Topic: Conexant HD Audio / HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP Drivers

I've searched this forum high and low for these drivers and came up with nothing that has worked so far.  I did come across a test driverpack but am unsure how to use it.  I've extracted the files and there's a "DriverPack_Sound_B_wnt5_x86-32.ini" file but I don't know how to install drivers from an *.ini file (only *.inf files).  There are several *.inf files in the archive but which one to use?  To get to the point quickly, I'm trying to install sound and modem drivers (apparently the same device) on a Toshitba P105-S6177 running WinXP SP02 that was apparently built completely for Vishitsta.  I've been able to find drivers for everything but the sound and modem and really could use some help.  The topic where I found the driverpack test was closed and the moderator who closed it said to email him/her but his/her email is disabled from this site so here I am opening up the same junk but hopefully this time we'll all get an answer that works?  I think I have the system device "High Definition Audio Controller" installed correctly but you never know.  It's not showing up as a yellow exclamation but neither are my audio and modem devices and they don't work.  I've searched for "P105", "P105-S6177", "Toshiba", "Conexant", and more on this forum and don't get ANY hits.  Just created my membership so don't know if that's the reason or not.  Here are the HWIDs and compatible IDs I'm working with strait from Vishitsta:

By far not an expert in solving driver issues...however, I have an excellent history with http://www.allexperts.com answering technical computing questions.  I'll be sure to reference this forum when drivers are needed and I can't provide an answer.  This place is great!

Re: Conexant HD Audio / HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP Drivers

it is difficult to find drivers for toshiba laptops the ones made for vista, with no xp support - i did one myself last week its tough.

get your actual hwids and post them you can also use them to find drivers.  thats how i did it.

HWID's.exe

is a program to get your true hwids.

Argh!  I'm really beginning to hate HDAudio!

Yes, save the nice audio capabilities (24bit/96kHz recording/playback), it doesn't really offer anything over AC'97 (7.1 works with that, too).
The predecessor also behaves much nicer in terms of easy installability and driver support (no KB888111 and all that stuff *sigh*).

The only reason we're seeing it pushed so much nowadays is because of the "better" copy protection by alowing secured (as in non-recordable) audio stream playback.

The customer, once again, does not profit from this, but the big media companies do!

Overflow - I'll post my HWIDs as requested.  Mainly I would like to test Helmi's test driverpack but I don't know how to use it.

If you haven't noticed already, you can find it in our sigs wink
It's also part of the BASE, anyhow, so you can take it from there as well.

Err, which one?
Don't remember having created one lately neutral

Sorry Helmi...it was muiz who posted the driverpack.  It's in a thread that you closed by request; the topic URL is:

Post #35 is where I found a test driverpack posted by muiz that as it seems nobody had tried and I would like to try it but don't know how.  These are my HWIDs your program found:

I know it's probably going to be a b#t(h to find these drivers as I've looked everywhere and had no luck.  I'd really like to try that driverpack though and see if it works.  Thanks in advance for any help provided.

Official support for this hardware is difficult.
Try a similar driver. Basic function may work, special function maybe missing.

Prevous mentioned http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content … 06203a.exe

Hello again.  Similar problem with different machine.  A Compaq Presario F756NR with Conexant HDAudio not working well with XP.  I have a driver that makes the sound work but volume controls, AUX in, and headphones do not work.  Sounds are emitted even though on mute and/or headphones are plugged in.  Anyway, my HWIDs are:

Any help in finding a driver for this sound would be great.  Thanks again in advance!

By far not an expert in solving driver issues...however, I have an excellent history with http://www.allexperts.com answering technical computing questions.  I'll be sure to reference this forum when drivers are needed and I can't provide an answer.  This place is great!

Re: Conexant HD Audio / HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP Drivers

hello dsfcom and welcome back.

please read the tutorial in my signature that explains how to use the Driverpacks Base program to add the drivers into your installation disk.

the thrust of what we do here is to slipstream the drivers into your installation disk so you don't have to hunt down drivers.

i think you may misunderstand what we do.

We don't find drivers,
We take requests for drivers. Our users provide thier working links for good drivers  TO US

WE provide the method of adding drivers that have been brought to us and add them to your installation disk.
the driverpacks base program currently will add our driverpacks to;
windows 2000,
windows XP and
windows 2003

for the  x86 32 bit versions of those platforms.

were glad your here and we will help if we can but....

try to keep in mind this is is not the "please help me find the driver for this" forum.

thanks for asking so nicely and being so polite it makes us want to go the extra mile for you !

Apologies for misusing your board.  It worked great the last time.  Perhaps someone with a similar problem might come across the post and have a solution?

Re: Conexant HD Audio / HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP Drivers

I sincerely hope it works great for you again!

it was my hope that you would try using driverpacks base to add the driverpacks to your install!

This might just cure your driver problems permanently!

I did not consider your post as misuse or abuse - i just felt the need to clarify ...

and you did state "I did come across a test driverpack but am unsure how to use it."
So i was trying to lead you to that answer as well...

We are glad your here! your posts are clear polite and contain excellent descriptions!

please feel free to visit us anytime.

one other thing that may help you if you are not really interested in slipstreaming the packs is this alternate method of useing the packs
Can a Drivers Only CD be created with DriverPacks?
