Arrgghh!
OK, someone else is going to have to look at this. I'm packing my bags for my trip and can't look into this until I get back.
Could you try this DP and report back?
http://dev.driverpacks.thesneaky.com/dr … 06test3.7z
Also make sure you integrate with this DP as well.
http://dev.driverpacks.thesneaky.com/dr … 61test4.7z
Use both and report back with your log files.

Was that the 7.06 release DP or the Test#4 DP?
The other thing to consider is that Ryan's update pack was designed to work with the RVMIntegrator. Nlite works around this by it's own method. I'm not sure of the details, but it usually sparks off a flamewar of which method is better.
In almost every case around here where people have problems with kb888111, nlite is used in conjunction with the RyanVM update pack.
Might be a coincidence...or it might not.
Anyway, try integrating from a virgin source using the RVMIntegrator (updatepack/addons to start), then use nlite(removals/tweaks), then driverpacks. It's my method and works rather well.
Agreed, that is a VERY good idea.
Pure magic!

OK, cool. I checked the specs on your notebook earlier and 1024x768 was standard but 1400x??? was an option. That's why I asked.
Glad to hear it worked for you!
Yes, please test the new release and report back good/bad results. We can only tell if we fixed something with feedback from users like you.
Busel wrote:Test3 drivers tested on "Compaq nc6000" with "ATI mobility radeon 9600/9700 series" ATI Control Panel installed OK.
Were all your resolutions supported? Just checking.
My three entries:
"Supporting your hardware when your OEM won't"
"Takes the 'sting' out of driver integration"
"Automated Driver integration...the easy way"
G_A Test #4 is up!
First post updated.
Changelog from Test3 to test4
D\G\N\1
-updated nv4_go.inf to include new HWIDs and to remove all traces of [nv.nViewHelp] and [nv.nViewPanel]
Helmi wrote:Do you think that the problem is that the HDA fix is not being applied via DPs_Base?
No, but probably not properly applied by Ryan's.
DriverPacks BASE does not re-apply the fix because that could break some stuff and trusts in the Update Pack to have properly applied it already.
I can vouch that Ryan's update pack v2.1.11 has KB888111 integrated into it.
Helmi's correct, integrating KB888111 twice into your source may break some dependencies. I'm not clear on the specifics, but RyanVM & Bâshrat the Sneaky collaborated on that function of the DPBase for this specific problem.
The errors I found were in G_A test #2, test #3 is the fix.
Test #3 ready for download now.
G_B Test #3 is uploading now (slow upload rates
)
Update.
I found errors in the nv4_go.inf file. I am fixing them and will upload the new test DP soon.
For those interested, the errors are:
[DestinationDirs]
nv.nViewHelp = 18 ;(files not referenced anywhere)
nv.nViewPanel = 11 ;(files not referenced anywhere)
These two entries are referenced multiple times under {copyfiles} but don't have any files referenced to them.
[nv4_mobile]
CopyFiles = nv4.Miniport, nv.Display, nv4.icd, nv.Panel, nv.Help, nv.nViewHelp, nv.nViewPanel
DelFiles = nv.oldrm, nv.delete.systemfiles
RegisterDLLs = nv.RegisterCPL
I don't know enough about nVidia drivers to remap the files needed for these entries...so I'm just deleting the references.
I've deleted all of those references (they're not in the nv4_disp.inf file).
I hope this fixes all the problems for geforce go users.
jtdoom wrote:Mr_smartepants has worked very hard on all three graphics DriverPacks, and finished three testpacks today.
Yeah, and my wife is very angry with me too.
jtdoom wrote:I see some Dell Latitude laptops in your list, and current version of Graphics seems to have have a problem with some.. My very own attempt to solve the issue was not good.
<speaks through scotch induced haze>
I will try to fix this over the next week. No promises but I will try my best. Dell does some freaky things with their drivers that I need to figure out first.
Well, I know that KB888111 is needed to detect High Definition Audio devices correctly. So if you don't have HDAudio, take it out. The other KB item is to fix MIDI audio (which nobody uses anymore).
Thanks Jaak, that sums it all up nicely.
Kal wrote:Hello mr_smartepants,
I have a bug that had been introduced with the last version of Graphics_A. My install freezes at T-34. Here is a post where i describe the problem :
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=1690
Do you know how can we solve the problem ? Do you need extra info ?
Kal
EDIT : Here is the hwid niformation of my graphic card :
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0167&SUBSYS_81C9104D&REV_A1\4&266C3FA7&0&0008: NVIDIA GeForce Go 6200
I don't know what's going on with the nVidia drivers. They should be working fine.
I'll try breaking them down again and see where I went wrong.
First post updated with new driverpacks to test A, B, & C!
*Edit
I found a few bugs with the .inf file supplied by nVidia. It references files not included in the latest release. The first file I found referenced was "nvcodins.dll". I'm downloading the international nVidia package again to see if I can find these files. It's probably something I did unpacking the installer. More to follow. <drinks large scotch>
*Edit #2
Found the line where "nvcodins.dll" was renamed "nvcod.dll"...all is well. <refills the scotch>
*Edit #3
Found entries in [DestinationDirs] not referenced anywhere else in the .inf (desktop or mobility).
nv.nViewHelp = 18
nv.nViewPanel = 11
For those of you encountering issues on nvidia_go hardware, unpack the archive, go to D\G\N\1 and open nv4_go.inf, delete those two references and repack the archive and try again. This sctoch is going to my haed...<drooools>
I'm going to try and create these missing entries...tomorrow and reupload. Test #3 coming soon.
The only difference I could find is after DP integrated, these are added:
[ProductCatalogsToInstall]
KB921401.CAT
KB888111.CAT
It's been discussed twice here:
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=299
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=828
Why they're being integrated by DPBase, I don't know. Maybe Bâshrat the Sneaky can shed some light on the subject.
I know for a fact that DPBase will NOT install KB888111 if it detects RyanVM update pack was installed, not sure about the other.
I'm not sure what you mean. We do not 'tweak' the drivers themselves. They are factory standard ATI/nVidia drivers.
We do however modify the .inf files to support more graphics chipsets than the factory would like.
Specifically, we add mobility chipsets and tweaks for widescreen monitors.
Stability is our primary objective.
You're right. It's a mess in there.
But, it all works OK.
When you get the hang, does the .NET 1.1 installer finished? Or has it even begun?
I use RyanVM's update pack v2.1.11 and .NET AIO (.NET 1.1, 3, runtimes) switchless installer at T-13 and everything is perfect.
Post your svcpack.inf text please.
Muiz, I have a working solution.
I'll upload the Graphics_B test DP later today. I'll email you when it's done. Have to go to mother-in-law's house now.
muiz wrote:err..... no idea what you talking about
Sort of like what we do with the ATICCC in Graphics_A.
I'll see what I can do.
T-13 is the SVCPACK stage of install. AFAIK, the only items installed during this stage are contained in the %cdrom%\i386\svcpack\ folder...nothing else (unless you have a .cmd file in there pointing somewhere else.)
Can you post the contents of your svcpack.inf file? (it's a CAB compressed file normally named svcpack.in_ and it's located in the i386 directory.)
