I'm trying to avoid overposting.  Maybe for the next revision.  Update of TI PCIxx12 & PCIxx21 Integrated FlashMedia Controller drivers v_05/25/2009,2.0.0.10(win-all) @ this post:

http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 119#p43119  cool

Would the Jmicron 1394 controller be more fitting in the Mass Storage packs?  Also, the JMicron PCIe SD/MMC Host Controller, etc may be duplicated.  Would the card readers not also belong in with Mass Storage?  Thank you again for your tireless efforts. yikes

Is this eMachines EL1210-01e still under warranty?  If so, they were bought by Acer.  http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2 … teway.html
You may have a legal right to downgrade, you should have a right to support within the warranty period.  http://www.microsoft.com/oem/en/licensi … ights.aspx
                                                                                                                                                 http://www.microsoft.com/oem/en/licensi … ights.aspx
You might want to enquire with them if eMachines division are dragging their sorry butts (much like a dog with worms! mad) just because the desktop was only ~$300.  Of course, the longer you have to deal with their support services, the greater the cost to them.  Remind them, they may hasten an answer to their website to prevent further losses.

Perhaps there is a 'F6' driver disk that you need for the SATA controller.  What is the HWid of your SATA controller?
A USB floppy drive may be necessary - or a thumb drive.  I'm not sure which way this will work with XP, unless you have an old floppy drive (that reads/writes PROPERLY) & a port to plug it in.

This attempt at an answer has been brought to you by, the need to remove eMachines BIOS from any & every desktop board available to me, personally!!! mad:D:mad:

There's always the HID USB mouse prank:   http://zedomax.com/blog/2007/04/20/garr … nk-device/

Another prank involves a HID keyboard & micro-controller dongle, installed into the end of a busted usb cable.  It looks to the average person as a usb cable ripped in half.
Plug it in to someones machine (good luck finding it in a bundle of wire!) & it will wait for the machine to be idle for 3 minutes, & then start a macro to say, move the mouse around, open up programs.  When the user interacts, the timer resets.

Oh, hey, I found it.  Maddening! lol

I like the fact that their drivers support Virtual COM ports.  http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

Oh, yah!  What would I do without my 17-channel LPT logic analyzer?  http://www.codeproject.com/KB/system/17 … lyzer.aspx

I2C Bus, SMBus, ModBus
    PS/2 Bus
    SPI Bus
    Asynchronous (RS232, RS422, RS485)
    Infrared Remote Controls
    Smartcards

MUST read:  http://www.codeproject.com/KB/system/#Device+Drivers  cool

My hope is that someone will help ME learn more about HW interfacing & device driver programming.

Willingness to pay is one thing.  Ability is another.  Would a charge for download be tantamount to charging for another's SW?  I recall the experience of Daniel_K being sued by Creative (until literally thousands of users on Creative's forums complained - & they couldn't keep up with the posts they 'needed' to delete), just because he had repackaged their faulty, feature-disabled software-drivers, enabled full 7 support (even for the SB Live! series) & was accepting donations. roll

May i give it a shot?
I have a RT2870 package ready. (12/27/2010, 3.01.08.0000).  That was, until i discovered a little bug in v4.00 of WinRAR!  Such a surprise to see extra binary characters included at the beginning of the inf file!  SacreBleu!  Pardon my french. A little bird has told me this is due to a little-endian UTF-16 problem affecting only the file viewer.

I think i'll be using MD5 signatures for now, until winrar4 is more mature, just to be certain.  Maybe it's time for me to switch to 7zip (i've been waiting for 7z to emerge from beta, though.  Ahh, v9.20 IS out of beta!).

Hmm, there is no HWid in the RT2500USB file for the Wintendo NiFi Dongle.  (%Ralink.DeviceDesc%=RALINK.ndi,USB\VID_0411&PID_008B)
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en … oadUSB.jsp

Would i be correct in assuming that none of this hardware requires cisco's LEAP, PEAP, CR-EAP to function?  My original intention (just to include ralink drivers for xp) with the Nintedo WiFi was to simply use it as an ordinary WiFi adapter.

OK, this would be the same as Bufallo's WLI-U2-KG54-AI   http://www.buffalotech.com/support/downloads/  (driver from 2004?)
as referenced from http://www.digifail.com/text/wfchack.shtml & https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ … _Connector

Does windoes 7 support Software AP modes?  Can it 'walk & chew bubble-gum @ the same time' with ICS?  Does any of this really matter with this updated driver & newer (or hacked) Wii firmware? hmm  Funny thing, since i have an atheros WiFi card installed in my notebook, v9.2.0.104 driver come with WS, a WirlessIntermediateDriver v1.0.0.92.  It installed on the Nintendo WiFi USB, too.  Does this translate to better support for ICS?

These drivers have NOT been confirmed to work.  Can anyone confirm the WHQL status of any of these packs (or the lack) for xp?
RT2460         http://www.mediafire.com/file/7h3y10a6c … .1.0.4.rar

RT2500USB   refer to http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 639#p43639
          - driver signing for RT2500 series is probably broken - should the driver use ZeroConfig instead of Raconfig?
RT2860 & RT2870        refer to http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 830#p43830
RT6x             refer to http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic. … 633#p43633

These drivers has been confirmed (by me only - 3 separate machines) to work with XP, yet is still untested with the Wii/DS
  (Nice - 13.88Mbps down, 0.47Mbps up, 10ms ping - http://www.speedtest.net - only 0.8Mbps slower than my Atheros WiFi with v9.2.0.104) cool
  (0% packet loss, 22ms ping, 8ms jitter - rated A http://pingtest.net )
NiWiFiUSB     http://www.mediafire.com/file/un3pad6jb … WiFiUSB.7z
           - not signed, modified .inf, after installation on notebook, i changed prop's in the advanced tab, 'CAM when on AC' - enabled, 'Power Save' - Fast_PSP, yet i've since reverted, due to startup issues (conflict?) with Realtek AC97 sound.

If you like these, would you like me to do the same for any (if at all) missing drivers for Vista-7.x86 & x64? hmm

Here's a sample RT2500USB driver (modified inf) for Win7.x86 & x64 for Win7:   link removed ... updated below  big_smile
Tested with Nintendo WiFi USB adapter on Windows 7 x86 & x64 (works for me, hopefully you too!).  It should work with any RT2500USB device.

I appreciate your grit & determination.  Yes, the SATA RAID controller should show up with a different PnP ID.

I had nothing but trouble (& bluescreens roll) trying to get 7.x64 onto a DFI nForce 4 Ultra-D with an AMD-X2(now SLI & SATA2 RAID - thanks to adding a solder bridge on chipset & modding bios for latest RAID utility cool).  7 didn't even want to install @ first (thanx to nv's lack of logo'd SATA RAID drivers, etc).

It turned out that i needed a special boot cd to even get that far.  Even after solving the SATA RAID logo issue (many, many thanks to Fernando 1!), the bluescreen issue reared it's ugly head.  It turned out that the issue was somehow related to the SMB driver.

My brother doesn't even realize how indebted to F1 he is, yet i'm very thankful, as i was able to save face after gifting (for his birthday) what looked, at first, like defective hw.

I SLAVED a whole day over a hot (under-the-collar) employer (actually he was rather jovial) , to be able to afford the X2 & the 20x10x7 cm cooler mister 6-heatpipe cooler! big_smile  I don't want to turn this post into a bash-nv'fest (that would be TOO easy - g86 BUMPGATE).

I wonder what mobo & SiI BIOS you are using  beamish.   http://www.siliconimage.com/support/sea … 5&os=0
BEWARE, incorrectly applied BIOS modifications can render your hardware INOPERATIVE!  You may think you know what you are doing, yet still end up with 'dead' hardware.  It NEVER hurts to ask questions (sometimes it's the answer that hurts!)  Is your SiI RAID card BIOS socketed? (square chip - PLCC32, or DIP32 - DualInlinePackage?)  If so, who is the manufacturer of the BIOS chip & what are the numbers on it?  It might make parr-for-the-course to flash a spare (only if compatible, though)

Funny thing with my SiI 680A cards,  i was able to mod BASE BIOS v3.4.0   http://www.siliconimage.com/support/sea … 5&os=0
to RAID, just by changing the PnP ID's @ the EOF.  Tested & verified (by me) support in RAID to 1TByte.
I just need to acquire a BluRay drive to verify compliance (as SiI indicated).  It's so nice to have cards manufactured in 2002-3 with BIOS's from 2009 running them! big_smile

I have a pair of nForce 2 boards & a nforce 4 Intel Ed. that i'm willing to 'guinea-pig', yet it will have to wait until next friday(edit: postponed til May).  I've been looking forward to testing the 'SoundStorm' capabilities on both (even though one doesn't officially support:rolleyes:).

Perhaps, for personal development, 'optional IDE driver registry cleaner (made by TwL)' could help avoid interference of other driver versions.

Forgive my impudence, would SATA, & PATA (IDE & RAID) v6.99 be possible for nForce4 series boards - other than Intel (see lack of supported HW for 4xx series)?  http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_winxp_15.23.html

nForce 7 series:
790i SLI, 750i SLI, 780i SLI, 790i Ultra SLI, 710a

nForce 6 series:
680i LT SLI, 650i Ultra, 650i SLI, 680i SLI, 680a SLI

nForce 5 series:
570 SLI AMD, 560, 590 SLI AMD, 570 SLI Intel, 590 SLI Intel, 570 Ultra AMD, 550, 520

OK, finally!  Using similar SMSC IrCC hardware, it turns out that the 6.2.6000.2 driver DOES work like a charm with XP.
big_smile
Apparently i was experiencing either an incompatability with the SigmaTel IRDA module at a physical layer level, or a defective SigmaTel IRDA module. roll  If only i had another IRDA v1.3 dongle to test these hypotheses.  Maybe it doesn't matter, as the IRDA association has moved past IRDA v1.3 to IRDA v1.4, & now IRDA v1.5.  I do not dare hazard a guess as to the interoperability of these standards! roll

I don't know whether this helps at all, but for most nv HW, i've been using Fernando's packs (noncommercially - of course).
http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/xp-opti … 70968.html
http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/nforce-drivers-f28.html

Maybe this will only make for interesting reading (or not). Thank you, again, for your efforts.  nv has been such a PITA (remember - they admit to being a software company!)

Refer to the wireless user guide:   http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01851044.pdf
this is the latest win7 driver(according to hp):   ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48501-49000/sp48591.exe
it is very specific about the hardware id:

BCM43XNG22_NT61, PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&SUBSYS_145E103C

The latest driver (v5.100.82.15) that i know of is here:
http://consumerdl.lenovo.com.cn/UserFil … N44WW1.exe

Ensure the wireless switch (if applicable) is set to the on position.  Ensure that you know your WiFi password, you will have to re-enter it.
Use a program like 7-zip or winrar (for example) to right-click on the file, & extract the contents to a folder (IN6WLN44WW1 for example).  Navigate to the Broadcom\5.100.82.15\Driver folder.  Explore the folder that matches the version of windows you are using.  Right-Click on the Address bar, and...
For Win7:
select 'copy address as text'.
Left-Click Start.  Type devmgmt.msc & press enter.  update the driver for your wlan with 'Browse my computer for driver software'.  Right-click & paste the previously copied address in the 'Search for driver in this location' list box.
If this doesn't automatically find it you could try to 'let me pick from a list of device drivers' & selecting the 'Have Disk' button.
For XP:
select 'copy'
Left-Click Start.  Type devmgmt.msc & press enter.  update the driver for your wlan with 'Install from list or specific location'.  Right-click & paste the previously copied address in the 'Include this location in the search' list box.
If this doesn't automatically find it you could try to 'Don't search.  I will choose the driver to install' & selecting the 'Have Disk' button.

Beware, i cannot be responsible if this doesn't work, or messes up your system.  I hope this is of assistance, though. cool

New driver v6.0.27.6

I wonder if virtual ports can be made to work with XP (or later).  It was possible up to WinME

Craig's PCI Diagnostic software link is broken.

This proggy has served me well over the years, works on 7 too, although the device id's are getting a little long in the tooth.
http://www.halfdone.com/ukd/
the latest pcidevs.txt & usbdevs.txt (different format though) are available in the siv.zip at
http://rh-software.com/
Looks like this proggy will replace UKD for me.  xxxdevs.BAT automates the HWinfo collection process, including DMI data? cool

What are the HWID's for the Ethernet and (WLAN?) Modem devices?

Oops, this is over a year old.
