For some unknown reason, apart from the 3rd party DriverPack host, the FTP access never really works for me.
I can download (and always do smile) nightlies just fine, however, uploading anything is impossible for me hmm

Is that because of your internet connection?  Or your FTP software?
I use FreeFTP (http://www.brandyware.com/freeftp.htm) and apart from the limited interface, it works just fine.  It's free, and comes in 10 languages, and the best part is there's no crapware (toolbars, widgets, etc.).

Yes, I know.
The G_A 7.07test2 DP is all-inclusive (ATI & nVidia).

I have the G_A 7.07test2 DP built but I can't upload it.  The DSL connection at this hotel is crappy and keeps cutting out when it's about halfway done.
I emailed the changed files and instructions to Jaak (he emailed it to Muiz).  Presumably, it'll get uploaded today or tomorrow.

Jaak will have to answer that one.  I was not involved in the Intel troubleshooting.

You are correct, but there's nothing to be alarmed about.  Jaak (jtdoom) modified my original DP and re-uploaded using the same file name (fixed an Intel issue).

Thank you for pointing that out.

Updated MD5 and changlog for G_B test2

@Team members:  This is why it's important to post MD5 hashes with your links.

I'm curious (@one of you on the team), does Text Mode cause any conflicts at all?  I mean, what is (if any) the downside of Text Mode?

Well, the only downside I can think of is that you would lose the prompt for "Hit F6 to load RAID drivers".  Not the functionality of F6, just the prompt. Enabling Text Mode makes the F6 option automatic (so you never see the prompt).  Let's put it a different way.  If you enable Text mode, and during the Windows install beginning you have a floppy disk in the drive with SATA drivers on it, the installer would use those drivers without asking as well as the drivers on the CD because that option was automatically selected.
I myself do not use the mass storage DP nor Text mode since my hardware has no use for them.

G_A 706test4 failed at the same point, have not seen 707test2 but have little faith in the newer NVidia drivers support for aging Geforce 4x0 Go cards.

Was reading around and discovered the dell released v84.69 which installed w/ no problems.

Can I disable G_A's support for my card and go 3rd party with 84.69, or can I replace d\g\n\1 with 84.69? I only care about supporting Dell's Nvidia's up to this version based on the hardware I use. I don't want to drop G_A completely since I also have a system with a Radeon x850XT.

Is there a chance you guys could split Nvidia support further and move what HWIDS need 80's series to a separate folder since it looks like the 90's series is no good for older cards?

To be blunt, I have no faith in nvidia's drivers either. hmm
Sure, you can rip your HWIDs out of the .inf file in G\N\1\ and make your own unique folder with the decompressed drivers you need.

Splitting the DriverPacks...That decision I'll leave up to our more senior leaders.  I can see your point.  I've done something similar with the ATI drivers since ATI themselves point to older drivers for their older cards even though we had the older HWIDs in with the newer drivers (no more).

I'm uploading the new 7.07test2 G_A dp right now.  I used a modified nv4_go.inf file that I hope will solve your problem.  It's going to take a while to upload since I'm on such a slow connection at the moment.  I'll post the link in the "Testers wanted" thread.

Both G_A and G_B 7.07test2 DriverPacks are being uploaded now.  Connection is really slow so I might have to try again tomorrow.
The general consensus on other websites is that the nvidia 94.24 drivers are buggy and can't be used by some systems.  Since it's a WHQL release, we're sticking with it.  However, If it proves to be a serious problem for some, we may have to revert to the earlier drivers from G_A 7.03.

Argh!  I'm really beginning to hate HDAudio!

Why there is no file DP_Chipset_wnt5_x86-32.ini and DP_WLAN_wnt5_x86-32.ini? These files are very necessary to Me!

Basically, ini files are not needed for those driverpacks.

Why are they needed in the first place?  We use the .ini files to make exceptions for the DPfinisher.
For instance, you wouldn't want the ATI Catalyst Control Center to install if you have an nVidia card, so in the Graphics_A DP we wrote an exception that roughly reads:
IF EXIST C:\ATICCC.ins file AND the D\G\A\1\*.inf file contains a matching HWID for the system THEN EXECUTE D\G\A\1\ATICCC.exe

Easy.
Custom .ini files can be written in the same manner if you need it.  Or you can post a formal request and we can take care of it if it would benefit everyone.

I hope this explains it for you better.

Graphics B test was updated for INTEL section.
Can you link to that?
I used graphics_B_test_4 and did the intel update/fixes in there, and uploaded with new name.

Done!
I linked to your changelog at this thread:
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 862#p12862

I'm going to look into this but I'm not sure who's at fault.  nVidia's website and drivers are a real pain to work with and confusing as h*ll!  So much for a 'unified' driver package! sad
And the nv4_go.inf file is not perfect either. sad

There are two test driverpacks in the other thread.  The latest 7.07test1 is ATI only, so don't grab that one.  The other 7.06test4 is the one you should try if you haven't already.  I'm going to update the 7.07test DP to #2 to include the nVidia drivers in the next day or so.

I agree with Helmi.
The stability and usability enhancements far outweigh any performance gains (or losses).
The new 7.07test#1 is done.  I rewrote the mobility.inf file from scratch and there are many improvements.  I went through line-by-line and cleared out at least a dozen typos, old references, and duplicated HWIDS (ATI QA should be shot!).
This mobility.inf file should solve MANY of the issues we've been seeing on these boards lately.
I'm still trying to upload, but with the power outages and flaky DSL performance at my current location makes this unbearable.
I'm going to try to steal access to a hardline to the router this afternoon and upload directly.

OK, I added support for the Xpress 1250 since that wasn't included in the latest 7.7 Cats (file listings are the same though).
But there's a HWID conflict between your x2500 listing and the official ATI inf.

"ATI MOBILITY RADEON X1700" = ati2mtag_M56, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_71DE

That same device ID is listed as x1700, not x2500.  ATI's driver download page doesn't even list an x2500.
I'll add support for that subsystem listing but if there's any conflicts, it's gone.

You're going to get MOM errors if you try to install the ATI Catalyst Control Center without having .NET already installed (t-13/svcpack recommended).  The ATI control panel does not have this problem.

Can you post your DP finisher log?

Ok, that was more than I needed, but thanks for answering the question.
I'll bump the HWIDs against my .inf and I'll try to upload tonight.

Hey guys,

I just did an install on a Toshiba L35 (psl33u) that has a ATI Radeon M200. The video was not installed, and ended up with the generic display adapted after setup completed.

Unfortunatly, I did a 'No, No' after I was done and forgot to collect the HWID's of the system, and do not have access to it anymore. I ended up downloading the display driver from the Toshiba site for the L30 family, and worked without further issues.

~Dave

Thanks for the feedback.  The 200M chip is supported by the new 7.07 test#1 Graphics_A DP I have on my desktop.  I've got two more tweaks to add to it (x200/x300 and ACER HWID) and I'll upload it for general testing.

"ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M Series" = ati2mtag_RS480M, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5955
"ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M Series " = ati2mtag_RS400M, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5A42

Yeah, I read that too.
I'm running the new 7.7 Cats on my notebook right now and they're running fine. I already have a new Graphics_A 7.07 test DP built but I'm debating uploading it now after what they wrote.  Well, the improvements I wrote into the mobility.inf file should make it worth it.  If it's crap, we can always roll back to 7.06 test#4 (7.6 Catalyst).
I'm still trying to figure out how to upload to the testing server using this crappy connection.
More to follow.

First, welcome to Driverpacks.net! smile
Second, to answer your question, you need to put all of your downloaded driverpacks into the 'driverpacks' folder where your DPBase.exe is located.
Third, I'd recommend reading through the new tutorial here:
http://64.40.146.141/handbook/beginners … riverpacks
or the original tutorial here:
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=1449

Let us know if you have any other problems.

Yes, like Helmi said, please post your HWID.  The more we get, the better these driverpacks will become.
The new HD 2x00 series mobility chips should be supported by the existing Graphics_A 7.06.1 test#4 with just a quick mobility.inf edit.
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=1642

I'm working on the Graphics_A DP using the latest Catalyst 7.7 drivers.  But the new mobility chipsets won't be supported unless we get those HWIDs.
smile

Unfortunately, I won't be able to upload any test packs until I get back from my business trip.
sad
Busy, busy, busy!

*Edit,
I just noticed the driver linked in the first post is over 130MB!!  hmm  I can't download something that size on my crappy connection.
