I told you that i was mistaken in my last post... Setup.exe needs to be running for shift f10 to work and you don't get that far wink.

you looked up windows shortcuts... you are not in windows yet... the stage of setup after the first reboot and before the second reboot is called the PE stage of setup or WinPE, Windows Preinstallation Environment (WinPE). So since you are not in windows a whole different set of rules and shortcuts exists. (It is because you are not in windows after all)

How to set the CD to boot first is different for each machine/BIOS you will have to investigate either the manufacturer (Dell, HP, IBM) or the MotherBoard manufacturers site (GigaByte, Intel, MSI, DFI, Asus...) and read the documentation. Typically there is an advanced section where you can select "Boot Order". Can't be more specific than that without knowing which motherboard / BIOS you have.

Fixed in DriverPacks BASE 10.x or higher

Should be fixed now in 10.x or later releases

Hey DD did you ever test my nightly DriverPacks BASE?

A Nightly version of BASE is up that should fix this issue big_smile

We have a testing team, two packs teams, a Main team, a Code team, Etc... and many hidden forums...

Not all Beta / Alpha DriverPacks become releases (we refer to our test DriverPacks as "nightlies").
Many or most of our packs go through hundreds of changes over several months...
Only after a Nightly DriverPack has passed through rigorous testing by several dozen team members and perhaps hundreds or thousands of machines with no reported issues will it become a release. Most nightlies are never released. We only release proven to be stable and working DriverPacks, most packs never pass muster, and are not released

You can't just dump a bunch of drivers into an archive and post it on the web, at least not if you want the drivers to install properly. Adding Drivers to a Pack is a tedious and very time consuming process, and no pack is harder to update properly than Mass Storage tongue.

Since Mulgie is a Donor he automatically gains testing team access... There is Much that goes on behind the scenes that is not visible to regular members, as a matter of fact most of our posts are in the hidden team forums. So I pointed Mulgie to that pack knowing he also has access to the thread in the team forum that corresponds to it... So I could get some feedback smile.

Short answer... Mass storage is not ready for release yet, and that update is not important to what we are working on with DriverPack MassStorage ATM wink.

Good question.

We don't usually close threads...
We hope that someone with a similar issue will find it, and Post here rather than starting a new thread wink

Thanks for reporting your success and letting us know that re-downloading a corrupt DriverPack was in fact the resolution!

Have an awesome day and thanks for reporting!

Jeff

3rd party DriverPack is a good server wink

Dude!!! Wazzzaaapppp!

Hello IvanVL,

Welcome to DriverPacks.net

DriverPacks BASE should import that info automatically from your Internet Explorer settings...

it can be set manually... but i am curious why it was not imported? (did you even try it?)

Have a great day.

I think the corrupted pack was the issue this time...

MD5 check-sum verification is 99.99% done in my local copy (head revision)..., at least for downloads done directly from DriverPacks BASE
mr_smartepants got a sneak preview yesterday wink.
IDK if i will even attempt to implement MD5 further checks...
IE for selected packs that are already on the local machine.
That is possible, but IDK if it is worth the effort to code... (Jeff scratches his head and shrugs)
Bad DLs are not an issue that is reported very often. Simple CDN has eliminated most of those issues for us big_smile!

Hmm if he needs to be at T-39 for Shift F10 to work - then that was not a valid suggestion... since setup never gets called... (he won't / can't get that far)

You're going to have to format and start over... (NBD that was what you were doing anyway)
or use a BartPE disc to edit the HDD
or do a parallel install
or hang the HDD off another machine
or use the recovery console
or use a NT6 PE disc
or some other method that allows you to delete that file from the HDD.

Since you stated that you intend to load it clean anyway, I would just start from the CD again and format...
Simple and easy!

I think he means my link to the other thread,
the one where I cleaned up this thread and moved all the unrealated "hijack" posts too wink
But I could be wrong...
Perhaps he meant he is grateful that we share our forum with wonderful people like you big_smile.

I am so pleased! Good teamwork guys!

Thanks to each of you for your good will and mutual cooperation.

IDK if you are aware that there is another major player in this game...
WarmSnow started his project that is similar in "fit, form and feel" to each of the above mentioned projects in 2007...
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=2403

Have not seen him recently but it seems like he was the first one to develop this type of an app wink.
He was certainly the first one to share his app on our site tongue.

again you should not need to update any DriverPacks... it should work without any updates...

What versions did you use to update DriverPacks with?

remove his .net addon and use our runtime 3rd party DriverPack... http://driverpacks.net/driverpacks/wind … s-ati/9.12

if it works with our runtime then you know the issue is his .net...

It may also be that his installer does not run before the DriverPacks Finisher wink.  .net must be installed before the DriverPacks Finisher runs!

DriverPacks BASE will only use the latest packs... IE you don't have to worry about itit is automatic... read the tutorial linked in my signature.

As stated in that thread you pointed to...

cd %systemroot%\system32
DEL /F setupold.exe

hitting <Shift> <F10> should bring up a CMD window wink

The testing version of DriverPacks BASE is backward compatible with all packs wink

DriverPacks can be updated... as long as it was the LAST step in your process. (no changes after DriverPacks wink)

you said yourself that it worked big_smile

this is a built in function of DriverPacks BASE wink
