Thanks for responding BP. Good to see you.

we actually have our own svn server for our apps, we don't use it for the packs.

I C what you are up against now, no problem. It is an excellent solution for you / us.
We have specifically not allowed using an svn for the packs in the past,
we will certainly allow it for your extenuating circumstances.

thanks so much for your help.

Jeff

I do not understand why smartversion is required. the packs are not ready to use as is?

We certainly don't know, perhaps contact them at their website.

many reputable programs get flagged falsely. DriverPacks BASE has been tagged a few times by third rate AV programs, simply because it was written in autoit. Not a very good reason, and of course those reports were not provided by a top ten AV program. The providers did update their databases to correct the False Positive, after much time was wasted.

one must consider the source, and number of sources, that claim a file is malware. An AV program that is provided "free" and then tags a file as "virus" without any specific reason is worth what you paid for it tongue. False positives are the biggest waste of time to any PC user. You won't see many if any FP results from the top AV programs.

there is another third party installer recently posted here http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=10794 by Badpointer

haven't gotten much feedback yet. but it seems like a real winner.

I'm sure Romeo will get his hosting issue solved soon... but in the time being you could give snappy driver installer (SDI) a try. If you were to give us some feedback that would be even better big_smile.

functionality trumps time stamp or version

and he has only been here 6 months tongue.

"Pack first - Worry later" <--woo hoo!

the nt5 packs are quite difficult, NT6 are not. you simply need to maintain the base folder structure.

No one has ever made a perfect pack and we all have made mistakes, we try not to repeat the same ones big_smile.

if you are willing to try we are willing to help. Jaak always said "help us to help you".

@cheche no real guide step by step. there are guides around here in the FAQ and team sections. I can't belive you never got added to testing team sir!. YOu are now!  Welcome to the circle of trust. he he he.

@techdud Thanks for the b-day wishes, 51 now. were you aware that your post is completely OT? LOL
the folder structure we just discussed the other day? the structure should be compatible with SAD. We can certainly make changes in the future but we would need to plan it as a team.

OK, lets keep this simple. I know you said not to take any of the above out of context, but I have to.

You read the above and know that FF was banned for piracy. and distributing our work with his piracy.

YOU just admitted that you downloaded warez, and were using them for learning materials???
We have a special kind of reward for you because you engage in downloading and using illegal (pirated) software in addition to whatever payload has been embedded in your image.

Thank you for attempting to make one point, and making an entirely different one.
WAREZ are not tolerated... Period. here is your official DriverPacks "Banned" card.

I deleted the recopy of gollums post, its lengthy and makes the thread too long, the original is right above.

While I appreciate the effort to make a persuasive argument, your paragraph lacks structure and focus. Perhaps try printing a rough draft on paper and reading it to yourself before posting it, that might make for an easier read for us.

cheers m8

PS It is not necessary to warn anyone about the rules. Everyone has to check that they read and agreed to the rules  in order to join. Someone else's lack of planning and/or poor choices does not constitute a problem for us. We do not have to be reasonable, we try to be, but it's optional.

PS I re-repaired his link wink.

they will be posted as they are assembled. Bluetooth is being tested now, thanks to a new member here Josywong.

you will need to check the forums for release candidates or wait for release.

bluetooth forum has details and links for that, others will likely follow soon.

this is self serve around here, try hitting the "new posts" button at the top of the page and see what's public.

since this is a NT6 pack there should not be NT5 (only) drivers at all.

Drivers that support all nt6 platforms would go in all - some of these drivers might, or might not, support NT5 OS's.

All = NT6.x (all NT 6 Platforms, at least) NT6.0 NT6.1 NT6.2 NT6.3
Vista folder would be for drivers that ONLY support Vista. 6.0
only win7 6.1
only win8 6.2 6.3

if there are no drivers that ONLY support Vista then the folder may be omitted.

Thanks for the help josywong, it really means a lot to get help with the packs especially when it is a lot of help...

good job!

our old friend Jaak always said "help us to help you" by sharing you help to achieve this both for yourself and others.

we prefer
START %systemroot%\D\SAD2\DP_Install_Tool.cmd /sr

as it compliments
$OEM$\$1\D\SAD2

but you are headed in the right direction.

this is really awesome stuff big_smile.

then we need to update the title from REQ to IMP. big_smile

I took care of that for you sir !

I tried three or four of the win7pe builds, didn't like most of them LOL.

can't remember which one i liked now rofl. I have just been using the one image i like.

It makes us aware of the missing HWID either way... (it is a request) It's being helpful, and we like that big_smile.

If anyone spots this post and reports a superior driver (tested know good) we'll add that instead / also.

thanks to both of you for helping us to help you, that is the spirit of our ethic and the grease for our wheels.

Welcome to DriverPacks SxC.MS54

the topic and the question are totally valid and appropriate to our forum.

Will you share with others how you solved your own question?

you may help others in your situation.

That is freaking awesome!!!

instead of posting here when you have a test pack start a thread for it with a good title.

NT6 x86 Bluetooth 14-06-30 [beta / revision / final]

I have gotten all excited and added you to the testing team,
since you are a donor you could view the posts there before, but now you can start new topics too.
Aaaannndd you are eligible for a highly coveted new userbar big_smile

the folder format for SAD3  is

<snip>%SystemDrive%\D\%F_CPUarch%\%F_OSType%"...<snip>

So if SAD3 is trying to delete/cleanup the "Server" folders on a NT6 x64 system, the target path would look like this:
C:\D\x64\Server\*
and
C:\D\x64\All\*

so...
D\x64\All\3\ (3 for Third Party DriverPack)

we are talking about BlueTooth so BT? or Blu?
D\x64\All\3\BT\your driver here

if it is for Win7 only then
D\x64\Win7\3\BT\your driver here

Vista only
D\x64\Vista\3\BT\YourDriverHere

Looks like you did it perfect ! ! ! yea!

to compress the packs we use this 7zip command tool that badpointer gave us.
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 538#p57538
it splits the pack into two streams, that way the info files can be searched quickly since they are isolated.
you don't need a large dictionary in most cases, 32 is fine for most stuff, read that thread for more info smile
we can do that for you if you get the files together big_smile big_smile big_smile.

I have not written finisher for nt6 yet... INI files are not yet used.
This will be a top priority once i start coding again. I thought i would have more time when my kids got older???

Happy Fourth of July! (Do you still celebrate mr_s? he is the only one lighting off fireworks today... lol)
