Our future.. I saw Rc2 and it works.
I knew some of of the changes in RC2 before it was written.

We will have a release.
As is, RC2 is stable.
Release gotta be Firm.

I asked Jeff for some features, so we will have an RC3.
JakeLd got credit. (Well deserved T00)

Jeff will (FINALLY) got some credit ( IF he is not too shy.. )
I mean.. Bâshrat the Sneaky dont write new code, and Jeff writes and improves on the base. Jeff deserves credit for that.
Helpers are helpers. We credit them in changelogs.

And what about Chips?
well, our future RC3 is about NOT breaking barriers.
We can postpone it? Yes.
We can release as is, and everything works while it already has M3 code.
Jeff will decide.

Good work.

BEAT 1
M1, no QSC, TXT only. fixed

Beat 2.
M1, QSC OFF, chips only. no issue

Beat 3.
M2. QSC OFF, chip, Roe. (only chips)
OK (horay)

beat 4.
M1 on beat 3, QSC OFF, Chip/TXTmode only
CleanUp was OK: Mass not in $Oem$
OK

fifteen variations after that.
four of them tested live in TXT mode in a Live DVD Boot.
all OK (aborted setup when I got asked what partition..)

I cannot test proxy.

I did not yet test M2 repair setup after M2
Somebody gonna have to test that on a LIVE machine he installed with RC2, and I had no free LIVE machine.

Maybe it was when a member and Erik implemented widescreen support in Graphics.. which was then no longer an issue?
And, currently it again has become one.
BUT.. I dunno why.

Hi abdou,

YOU are the person who can find out.
We maintain a supported device list, and most third party packs have it as well.

YOU can test the current releases, and then find out what it does NOT support.
After that, you can make a REQuest, and you better tell us which driver, and where we get it.

We are not your Sherlock Homes.

we won't inclyde the SPY application, but I did find TXTmode driver for this mobo's LSI megaIDE.
(the iastor driver they list is Version 6.2, and we have that covered.)

Hi
we do not have that driver.
I don't know which model of intel server motherboard this is.
You can provide the model and a link to the driver.

NOTE; If this is urgent, you can integrate the few drivers you need with Nlite.

Hi OCman

Yesterday OverFlow and I again talked about why we should remove setupold.exe and we hope to implement something simple, and when that does it for you repair will also work.

hi again, that hotplug VIA report was in other topic.
I am working on release version for mass storage.

Hi

we need a product/serial code to get to the XP drivers Sony provide.
(the numbers found under the basrcode sticker.)
http://www.vaio-link.com/os/xp/downgrad … en_GB_cons

You could download them all, and upload or mail them to a driverpacks or main team member, or you could email one of us and provide the code from sticker to one of us, so we can upload the drivers to our FTP.

Hi
thanks.
Jeff reported Sill3112 will work when it is set to RAID in BIOS (which is something we can expect).

Via txtmode worked, and PnP did not pick up the hotplug driver stuff.
The nulled driver \V3 has that hotplug driver.
The information we have is that a "nulled" driver will not be used.
(I will have to look at something... I am begining to wonder about what "will not be used" really means.)

Hi
it looks like you had QSC off and KDT ON.

DriverPacks is used as last step, do the DriverPacks stream, with qsc ON. (and if you want ktd, ktd ON)

@ echoplatoon.
sorry.. 8015 is in testing, and it is based on misnomer 803.
(the misnomer was that 801 became 802. but it should have been 8011. a fix in In january.).

8015 has every folder 803 had, and one extra. [D1]
8015 has nulled via miniIDE in [v3]

Nullled means, mscount was set to zero.
This is is perfect for TESTING. By Nulling it we do not use it for TXT mode, and can reenable it PDQ.
That miniIDE driver in \V3 can be important to PnP, and in TXTmode it most probably wreaks havoc.

Sorry folks...
Disc based install always was and is main goal.
I think I got carried away when the forum made me think sysprep solutions would work for disc based install.

We can probably tell you how you can see which drivers would stall sysprep.
A LOT of the info is on site, in the packs, in supported device list and in forum.
Making packs ready for Disc based setup with a thirty ton load of drivers is not easy.

I regret to say that we cannot always cater for SYSPREP.
The PE crowd have problems, and the SYSPREP gurus have problems.
We will try to get DriverPacks the perfect solution for DISC based install. We already are the best.

We will try to cater to syprep, and we discussed ideas.
We can tell you how to use DriverPacks, and you should tell us about your issues.
The DriverPacks team cannot have a slogan like 'IT works for Every Thing', because the goals are too different.
But, we can make our slogan, "Help us help you'.

Hi, you ran 80xx slipstream to XP, and it failed on LSI?
the 803 could do that... 8015 should fix that.
http://dev.driverpacks.thesneaky.com/dr … 32_8015.7z

a name like 803 was wrong, but it is a test version.
8015 is also a test version. later than 803...

Please remove old testpacks, and delete QSC folder before you re-stream a source.
If you are NOT using the base RC test version, turn on QSC.

for extra reliability on other chips, please also test disc based install in server 2000/2003

+notice+

Hi
V3 got nulled in INI.
That means it is there for PnP, and not for TXTmode.
V3 is via's miniIDE.

@ chud
I  added the Dell 7400 XP driver to 8015 in section [D1] and did a disc based win 2003 setup, and setup finished.

Now, for sysprep of XP on that type of machine you can remove D2 and L4.
D2 is server only
L4 is an older LSI reference driver for XP, and uses same system file names.

In a disc based setup, the tagname deals with that.

driverpacks_nightlies/DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_8015.7z

link killed (we have a newer file)

I will have some time available..

chud, was file not found during 2000 or 2003server install?
first thing to try ar remedy is that you disable the skipifOS line. (if present in testpack... I have just started downloading)

hi

old mass 7092 had
ms_1_tag="lsi_sas"
ms_1_sysFile="lsi_sas.sys"
filename itself had all uppercase LSI_SAS.SYS

current lines say
ms_1_tag="LSI_SAS"
ms_1_sysFile="LSI_SAS.SYS"

ms_1_exc_disableIfOS="w2k" was added to the INIand
The filename's extention became lower case.

I hear this (upper/lower) should not make a difference, but while I worked on a Compac/HP SAS driver in  late december I could not make it load in TXTmode, and it defied everything I tried with upper/lower case..

This LSI SAS driver most probably acts the same..
However, this one must have worked for server.
(I think we had trouble hgetting it to work, tho)
I suggest you rename the file to all upper case, and again use lower case in the INI for this one.

If that works for server, then the ms_1_exc_disableIfOS="w2k" is not causing this.
(ms_1_exc_disableIfOS="w2k" could be causing this, tho.. I think we want to find out, because most requests are for server stuff nowadays, and we are only two drivers away from the win2000 memory limit.)

Test it for us. Tell us if it truly reports 32 bits zubz.

zhanDhuo  or zhan Dhuo (and lookalikes) have been around for a while.
You can find utilities like this while tracking back to the days of 8 bits.
We want a good sub sys foirmware grabber. (as a yonker says it)
YOU need firmware subsys read at 32 bits or @64 and 32 compatible, not a guessworking txtreader.

You need a firmware reader for a good install.
You need drivers.
Help us make you the best tool.

Hi RougueSpear,

I bet you been in contact with Jeff over this.
Siginets detection module kinda already gets platform (SP and new platforms) and SP3 detection works.
DriverPacks does not supprt 64 bit OS.

OverFlow wrote:

I have fixed the M1 double \d error
the bug where the $OEM$ folder was created when only masss storage was selected
the HJW pack is now recognized
SP3 support (beta is out on that)
the page profiles errors (base gets lost when the back button is pressed in gui mode)
removing hardcoded folders in Chipset. (there is a new approach to chipset.)
BartPE gets; new verify path code, chipset and cpu support will now precede LAN since you guys did this.

I hope to post the alpha on this as soon as today, but I won't put it up till I am happy with it and i am tough on myself.

I can confirm the method 1 D\D issue got eliminated in a IM session "team only" 'interim' test.
SP3 detection works
I hope to run tests on chipset coded folders "interim, team only" soon.

What Jeff did in the last version I recieved in a IM session was a great improvement, and that was a over a week ago. (I was scarce for a while but I had a good many personal excuses.)

What I see right now is that a lot of hard work is done, and nothing gets in the limelight.
Chips? Jeff recieved testfiles so he can test his code and If I know him at all, he will come up with something good for the end user, and will keep the pack developers in mind.

Mass? ditto.

Lan?
The PCI-HWIDS are easy (sorta).. but some of those other lines are mysterious.
What do lines with varying sections of underscores and hyphens do? They fight?

Hi,
I know there is setting in winnt.sif for monitor settings, but...
BUT... When I use a LCD or widescreen TFT, the settings I put in winnt.sif will not have the desired result.
(it will default to defaults for pnp monitor, which are often different than what the ICM/INF for the monitor show it can handle.)

I also know that the winnt.sif setting "not working 'limitation'" has been worked around by using a Hacked DLL, but DriverPacks cannot do that because we would then be in the same gray area as a pirated XP I saw it done to.

The ICM/INF files for that screen are needed.
You could perhaps try set it to non PnP (overrule PnP detection.), with windows VGA settings at 800x600  in winnt'sif, but I would not know how how to overrule PnP on this..

We do not want to use hacked windows system DLL.
