1. Yes, Windows will always use the latest version of a driver.
2. Correct again, I could only think it would cause a problem if there is an issue with a newer driver. This is unlikely anyway, especially as we have a lot of testers here.
3. No idea.

We need the original driver files - can you tell us where you downloaded them from?
I use CDImage to re-create the ISO image as well - http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/15/
I can't help with the nLite stuff I'm afraid.... but...
1. The CPU pack is for AMD CPUs only, so you probably should.
2. LAN drivers are for ethernet cards, so you should include this also.
3. WLAN is wireless LAN, I'd include it even if it don't need it as re-creating the XP CD takes time.
4. Mass storage are various IDE/SATA controllers that don't have Windows drivers as standard.
My basic thought is you may as well include as much as possible, as you never know down the line when you will need those drivers. You may not have wireless internet now, but what happens if you get one 2 months from now?
I'd be surprised, 7-zip manages higher compression than a lot of other formats (including RAR).
1 - Can't help with this one!
2 - yes, this is perfectly safe (as long as you don't need those drivers of course!).
But still, when you compile the kernel for your CD you still pick with drivers you include in the kernel/as modules.
You can't compile modules on a different kernel and then try to use it on another kernel, it won't work.
Bâshrat the Sneaky - err, the MassStorage DP was updated by me with a newer Intel MSM driver!
Isn't DP for Linux is a bit redundant? Most Linux drivers get included in the kernel itself eventually, it is only the binary drivers that can't be included.
ftp://driver.jmicron.com.tw/jmb36x/Win2k_xp_Vista
Link to Jmicron site itself for driver! Updated on the 12th Dec according to the filestamp.
Looking at the test DriverPacks, both the chipset & graphics include newer drivers then the one your mention. So that may help from the start!
Cool, close this then!
Yup, 20" Core 2 Duo iMac - very nice. I'll give that program a try anyway.
Anyway, I don't have anything that uses these drivers so I'd prefer for someone else to do them if they've got access to them. Otherwise, I'll go for it anyway!
Pending anything else, this has been done and added to the nightly. Can be closed.

I don't have a Realtek NIC, but I found this just now.
Does anyone know of a 7-zip program for the Mac?
Just a random thing, but I've had no luck getting RIS to work with an ICH8 controller in AHCI mode. It works for ICH7 ok though in AHCI mode. I wonder if there is something odd about the hardware IDs or something. Maybe just me!
Sorry - which post is that? I can't see anything obvious?
Hi !
Here you can read about it :-)
http://www.intel.com/support/network/sb/CS-023726.htm
Thanks for the link, that is interesting. Suppose I'll need to update our drivers on installed systems now! Doh!
http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts … p;lang=eng
This is weird, I've got two linked posts that are the same.
Anyway, I'll update this driver shortly if no-one else feels the need to first!
Out of interest, do you know what the security problem is?
I don't use it in the "normal" way, but basically.
1. Download Base & all driverpacks you require.
2. Copy XP CD to HD.
3. Run Base, point it to where you copied XP CD to and run it.
4. Re-burn the data to CD/DVD.
Done!
Debugger, that is a different driver and I get the device fails to start if I use it. On the plus side, I was able to extract the 4 files required from a Windows folder so I do have them.
Is Bâshrat the Sneaky around, I'd like to confirm it with him, but I'd agree it is a chipset driver IMHO. If so, I can update the chipset DP also. Maybe worth sticking the Infineon one in anyway mind.
Ok, it didn't fix it (good job Muiz anyway!) but I know now what it is - I was able to get the driver via Windows update and it was "STMicroelectronics Trusted Platform Module". Using "stm_tpm.dll" and "tpmddl.dll".
So - Bâshrat the Sneaky - do you want TPM drivers included in the DriverPacks? If so, which one (chipset?)? A new one?
Not that I can find an actual download source for them yet and I don't know to download drivers manually from Windows update.
Im banned thx to someone from also this forum.
I can go there on another pc here with other IP , but i dont even want to go there anymore.
More i cant say about this here ,was oftopic enough already.
Well that sucks! FYI, here is the Google cache!
What do you mean? You can't view that link?
