OK, so where is the option to "Enable SFC"

This is all I requested. If it is an option, I will be a happy man.

I'm using nLite for this task (and many others wink).
Dunno whether it also uses this "hacked" DLL or patched it itself or whatever, I only know it seems to work for me wink

@chud next time you post a screenshot, try hitting [ALT]+[PrntScrn] to only shoot the window in focus (ie the relevant part).
That or cut out what you want to show us, because, as you can see, your image gets resized because it's too large for the forum (at least on my res, dunno whether it is dynamic).
Besides, using a GIF is fine, better than JPEG fort a screenshot at least.
However, you really should not use dithering.
If you do not like the 256 colours limit, try PNG the next time.
It's smaller, too!

I always C&P before I click "Submit", that way you can "restore" you post easily whenever you get that "Server too busy" message...

Besides, it's rather the server itself than the BB software, I guess...

Just FYI:

As the Logitech Setpoint drivers ver 4.0 came out just recently, this pack will egt updated as soon as I get to it.
That is, unless someone else does it in the meantime wink

Hey, thanks for that, I updated the first post accordingly.
However, you're still not giving quite the proper info, I'm afraid.

The hashes supplied are great, however, packed and unpacked size would be nice, too smile

Also, you do not seem to follow the naming convention properly.
It goes like Y.MM.DD, for instance, a pack created today would be 7.08.11.
Using the date in the name has the great advantage to you can easily compare which pack is newer without having to check the CREATED attribute (which can get messed up).
If you would create a second (hotfix?) pack today, just put another figure behind it, like Y.MM.DD.rev (=7.08.11.2).
Only if we all stick to this convention, confusion will be kept at a minimum!

It may work otherwise if only a single person is working on this but for a loose teamwork project like this, it is imperative to stick to it!

Thridly, you didn't name any folder structure.
As I haven't DL'ed the packs myself yet, I couldn't update the listing.
This is also important for anyone who wants to create a totally new pack and has to choce a free subfoer designation.

Once again, thanks for all your effords, but if you don't pay enough attention to these "rules" it could all be in vain! hmm

You said it, Jeff.

ernesta , please keep posts in the proper section and do not cross/double post.
I'm sure the Team Members in charge of this will read your posts. Posting the same twice does not get you any more attention but just annoys folks.
Also, it will clutter the forum and the discussion will get defocussed, which in the end does not help finding a solution for you.

How about you try following the link Erik gave you?

That would be a start... wink tongue

The left symbol is the newer CCC, the right one is the oldish CP.
Apart from what Erik told you, I have no further clue myself.

Could it be you are using an older secondary ATi card in this system along with a newer (Radeon-line) one?
Maybe it's a deactivated on-board card (Rage XL for a chance)?

Something must be triggering the CP installation, and if you selected CCC in the base, that could only be a pre-Radeon card (which the CCC does not support)...

Jaak wrote:

I showed you how to use bulletin board code, so the link would not break

Indeed.

You HAVE to manually set the URL tags and not just type/paste the URL in.
If you let the board software parse the link containing some "unusual" characters (such as brackets) it will break.
Do as Jaak told you, and it will work!

Well the DPs_BASE already repacks the drivers so i was thinking it could simply compress them to one 7z or have this as an option, having the driver packs as seporate downloads like now is a greate idea.

It repacks them?
Where?
This is news to me!
It only copies them over and renames (shortens) them, AFAIK.

If you trafic is limited your a fool, or maybe your living in a contry with very crappy ISP's...

My traffic is not limited and I am satisfied with my ISP.

However, I can easily imagine how it must be if that is the case, so we should not forget these people.
Also, it does not have anything to do with being a fool or likewise, some just cannot afford an all-you-can-download contract and if you are living in such a country, it's hardly your own fault, hum?
What are these folks supposed to do?
Move to your country, maybe?

I already striped my source with nLite, last time (2005) i striped the help files (~30MB) and only that way was able to fit every thing on a single CD.
I still have a few systems to maintain that have no dvd drive.

Yeah, I know that situation, I was in it until three or so months ago, too.
However, I managed to strip enough stuff off the CD to fit all the drivers and post-SP2 updates on it.
Besides, you can also use 800/900MB CD-Rs, though there is no RWs in that fashion, unfortunately.

Anothere benifit of having just 1 file is that the gui extractor will how a total % instead of just the obscure 1/7 and a current %.

True, but as it does not display any estimated time left, it's more a cosmetical change anyhow.
Besides, who is really going to sit and look at that, eh? tongue
It was just implemented because an external coder came up with it and our tests revealed no downside.
Better than staring at a blue screen with (presumably) nothing going on...
Anyway, the point of an unattended installation is exactly not to sit in front of it big_smile

Riprep?

Never heared of, please elaborate...

First and foremost, post your HWIDs (see my sig link).

Secondly, have you already tried the DriverPacks but with no success?

You can also use Hashtab, that's probabaly what the rest of the Team uses, too.
You need to right-click-->properties a file to get the menu.

Anyway, the latest version seems to break some Windows themes, so see if that works out for you or not (it's just a cosmetical problem, after all).

That may be nice if you are low on available space on your disc (move to DVD finally! LOL) but would mean a redownload of the whole darn package each time a single driver is updated.
I guess there are more people not on broadband than not using a DVD drive.
Also, if you are traffic-limited by your ISP, that's probabaly not the best idea, too.

This would mean in effect, less frequent DriverPacks updates to accomodate for this, another not so great solution.

If you are using Nero to burn your discs, there's an option to enable short lead-out.
That saves about 12MB on the disc with no downside (I've been using it for years and if there is any I have yet to detect it on the countless systems I use my discs on).

Granted, if you combined both options, you could save even more, but this alone sounds like a much more feasable solution to me.
Besides, you can use nLite to strip your source of any unneeded language files, that should save about the same amount if not more (and while you're at it, kill the search dog and the MSN browser in the process, these two are definately unneeded!).

And for those that still need the 15MB, they can just repack the DriverPacks themselves, IMO.

Don't get this wrong, it's great to point this out for those that are low on space, but since this is Feature Requests, I suppose yor goal was to have this officially approved...

Yeah, I know that feeling.
Been there, done that...

I called toshiba and they told me I have just voided my warrenty by placing Xp on my system and they cannot help.(crock)

Outrageous!
What a bunch of c*cksucking liars!

Last time I checked it's the customer's free decission what software he runs on his system, OS included.
Basides, the warranty covers the HW (or so you would think), and I don't see how installing another OS goes along with unscrewing the case and opening the HDD (or similar).

That, IMO, is reason enough to refrain from buying Toshiba again...
Plus, if they don't even offer the option to get the system with XP preinstalled.

I GOT IT!  IM A DUMBASS sorry for wasting you guys time, It wasent atheros thats why none of that stuff was working. I had to force the Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG drivers from intels website.

Heh, happens the best of us.
That probabaly means there's a HWID missing in our DriverPack WLAN.

I see you already listed them, but to make things easier on the Driver Team, I advise you to post just that info as a request in the WLAN section.
If these drivers really work for you, then it should just require the insertion of one line into the INF.

Well, you don't necessarily need an MD5 hash.  If you have 7zip installed and it's integrated to the shell, then right clicking on it you can open the 7-zip command subset and test the archive.

That's right and ususally more than adequate, however, in this case, the problem could lie elsewhere, so an MD5 would be good to see whetherit could be the RAM or not (MD5 showing up correctly but not extracting properly).

Not showing up for me.
With ImageShack, please make sure to post the "direct link" (it's the last one in the row of links presented) so that we can directly see the image here, no strange thumbnail or redirector.

ALWAYS use the direct link, no matter what (that's my personal rule, anyhow).

Anyway, with the BASE, you got to decide for either the CCC or the CP.
Check out the options, it's there wink

Ah yes, totally forgot to post a request about it smile

Jaak, I think I found the reason for this!
Dell is only providing a driver fopr the PER RAID for Windows 200 and 2003 Server editions, however, none for XP (probabaly because no server edition exists for that).
While it works fine in Text Mode, you cannot install the driver (even manually and forced) on an XP system:

http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/4523/perraidsigneddriveray4.png

http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/3750/percraiderrordriverinstns6.png

As you can see, this is signed and all, but refuses to work.
This is directly from the driver archive from Dell's site, using the 2k3 link.

Either I leave it as it is or I'll have to move to a server OS (it was running 2k server when I got it but I have too many apps that require XP by now...).
Anyone got a cheap 2k3 server for me? wink

That or I'll just put on my 2k8 server beta3 big_smile
(maybe it will install properly now after the BIOS update...)

A bugged driver could certainly cause some file system corruption that could render your data broken (howver, chances are you can fix that).
Unless HWIDs are identical, a "false" driver should not even install.

I doubt it could "destroy" the array itself, though.

Most likely it won't even work and you cannot access your data at all, hence not even corrupt it.
In any case, I do not suggest going ahead and trying without backing up your most important data.
But that is a no-brainer and counts for each and every action.
Experimenting with drivers no matter what device is not a task to be performed on a productive system with sensitive data on it!

The wifi hardware installed on this machine is: Atheros AR5006EG Wireless Network Adapter

Please always include the HWIDs pertaining to the device in such a post (see link in my sig on how to obtain them).
Only the device name or the HWIDs alone does not get anyone far.
Name is needed to find the drivers on the manufacturer's HP, however, HWIDs is needed to check whether the device is already supported by the DriverPacks or not.

I tryed everything from that thread including try to force older drivers to take but came up with nothing.....Anyone know how to get my laptop to atleast see that this is an atheros?   I cant even get that far.   I tryed the wireless lan setup utility and it says it cant find any hardware installed on my machine.

If I understand this all correctly, then the lkaptop got shipped with Vista but you wiped that and put XP on it (understandable move, no doubt wink).
Does Toshiba actually supply and XP drivers for it?
If so, if you try to "force" this driver using the Device Manager, would that work?
If non provided, have you tried the Vista driver instead (could work after all)?

Third point, have you tried contacting Toshiba about it?
If the system is new, you're probabaly eligible for customer support, let THEM sort it out wink
I know how hard it can be finding even a 2k driver for a Toshiba NB that was shipped with XP.
They don't seem too fond to support their HW cross-plattform-wise... hmm

HWIDs, please (as always when there's a HW problem, we cannot just guess them from the name).

My sig includes the link to the file...

zobbo wrote:

Well, these do sound like symptoms to me.
If things were always that obvious (eg you'd notice this during everyday work) you propabaly wouldn't need any testing tools.

Besides, I'm just trying to narrow it down.
Running the test certainly does not hurt, moreso since you're the only one reporting such errors.
This makes it very unlikely the problem is atually the server host or the packs themselves...

Could also be bad RAM on your side or a bad HDD sector.

Use www.memtest.org and chkdsk to verify both!
