the problem is with driver signing... the dpinst tool will not properly install an unsigned driver.

the mobile drivers are not WHQL signed  wink this is an issue with the ms tool DPInst... and as far as we know there is nothing that we can do about it...

slipstreaming the drivers VIA m2 continues to be the best method to add DriverPacks

I have a thought... try this...

edit DP_Install_Tool.cmd and add this line  "%SystemDrive%\DSPdsblr.exe"

IE

Echo. & Echo. & Echo Running the MicroSoft Driver Pack Installer now !
Echo The progress window is minimized to the task bar & Echo. & Echo.
%SystemDrive%\DSPdsblr.exe
Start "MicroSoft Driver Pack Installer Tool Running" /wait /separate /realtime /min CMD /C DPInst.exe /c /s /sh /lm /el /sa

let me know if that works!

are you useing the DriverPacks LAN plugin?
if you did did you move / remove teh \net folder first before building?

OK i have some questions for you...

where did you get driver updater...
what is it? and why are you asking us why it is broken?

???

Edit - Oh that is the Jaws App... you should post in that thread! wink
Other wise Jaws may not be aware you are haveing an issue.
jsut put a quick note over there with a link to here big_smile

Please Read Read before you post http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?pid=4#p4

especialy #5 - Can we reproduce your issue based on your description?

what steps would i take to get the exact same error you got.
Do i need a certain kind of hardware to see it? IF so use the HWIDs tool in my signature to provide the HWID.

In Example - I used BASE 8.12.4 with Graphics A 8.12.1 to create a SAD disc selecting M1 and Nvidia control panel OLD. When I attempt to run Dpinst.exe  on a machine with an nvidia 440mx it tells me the driver is FUBAR and then there is a loud popping noise as my monitor bursts into flames. the flames are red and yellow with an occasional hint of blue. I was able to repeat this result with a second monitor. replaceing the videocard also burnt a third monitor but the flames were more of the Blue variety and resulted in a much thinner puddle of goop.

Here is my DriverPacks DPs_BASE.log

and my hwids for the card...
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_00F1

the result of running base on your source - should leave you with an updated source that is ready to go!

if you are talking about bartpe there is a base feature that creates a plugin for that...

I need to check it out, I never heard of it... I have always had ghost so I never needed to look around wink

But i have grown quite a fondness for opensource freeware of late wink

Im downloading it now! thanks for the tip!

if you care to edit the hive - you can do it on the ISO wink

the answer is as early in the process as you wish wink

svcpack.inf might work nicely wink

more info here http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/27/

i will assume since the suggested user creation there is at T12 (around cmdlines.txt)
that since svcpack.inf runs just prior at T13 that is as good a place as any.

Yep, I agree. Longhorn ntldr is a no-go license-wise. Which is unfortunate because of the functionality it has: a) increased memory limit; and b) automatic HAL detection and swap.

Wouldn't it be great if MS made the file legally downloadable for use with XP or whatever you wanted! But I doubt they'll show generosity in this way.

Regards,
Galapo.

We never thought they would cough up something like dpinst either wink

Perhaps good things will come to us in due time wink

in the mean time you could buy a server license everytime you install XP LOL

Our thanks to you for sharing with us here at DriverPacks! big_smile

Thanks for the most kind words...

Yes the code looks perfect...
Although you guys seem to have already discovered that the problem lies elsewhere wink

DPs_BASE.log - description of your process - HWID of offending device(s)

Read BEFORE you post in my signature... good answers follow good details TIA

Welcome to DriverPacks and we are looking forward to assisting you!

One of the UBCD4Win guys probably knows... they stop by here occasionaly but you might get a quicker response at ubcd4win.com wink

have you tried the DriverPacks graphics plugin ? ? ?

did you read the other thread in this forum?
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 735#p28735

Thanks for the good details...

As Jaak always says "Help us to help you" and good details are the key to that wink

the read before you post is a good outline i always recomend reviewing it right before you start a topic or right before you save it, it may spark a memory of a detail you forgot about. wink in this case telling me you always modify presetup would have imediately told me where the issue was wink

Thanks so much for your feed back and please let me know if I can help!

Have a great day and best of luck!

Jeff

ROFL tongue now I am in tears too.

I'm so glad falconfour stopped by...
- Every one seems to be having such fun... big_smile

It seems to me our no noobs policy is perhaps shortsighted in light of the fun they seem to be able to offer us

it will only use the newest pack

That log is no good it shows base was opened and closed and no slipstream was done wink

mute is in OEM\bin\DPsFnshr.7z and should be extracted by presetup and then run when finisher is performing KTD on the target machine wink

KTD is now obsolete
please take a look at SAD as a replacement for KTD wink

DPinst does not work as well as integrateing the drivers with base.

If it is possable i recomend you use DriverPacks not nLite or DPInst. I realize this is not always possable but it is prefered since it works so much better wink big_smile

@ JakeLD he is talking about normal textmode integration (WinPE)

by taking the time to figure out which file needed updated you saved yoruself from haveing to edit the txtsetup.sif

Very very well done thanks for the details. JakeLD will probably swoop in and update Mass for us. smile

Thanks for clearing things up for us sir... Yes we can and will help you.

Please remove the link from your post for us...
Obviously there was a misunderstanding, sorry, We (I) don't mean to be harsh.
We have very few rules though and it SEEMED as if you had infringed on a big one wink.

I wish you the Best of Luck and our warm Greetings.

Welcome to DriverPacks!

Jeff

for some reason MUTE.EXE is not running.

Perhaps if you provide some details... IE DPs_BASE.log and some details about yoru process to create your disc?

cdob is correct searchin for .org filse will lead you to any base changes.

in most situations you can let your ISO creator do this for you... they can optimize multiple links to a singe file in the TOC and only burn the file once to the media (ISO) i cant remember teh name of this optomization technique off the top of my head sorry...
