Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

Sure, I'm grabbing the latest drivers from Wacom's site now.  It looks like pretty standard stuff and there are a few workstations at my place that this will come in handy.  I'm surprised I hadn't though of doing this earlier.

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

This in turn makes the addon useful for TabletPC machines as well........

The Pro driver I pointed you at has loads more functionality than and replaces the default Wacom TabletPC driver.

As always, many thanks!

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

You may want to check this out.  It looks identical, only a little more recent.

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

Thanks.  It looks like Wacom is cutting out serial connect support (USB only).  Which would be fine except that most (all??) Tablet and slate PCs that have an integrated Wacom tablet connected via a mini-serial internal adapter.

If you wouldn't mind giving this a spin.  If it works out for you, I'll update the top post.  The drivers will hopefully install during PnP enumeration and then an installer should kick off from the DPFinisher.

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

probably overnight, family stuff is awaiting......

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

Hello RogueSpear,

Could you update a Synaptics TouchPad Driver to the latest version, please?

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

Theoretically, you could do that yourself (that's kind of the point with the 3rd party DriverPack).
However, if you feel very unsure about it (even after having read our tut), that's no problem to request an update.
However, I would think of it being considered very kind include a link to the file/the DL page so that the person going to do the update does not have to search very long.

If you feel extra kind, you may even point to a changelog and other additional info smile

Thanks for your understanding!

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

Hi Helmi,
Yes, I have understood you smile
Here is a link for the latest driver: http://drivers.synaptics.com/Synaptics_ … 8_XP32.exe
Simply, I very much would like a last version of this driver...

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

It's on my list.  Along with several Logitech updates.

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

Updated

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

RogueSpear is on fire. big_smile

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

works fine with my particular (laptop) hardware mix of a Wacom tablet, synaptics mushpad, and a MSFT trackball.

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

Hello RogueSpear,

I am sorry, but I founded a more newest driver for the Synaptics TouchPad, here is a link for download it:
http://rapidshare.com/files/156370632/s … 0.exe.html
Sorry, but I very energized at this moment... )))

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

As we try to use unaltered drivers whenever possible, could you at least (if not additionally to the RS.com link) link to the place you got it from so we can check it's legit?
Not saying there's reason to mistrust you, just a precaution.

Helps keeping track of changelogs, too.

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

I'm not even going to consider entertaining drivers posted to file sharing sites.  If given a link to a vendor site, I'll inspect the driver's files and .inf to see if it's worthwhile.  The Synaptic driver included with yesterday's release is the most recent on Synaptic's web site.  If I had to guess, I would think that the driver you mention is a custom / modified package for one particular vendor.  While this might be just fine for that particular vendor's hardware, it may also be completely unusable for any other vendor's hardware.

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

D\3\H\LS\LKbdPs2K.inf contains *PNP0303 which is the id for Standard PS2 Keyboard on Acer notebook model 5715Z and is not installed correctly.

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

In DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_81021 inserted driver from Vista.
If you use it when you install XP PS / 2 Keyboard (XP) is replaced by the driver (or chain) here d\3\h\ls information LFKBDHID.inf for "Logicool HID-Compliant Keyboard (106 keys)", which is designed for Vista and above ...

Worked on Windows 8.1 Pro

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

Looking at the .inf file myself, it would appear to be for both Vista and pre-Vista operating systems.  I would imagine that I could break the driver signing by cutting out all of the Vista specific code.

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

Yea it looks as though I may need to chop out the Vista stuff.  But this makes me wonder how it installs properly to begin with hmm   Well this is going to be a pain in the neck.

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

RogueSpear, if .inf file contains *PNP0303 or *PNP0213 (or other compatible with PS/2), that driver will install on any keyboard PS/2 or mouse PS/2. But if you'll chop out all standard PS/2 HWIDS, signing will break, and driver not install at all sad

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

what about many modern motherboard without ps/2 ports of any kind?

Re: [CLSD] DP_HID_wnt5_x86-32_90204

and my OLD ones with the big DIN? wink big_smile tongue
