is there official support for RT lite?

I was using latest nightly by that time it was 909r6.
Sorry I can't test I2 anymore since its my daily to use laptop now and I dont think its possible to test drivers in VirtualPC..

OK but I am not sure what to do...

I found I1...I4 in the ini file. But wich line should I move? I am going to test I3.
So would it be enough to remove the text "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27C3&CC_0104" from the I4 part? Because as you said it is already in the I3 part...
EDIT: I tried this, with the same result. So if this is the correct way to test we now know it's also not I3.

Unfortunately since the laptop doesn't have any OS installed, I cannot give the HWIDs.
But I do have the intel drivers from the HP website. it's sp32478.exe, when I extract the exe and the .ima I get these files.

I do not have a (usb) floppydrive sad

Sorry for long time no response. I just tested with only the latest Monitor (3rd party) pack and all other Driverpacks and BASE 90201, I can select 3rd party. So I cannot reproduce the bug.

I also updated the issue in the bugtracker, #507.

Wow, I always thought the XP driverpacks were both 32 and 64bit! I never realized it's only 32bit. Otherwise I would have voted for this loooong time ago!
Now that I have a 64bit cpu (wich I didn't have before) and 4GB RAM I am already working on my XP-64 unattended install. But now that I realize there are no driverpacks sad:(

I can't really understand the Vista hype... most people I know had Vista for no longer then a year then switched back to XP. It seems more a Windows Millennium version of XP to me (and with a nice theme and some other stuff you can make XP look even better then Vista). Unless you really need DirectX10, again, to me, the only reason to ever use Vista.

dammzzz all the driverpacks have 86-32 in their names... I should have realized this!

1 BIG vote for 64bit!

edit: and isn't Win7 actually just Windows ME III? I haven't found a list of real benefits compared to XP.

Might not be useful info but I thought maybe v9.1 CCC didn't support 780G graphics so I downloaded the CCC installer (only contains CCC, no driver, no other app) and installed it, after reboot CCC is available and works just fine.

Mr smartepants, the second line clearly does not match right?

2009-02-04 20:46:33 : <FLTR> ! Could not match +infFile"C:\D\G\A1\CX_72271.inf" through the HWID "PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9610&REV_00"
(original HWID: "PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9610&SUBSYS_D0001458&REV_00") (1 of 3 +infFiles).

The first part has &REV_00 where the 2nd part has &SYBSYS_D0001458&REV_00

not sure if thats it..

Weird! I simply start Base, press > a few times untill I see the list of driverpacks and 3rd party is greyed out. Every time I start base 9.02.01!

Thnx for the compliments but its really not a big deal, in my daily job I am confronted with IT testers who can't learn how to report simple issues.. so I know how frustrating that can be.

OEM folder does have the file ATICCC.ins
This time tested on the same machine with the same Base version v9.02.01 and all Driverpacks, nightly versions if available. Graphics A version 902n1.
My finisher log: DPsFnshr.log

On a 780G chipset system: Gigabyte MA78GPM-DS2H (integrated Ati 3200 HD graphics + 128 ddr3).

Driverpacks integrated on a XP SP3 system, integrated in XP SP3 + latest Windows updates.
I've chosen all except graphics C. No KTD, finisher run via runonceex. MassStorage text mode. And ofcourse Method 2.

All went well, the videocard driver was installed correctly. But Ati CCC has not been installed.

Ofcourse I'll add hwids if necessary, but since the ati driver is installed correctly I am not sure if it is necessary.
(btw it is the first time on this system that this driver installed flawlessly. Lots of trouble with this chipset, had to remove cmos battery and discovered I also had to disconnect HDMI cable otherwise when windows starts up, the graphics card will fail and there is a black screen while Windows continues without problems. Strange, changing RAM didn't help. Battery removal to reset bios + disconnect HDMI + install Gigabyte driver cd except CCC first before installing newer driver, helped. But now for the first time it went all well without using the gigabyte cd. Only CCC is missing)

EDIT: just noticed, Graphics A 902n1 released.. will test again (tomorrow evening).

whua thanks man!

Thanks. It's now official, bug 507. Reported it as Minor since you can simply continue without the 3rd party packs and the other packs are not affected.

http://bugtracker.driverpacks.net/view.php?id=507

oh and if you want me to retest, let me know wink

I downloaded Monitors driverpack and cardreaders driverpack, put them in the 3rd party driverpacks folder. Then started Base, the checkbox for 3rd party driverpacks is greyed out.
I am using WinXP SP3 32bit. Could this be a bug (couldn't find it in the bugtracker) or is it necessary to update the 3rd party packs to work with the latest Base versions?

(I have seen things like this happen, NO bluescreen.. at cold boot one sees BIOS.. in windows Pnp, blackness.. changed RAM to other brand with different timings and windows loaded just fine.)

Ok I have a Athlon X2 5600+ and 2x DDR2 800MHz 2GB. I know the 780G actually performs best with 1066MHz memory, but I already had the 5600+ CPU and I thought that CPU couldn't work with 1066MHz. I am going to find someone with 1066MHz modules and try..

But, I am pretty sure the OS continues normally when the screen goes black, because when I use my uA CD, it installs some software at first guiboot and I know that software got installed. Or is this also what you mean?

if Windows says new monitor found, I let it install yes. But I do not actually have a disk for my Toshiba LCD.

I did a lot more testing:

# Windows XP SP3 + MassStorage. Installs fine.
Then I install the motherboard driver CD wich contains an old Ati driver. Express install never finishes.. It hangs on Ati Parental Control & Encoder. The pc doesn't hang, but the installation doesn't finish and it forces itself to be On Top in such a way I can't even open the Taskmanager to end the process.
## now the same but I Install the drivers from motherboard CD manually. Again Ati installation hangs on the same thing, but this time I can kill this subprocess and install finishes.
Restart --> success! I have a signal on my D-SUB connection. Getting image on HDMI is impossible.

### now the same but after installing motherboard driver CD manually, I install the newest drivers from Gigabyte. Again everything works except HDMI!

### I shutdown pc, conncect ONLY HDMI cable, start the pc. I get a signal on HDMI but it's 640x480 and whatever I do, Display properties or CCC, if I try a higher res, the resolution stays 640x480. The screen doesn't even flicker (I expect a flicker to see the res change). Also in CCC and Display properties, it shows it's still 640x480.

### I try Clone mode (attach a 2nd pc monitor via D-SUB). When using 800x600, I get 640x480 on my TV. If I try anything else then 800x600, I get no signal on HDMI.

#### Now I install the latest (8.12) driver from AMD website. After the restart, the resolution is 320x??? or so and with 16 colors. Also I get a message that CCC is not supported by this hardware. Changing the resolution has no effect. It stays that way.

On the AMD site I've read that there are problems with HDMI but they should be solved in the latest versions (after 8.5). But the latest (8.12) clearly doesn't work.

This SUCKS, because I bought all these new stuff after using the same pc for 5 years. And I put it in a beautiful Silverstone case. And now it doesn't work... I am even considering putting it on ebay or so and buy me a Nvidia 9400 + Intel proc but I've been AMD fan all my life..

Ofcourse I could try clean install (incl massstorage ofcourse) and then the latest driver from AMD website. Can't remember if I did that already.. but all this isn't very motivating..

EDIT:

## After clean install of Windows, installing 8.12 from AMD site, no image via D-Sub and HDMI. Can't see so have to use my clean backup again sad

GA-MA78GPM-DS2H (rev. 1.x) (the one with 128M Sideport since rev 2.x doesn't have Sideport).

Even DP_Graphics_A_wnt5_x86-32_812b1 did not work, same result.
I tried starting in VGA mode and then change res to anything above 800x600 --> screen goes blank.

Tried clean windows install and then the Gigabyte driver CD that came with the mobo, after restart --> screen goes blank.

It seems my brand new mobo is broken sad:(

But hey the massStorage pack did it's thing, so all this is off topic.

OK ok, well it worked, but I didn't get very far. After first GUIboot, I do a reboot. After the bootscreen, when you expect to see the logon interface, the monitor doesn't get a signal. The pc continues like there is no problem, but the screen is black.

Restarting in VGA modus and removing the graphics driver helped. I hope the drivers from gigabyte website work.
Ofcourse I could try the nightlies, perhaps I'll try that later.

At least this mobo is supported by the latest (unreleased) massStorage.

Haha ok thanks I am going to integrate the RC version smile
But if it works for magon it should work for me too.

And ofcourse XP SP3, I thought it wasn't worth mentioning big_smile

Hi guys, perhaps I can deliver all the input needed.

Mobo: Gigabyte MA78GPM-DS2H (780G chipset) with AMD SB700 southbridge.
I have only 1 SATA drive, a Western Digital Black Edition.

All new, so I use my Windows CD with driverpacks integrated, Mass storage latest version. @ Overflow, on the Mass storage download page and version history, it says 8.05 and nothing more.
The file name is DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_805.7z. You tell me wich version this is exactly wink
I downloaded it from the official download site: http://driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/download.php?pag=m

After all the storage drivers are loaded, I get the screen where you normally choose the destination partition to install Windows, or you can create a partition to install it on.
Now, I get an empty list! And when I press any button, I get a blue screen of death with the following message:
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

and at the bottom it says:
*** setupdd.sys - Address F74159A8 base ate F73ED000, DateStamp 48025277

So it seems the incorrect mass storage drive has been loaded.
When I set BIOS to Native IDE instead of AHCI, I do get to see my harddisk, I can create a partition (since it's a brand new harddisk) and continue with Windows Setup.
I will install in IDE mode, and get the HWIDs. Do I need to provide anything else?

Isn't it a bit strange that this happens? The 780G chipset is very common and perhaps this mobo (with Sideport internal memory for the integrated graphics chipset) isn't very common, it's the same chip.

DPs_base.log: http://ifile.it/23pnqgk

Hi there, now that I am renewing my uACD, I see the installation of the drivers is taking a lot of time because all driverpacks that I have integrated are being extracted. I wonder why driverpack Graphics B and C is extracted when I install on a pc with a Ati videocard? Same goes for Sound. Is it not possible to check the videocard type and soundcard type before extracting? It would save a lot of time...
Just an idea. I suppose the part of the program that extracts all the drivers would need a big update. And I do not know if it is even possible.

Yes I thought about that,
but it wouldn't really make any sense if the image (test A) has different drivers installed then the ones provided on their manual installation disk..

The bad thing is, it's my girls laptop and she's in the UK for a traineeship, she uses the laptop for work and as tv. So she couldn't leave it here (NL) for me to test more. I know someone else with the same laptop, but he lives a bit far. But I will have to test with his laptop otherwise this will never get figured out.

hmm I could try ask my girl to create a backup, do test A and copy the drivers, then put her backup back... hmm will she have enough girlpower to do that
I'll report later.
Thanks for the response!

Unfortunately, it still doesn't work. But it has nothing to do with the driverpacks:
test A: When I use the Medion recovery rescue disc (it's simply an image of a preinstalled configuration: Windows MCE, a bunch of software and drivers), I can login, everything works.
test B: when I use the Medion windows disc, containing Windows MCE and I install the Medion drivers manually, I get the problems described.
test C: When I use my CD (Windows XP pro + RyanVMs updatepack NL, no Xpize) with the driverpacks, I get the problems described.
I tried both test B and C (without driverpacks) with newer non-Medion drivers instead. Also fails.

I've had many many PC problems, both hardware and software, but I cannot solve this.. can't find any info either.. very strange.
If test A would also give the problems, at least I could send the laptop to Medion..

Since it doesn't seem to be caused by the driverpacks, this thread may be closed.

thanks!

No it does not...
I am using the Dutch updatepack by MEULC: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.p … 9d0bff8711

When I check the contents of his updatepack, I cannot find a file named RVMUPPCK either. I do find MEULCPCK.IN_
Could that be it?

Sorry I wasn't that clear, I slipstreamed Ryan's Update Pack NL, KB883667 NL and DirectX december Sereby's Update.
