Hi Helmi,

Sry for interrupting you.

Nah, don't worry smile

But my meaning is, in near future, everyone will have a DVD-Drive in their computers (not only because of the cheap prices of around 10EUR or sth.)

Yeah, that's what you'd assume but unfortunately it's not the case hmm (and really I could buy a drive for those two PCs, but I really don't see the need atm).
Just look at how many games still come out on CDs *yuck*
Every game using more than 1 CD should be forced to use a DVD.
I hate playing DJ...
Why can't politicians make such laws? big_smile

Can you perhaps post me your nlite.log or tell me what i can delete for components with nlite to get a real windows without any hard errors? smile
Always when i remove sth, the installation says a thousands of errors and ends up with a BSOD.

Yes, of course!
Until sometime at the end of last year, I'd always create my UWXPCD manually, that alsoincludes manually adding drivers etc.
So nLite was like Godsend to me smile
Been working absolutely fine so far, and I kick out a lot really.

Also note that I use Sereby's Update Pack, which is more or less the German version of RyanVM.
Hence, I also kick out .NET, as it's being updated.
I also remove WMP10 since I much prefer using MPC.
For that and all other MultiMedia tasks, check out http://codecguide.com/

But this is ot... think it doesn't belong here hmm

Yes, but since we lack an OT or General UWXPCD forum, what can we do...

Actually my language on cyrillic character set should be::
?????????

The file looks like this, because your regional settings are not set to any  Cyrillic character set.

That's strange becaue I can read the above just fine (as in it's being displayed with Cyrillic charatcters)

Copying the above line manually pasting it as the file name it also shows up perfect.

What I was assuming is that's a different char set (ANSI - Unicode maybe?) that you used...

PS: Just trying to narrow down the issue.
Not that I'd ever use the language, but I'd like it to at least show up properly in the language menu wink tongue

EDIT:
Just tried with the pasted file name which looks fine in Windows Explorer but shows up as only "?????????" in BASE....
So is suspect it's less my system but BASE to be blamed.
Your original version shows up in BASE just as a previously posted - dunno if that's better than having question marks...

get nlite and rip chinese (or another not needed languages) from i386\lang catalog on windows xp setup cd wink

Indeed.
When I'm finished nlite-ing my CD, there's about 350MB left (and this already includes SP2 plus all the rollups and .NET) - and enough space for a lot of drivers to fit in big_smile

MSFT included so much stuff you don't really need that is absolutely save to kick out.

Uhh, that certainly screw up some Unicode...

üÛ½úáÓ߬¿
This is what your file looks like...

??????????
This is what (I presume) it should look like...

EDIT: Bâsh, didn't you say Unicode doesn't work on the Forum?
For me, it's displayed perfectly as it was intended...

What's the Problem?

Those ppl who integrated the whole DP A/B/C use a DVD to integrate anyway...

I beg to differ!

Still only using a CD here because I still have two PCs with only a CD-drive (why update when it still works and is sufficient?).
Then again, there's still some 20MB free on my CD, so I am definately not complaining!

I could always kick out some of the 3rd Party packs if needed...

There are already three versions (DP Graphics A, B & C) because of the size.
Splitting them even more and it's no longer a pack...

Anyway, just wondering, is this because of the support for pre-Radeon 9200 cards since ATi dropped that after CAT 6.5?
If so, maybe you could move those to B or C, as the reason for having a sererate A pack was, IIRC, because those drivers included received regular updates.
The way I see it, CAT 6.5 will be the last update for that series unless some serious bug appears so moving them to one of the less frequently updated packs is probably a good idea.*

*The above is lonely based on the assumption you did include support for those cards.
Since the changelog reveals nothing and I'm still DL'ing, I have no definite "proof" wink

EDIT: Just noticed the 6.06 pack is about equal in size.
So someone hasn't been up-to-date for some time wink

Ok, I finished uploading all of them minus the printer packs.

If someone else is willing to do this (I'm kind of stuck with a rather slow upspeed), go ahead, please.

Also, I didn't paste any links into the wiki yet - feeling too tired being afraid to mess things up wink

That's entirely possible, seeing as I'm still logged in and stuff smile

Uhm, the upload is running as we speak...

I did a test DL and it worked.

So, I'd say, the system is live already

That's really great of you!

Will upload the current ones and update the links in the wiki.

It's just ~1MB so even with dial-up it's not too much to cope with.
The bugfixes are certainly worth the, err, wait wink

Also, if you don't mind, how do you proceed once a new DP has been released?
Those things weight in a couple of MBs alright...

And another update:

Stupid AVG, LOL

Guess they aren't too fond of drivers, then...

Don't worry, the file in question will not be in the next version, so you don't have to get yourself a new AV just because of the DriverPacks wink

Alright, here you go:

http://files.dodnetwork.com/download.ph … utorial.7z

If you still want the PDF, just tell me, but it doesn't look nearly as readable.

Cool beans.

I'll try myself on the German version then wink

Works for me, so I'll upload the saved file (MHT) for you in a bit.
Tried making a PDF out of it but it f***ed it up seriously hmm

Nice!

This is good news.

I'd hereby like to let you know my interest in participating as a beta tester smile

Not sure if it will cool down enough for me to do exaustive testing, but if it does, I'll surely create another disk to try on my testing rig. big_smile

That really depends on how much space you have for the DriverPacks to take up.
Method one will extract all the files and use the CAB compression, while method two relies on the much better 7-ZIP compression.

If you're going to create a DVD anyway, you can savely use method one.
Although, there seem to be some bugs with this, so it's saver to use method 2 ATM.

If you only create a CD (say, the PCs you want to use it on don't have a DVD drive), there's no way around method 2.

I've always been using it and I don't see any reason for me why I should go method one.

I assume installation would work faster on slower systems with method one, but usually, speed is not my main concern, as it never takes more than an hour to fully finish installation (and I use lots of add-on packs!).
