I did mention earlier that Intel had posted Intel Network Adapter Driver18_1 CD on their web site and here the DriverPacks were subsequently updated to include these new drivers.

The drivers for XP w/SP3 and XP Pro x64 w/SP2 worked on my #1 system when I did an update using the Intel 18_1 CD download. But, the next day when I booted in to either XP I could not go online - got a big red-x across the Network Activity Symbol in the task bar - had to roll the drivers back - both XPs then got online ok.

Have no idea what the problem is - figured I'd mention it here so others are not surprised if they use the updated DriverPack to install XP and are then wondering why they cannot get online (assuming the problem occurs for others).

Will try to find the appropriate place on the Intel web site to mention the problem.

Sorry Chief, been super busy lately.

Once you have XP installed the installation of Win7 should cause no problems; it will automatically create a multi-boot menu allowing you to select which OS to boot into at start.

First - my mistake - I should have written: IDE/AHCI/RAID - change it to IDE, XP is supposed to have the drivers.

DriverPacks ARE NOT compatible with nLite - use the RyanVM Integrator instead: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/ and http://siginetsoftware.com/forum/

In the BIOS - is there an option for the hard drives: IDE/SATA/RAID? - If the default is SATA select IDE and try again - the XP installer includes IDE drivers and changing the BIOS should allow you to complete the installation. (At least that method worked here when I installed XP Pro and XP Pro x64 on an ASUS Rampage IV Extreme motherboard.)

Comments I've read today say update 11 is not a good 'fix' but merely a patch pending a better solution by Oracle

I guess I'll have to wait till December to see if there is a quarterly release.

Downloaded 12-10 drivers for Win7/8 yesterday - also found they had posted 12-11 beta .

NO listings for XP - rumors are that XP updated drivers may have ended. Might be something to watch; if so then Driver Packs graphic A updates for AMD/ATI can be ended.

Download the file: Intel_LAN_17_4_CD.zip from Intel (sorry about not posting the link - I dowloaded the ZIP file earlier today from the ASUS forum and I don't have the link) and you'll have all the 17.4 drivers and applications.

ASUS Radeon 7900 installed here:

AMD Radeon

PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6798&SUBSYS_04421043&REV_00\4&6B104DA&0&0010: AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6798&SUBSYS_04421043&REV_00\4&D6F7D86&0&0018: AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series

Latest I've heard is that Intel has released RST 11.6.0.1030 - is at their download site (sorry I don't have link handy).
