Didn't there used to be a debug version of the fake setup.exe?  I used to remember one a long time ago that would show the dos window during driverpack extraction.

@mike  Nobody is claiming you are wrong.  It's just nobody has seen your bug before and it is a difficult one to reproduce. The DriverPacks roject is still a work in progress.  Allthough it is pretty rock solid it still may have it's kinks.  Bashrat has asked you to submit it to the bugtracker cause that is where he likes bugs listed... so he can easily look through that list and work on each bug.  That way none of the bugs are forgotten.  It may be an incompatability with the new dpbase and sereby's updatepack.

Is your svcpack.inf file a unicode file?

Actually it depends on what you are editing.  Some files can be edited in raw while others need to be hex edited.  I have made some functions that will do it for you.  I just need to know what files you need to edit.  Then you can use my functions to edit the file by showing the path to the file, the text or hex to find, then the text or hex to change it too.  Etc...  They come in very handy.  Hit me up on IM later today.  I should be online for most of the day.  Or you can allways PM me at Ryans forums. (That's probably the easiest way to reach me if I am not on messanger.)

Sorry I missed you on IM today.  I can definatly help you with the coding needed for adding support for BartPE.  I have a lot of code in the RVMIntegrator for help in editing files and hex editing.  The code I have should make it very simple for you to implement.

I just need a simple idea of what exactly you want to accomplish and a couple of files you want edited.  Let me know exactly what needs to be edited in the files you send me and I'll send you some functions you can use. wink

Anything I can help with the DriverPacks the better. Cause like I have said in the past... the DriverPacks are a strong influence on why I created all of my programs. wink

Do not remove ASMS  it is an important directory.  The integrator actually compresses a lot of the files inside asms saving you a some space.  So it is safe to compress the cat and dll files in there with makecab. wink

I know you need testing on the multiboot stuff... sorry I haven't had a chance to yet.  I have gotten very busy latley (again). sad

As soon as I get a chance I am gonna check it out. wink

No problem.  It was rather funny when i knew for sure it was a typo. lol!  I have to say it has to be the funniest bug yet. wink

@McStarFighter  Bashrat has added the adsencse to help him pay his bills.  They aren't meant to make you mad. wink  I am sure bashrat is looking into a way to have the banners removed for donators but that may take some time.  Just be patient.

Here is what you can do.  I have done it in the past and it does slim things down.  Bashrat would have to verify that this method is safe but I know it has worked for me.

Extract all of the sound divers Then compile them all into one big sound driver. It will be able to compress better and will save some space.  You can either use this as a 3rd party driverpack... or you can do what I do and name the driverpack to the same name as Sound DriverPack A.  I would think that it would install the control panels and stuff better if it is not used as a 3rd party pack.  You can also do the same thing with the graphics packs as well.  You wouldn't want to compile all of the DriverPacks into one big pack due to the fact that certain packs do certain things.

Here... I just bent over and pulled these out of my ***:
$$$

LOL!

No big deal Bashrat. I'll just put a note in my programs calling you out for a donation too! Haha.
Don't worry about it. wink

Right now it doesn't make driverpack files but that is the idea in the end.

So far I have it grabbing the 3rd party drivers from your system for you so you can create a driverpack with them.

Once I am satisfied with how well it grabs the 3rd party drivers then I will make it create the driverpacks for you. wink  So please... everyone test it out for me. big_smile

lol I laughed at first... then I was like.... "Maybe Bashrat is serious... maybe I haven't sent him as much money as I should have?"  Don't worry Bashy... I'll be making another donation soon. wink

Just wondering if this might be a typo in your about section?

Siginet (Please consider making a donation to support the development of the DriverPacks.
If you use the DriverPacks for professional goals, I ask you with urge to make a donation.)

sad  You want me to send you more money?

I do use the DriverPacks for professional goals... and I have donated to the project.

I'm pretty sure this is a typo... right? sad

The # means which command to perform first.  You don't need to add anything to your existing runonce file.  The DP Base takes care of that for you.

As for the double quote...  That is a typo created by the DP Base.  It will be fixed in the next version.

937 would be a good ID to use in your case.  It will make sure the DP Control Panels are installed last. wink

I just released Windows XP PowerPacker v1.0 RC8 Beta4 which has support for the new DP_Base. smile

I did not use the built in multiboot features yet.

I'm gonna have to play around with it a bit and see exactly how your built in multiboot feature works.  Because just using regular disc mode may work the best for the way PowerPacker utalizes the DriverPacks.

BTW my neck is feeling much better since my last shot.  Hopefully that means it is healing without surgery. smile

I've made a donation too. big_smile
I've got 2 extra left nuts I can donate if you want. lol! j/K!

It's been kinda postponed due to my pinched nerve in my neck. sad
I just had a shot in my neck the other day.  It is supposed to trey to tone the pain down... but it hasn't helped yet.  It actually made it worse.  So I can't really stay on the computer very long at a time.  Hopefully my neck pain will ease down a bit in the next couple days and I will be able to code for the next powerpacker beta.  I've just been popping in here and there... but I'm only sitting at the computer for a few mins at a time. sad

Oh... just one more...

SPAM! big_smile

If we did that then the DP Base would have to rebuild the .7z file as well. Which could take a long time.  If it didn't rebuild the .7z then the patches would take up a lot of space.  When the drivers are compressed together it saves a lot more room.

I beleive vista is very different in the way everything works.  I doubt if it is possible just yet for Bashrat to add Vista support.  But I am sure as soon as we find out how... Bashrat will add it.

Yes I know the discussion of it. wink
ThX.

I personally think that an autoupdate for the DriverPacks would be not needed yet.  Sometimes a new bug has a chance to slip into a new DP... so if you have a stable DP you wouldn't want to autoupdate it until you have tested the new one.

I would like to see a way to manually update within the DP Base gui though. smile Like the DP Base is updateable now.

It is Bashrats decision either way though.  He's doing an excellent job as well!

I agree with you on the autoupdate.  Auto Update wouldn't be needed much yet.  I may have been talking like I meant Auto-Update... but I actually meant an option to update the driverpacks manually through the DP Base. wink My bad.
