned, they were donated as is. With no promises)
They volunteer when they can and I say thank you.
I consider it brash to say hey when do you think you can get around to updating these packs?
Look at it this way - If you don't have time to update a pack, then who will?
I would like nothing better than to see them all updated too!
Thanks for the Props, and Welcome to DriverPacks!

Re: Question about M1 4096 path limit (4 replies, posted in Feedback and Support - DriverPacks Base)
So does M2
The main difference is M2 doesn't create a Searchable disk, in case you wanted to drop the cd in a pc and only update a single driver from device manager useing the new hardware wizard manually and could then select search removable media

We try to make things as easy as possible...
Glad to hear that we succeeded
M1 is considered depreciated and was replaced with M2. (because the limit is much higher)
M1 does still work
Welcome to DriverPacks and have a great day!
