Topic: XP WiFi Drivers for toshiba P105-S6177

Hey guys,
I did all my homework when wiping vista from my toshiba satellite P105-S6177 and installing XP I got everything restored except my Wifi by following this thread:          http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 71&p=2

There is little mention of how to get the wifi going again....Im just stuck with the last yellow question mark "network controller" and cannot get anything to change it.

The wifi hardware installed on this machine is: Atheros AR5006EG Wireless Network Adapter

I tryed everything from that thread including try to force older drivers to take but came up with nothing.....Anyone know how to get my laptop to atleast see that this is an atheros?   I cant even get that far.   I tryed the wireless lan setup utility and it says it cant find any hardware installed on my machine.

I tryed the pack on that thread also and it didnt work out for me....I did that at the start of this, when that didnt work I started going step by step fixing everything and this is the very end of it...everything works...audio....everything!...So now im just left with the lone ranger question mark in the device manager and no wifi.

Sad part is....This is the most urgent thing I needed to fix....I could have cared less about the audio....but I fixed it just to fix it.

That thread was a real life saver though...I also wanted to thank everyone who took the time to contribute to it, I found it before I wiped vista off here and it was the nail in the coffen....that thread made me believe I could do it.

Help?   Anyone?

Please always include the HWIDs pertaining to the device in such a post (see link in my sig on how to obtain them).
Only the device name or the HWIDs alone does not get anyone far.
Name is needed to find the drivers on the manufacturer's HP, however, HWIDs is needed to check whether the device is already supported by the DriverPacks or not.

If I understand this all correctly, then the lkaptop got shipped with Vista but you wiped that and put XP on it (understandable move, no doubt wink).
Does Toshiba actually supply and XP drivers for it?
If so, if you try to "force" this driver using the Device Manager, would that work?
If non provided, have you tried the Vista driver instead (could work after all)?

Third point, have you tried contacting Toshiba about it?
If the system is new, you're probabaly eligible for customer support, let THEM sort it out wink
I know how hard it can be finding even a 2k driver for a Toshiba NB that was shipped with XP.
They don't seem too fond to support their HW cross-plattform-wise... hmm

Yeah, I know that feeling.
Been there, done that...

Outrageous!
What a bunch of c*cksucking liars!

Last time I checked it's the customer's free decission what software he runs on his system, OS included.
Basides, the warranty covers the HW (or so you would think), and I don't see how installing another OS goes along with unscrewing the case and opening the HDD (or similar).

That, IMO, is reason enough to refrain from buying Toshiba again...
Plus, if they don't even offer the option to get the system with XP preinstalled.

I GOT IT!  IM A DUMBASS sorry for wasting you guys time, It wasent atheros thats why none of that stuff was working. I had to force the Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG drivers from intels website.

Heh, happens the best of us.
That probabaly means there's a HWID missing in our DriverPack WLAN.

I see you already listed them, but to make things easier on the Driver Team, I advise you to post just that info as a request in the WLAN section.
If these drivers really work for you, then it should just require the insertion of one line into the INF.

Hi guys,
I realise its been a while since this thread was started, still it was great source for downgrading my laptop from Vista XP, so thanks for sharing all your insights. By forcing the drivers listed here and the previous threads I was able to get most of it to work; that goes for Video, Audio, Wifi, etc.

The only bit missing is the Audio Mic Line, that is the sound recording which is essential for using skype, etc. Wondering if I should be installing a more updated driver (I am downloading a more recent version for the UAA) or reinstalling a driver for the CONEXANT HD AUDIO controller.

So here are the drivers I installed:

Motherboard SP3255
Graphics SP33736
UAA SP32646
Audio Driver SP32836
Modem Driver SP33442
(then forced the XP Conexant Sound Driver for P100-ST9742)

Any clues and advice welcome.

Thanks,

I am left to assume (i don't like that word) that you too, have a Toshiba P105-S6177.  Is this true?
HWID's would help as well, for me to help DP's to help you, helping others too! smile
