In the "Rules and Posting Guidlines" you agreed to when you signed up it clearly states:

If you create a post that says "I am looking for a driver for..."
(Especially if you have not used the DriverPacks at all.)

Then it's obvious that you failed to read this post and your welcome here may not be as warm and fuzzy as you might like.

Please read it - http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=4422

We don't email drivers to people. We provide the DriverPacks exactly for that purpose... did you use them???

Furthermore we support 2k, XP, 2K3, Vista and Win7. ALL of those op systems are Windows you knucklehead. that was REALLY not much help.

MINIMUM requirements for help would be to actually USE DriverPacks and provide the info requested in 'Read BEFORE you post' linked in my signature. Please note that your HWIDs are absolutely required for this type of issue. (tool linked in my signature). read the tutorials, FAQs and Read BEFORE you post.

Help us to help you! Details are the key...
Note: If you are not useing our DriverPacks then there is no reason to ask us for help, after all this is the DriverPacks support forum.

your welcome

I am not sure why the window would be black.... strange

As you can see windows setup works much better than dpinst... again I am not sure why...

I just know that it does.

Glad all is well for you now!

they guy who is hosting the FTP site is using port 80 for some software that he needs.

It's really hard to turn down super easy user requests like "can you add three words to the GUI"...
On the other hand it's almost painful for me to do it when i know the answer is in bold print in the Tutorial or on the main site. tongue

Ultimately... agreeing to add a few words to make them go away is MUCH easier than trying to explain to them how many languages are supported and that most likely only the english text will ever be updated smile. (implied people who speak other languages are much smarter and more diligent. they don't need their hands held because they are to lazy to read the freaking manual. tongue)

a perfect example of this is here http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=4541

Mass Storage is THE most difficult of the DriverPacks to get right.

X1000 wink tongue

i am working oin the head revision in my spare time... very soon... I agree the 10.x BASE seems really solid it will probably be a Release Candidate (RC) version I feel confident that it is solid but i want to address a few reported issues before going final. namely the reset of pack selections when the updatechecker is run, a note with the mass storage textmode selection to make it more noob friendly, adding a note on the downloads page that the packs are all NT5 ONLY... silly stuff mostly but improvements none the less. (It's rare that we cater to people who fail to RTFM but the implementations were so simple i could not refuse wink.

We ahve been having issues with the nightly server, sorry! It seems related to FireFox so try it with IE if you haven't wink.

Yes settings are saved on exit too wink

I'm not able to do anything about the site - I asked Wim to make a note of it there on or around the download pages.

I will update the Update checker page to say UpdateChecker for NT5 packs, just for totaly oblivious people...
beyond that if you can't RTFM and the clear and consise text in the GUI then don't bother to whine to us about it.

The start page of DriverPacks BASE does clearly state...

Supported destination OS platforms:
• wnt5_x86-32 (Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003)

If you don't RTFM or bother to read the clear and concise info on the first presented main application page then please don't blame us.

DriverPacks BASE supports 2000, XP and 2003 server so...

it would be extremely ridiculous to name it DriverPacks XP BASE.
If we were to name it DriverPacks NT5 BASE people like you would still not know what it was for. Please read the documentation, that is why it's there. If you don't (or won't) bother to read what we have already taken the time to write then don't expect us to change anything. What good would that do, you wouldn't read that either. wink

OR If you did not bother to read it where it is now why would you have us belive moving it around would make a difference? It is right on the opening page of DriverPacks BASE.

furthermore if you select a valid OS for the disc platform the titlebar of DriverPacks BASE indicates wnt5_x86-32... that seems pretty darned clear. Same for the Stand Alone drivers platform. Since BartPE only supports XP and 2k3 that eliminates any confusion there. No... clearly you just ignored all the indicators.

We led you to the water... we can't make you drink, even if we color it red wink

If you think this is harsh then I will suggest that you have not read our rules and posting guidlines either.

OK

then i assume it is not named properly

extract the pack remove the folder
open the packs ini file remove the section
repack with 7zip

While we appreciate your thoughtful attempt, we are not able to act without specifics.
As far as i know none of the team has one of these laptops to play with.

if you get a chance please post the HWIDs and links to the known good drivers, then we will be glad to add them.

Have a great day and welcome (back) to DriverPacks.

Looks good to me!

thanks a million, again!

Jeff

I love it...

It is rare that somebody stops by to say 'thanks, it worked great!'

That makes you DriverPacks hero of the day in my book... you rock!

Have an awesome day!

jeff

PS your feedback helps make DriverPacks better for everyone!

Hiya Helmi! Nice to see you big_smile.

The tutorial is quite old but the features, options and step by step instructions have not changed since then. (for a Disc install). SAD and BartPE have been added and the instructions for those are not relevant to slipstreaming the drivers to a disc wink. So while the screen shots show an old version i think you will find that the screen shots still match the selections on each of the pages. The feature to download the DriverPacks directly from the site was also added but I don't think that that requires explanation tongue. YES it is the same as in version 8 of BASE LOL.

I don't know why DPINST.EXE does not work as well as windows SETUP.EXE... You will have to ask MicroSoft who wrote both of those executable programs. (SAD is simply a wrapper for the MS supplied file DPINST.EXE.)

Wow... Yeah that is a wild error

You should just slipstream all the DriverPacks using 'Disc' method (select M2) per the tutorial.

That will absolutely work, and is the way DriverPacks is intended to be used for OS installation.
there is better than a 99.9% chance of success if you use DriverPacks the way it is outlined in the tutorial wink.

SAD is intended to update drivers on a running system

Excellent first post!

Pack version, HWIDs and a good description of what you did. HWIDs for both modes... Sweet!

That is how It's supposed to be done sir!

We will work on getting that fixed. Will you be able to test a 'nightly' (beta pack) when it's avialable?

Welcome to DriverPacks, and have an awesome day!

Jeff

We only add drivers from OEM sources... Third party drivers are never considered for inclusion.

Since you used M1 the drivers were cabbed by BASE. So no you did not but it was done.
When extracted the files will be WELL in excess of 1GB tongue.

Why is it there? We did not see any reason to delete it wink.

SAD is the alternative... see the tutorial (linked in my signature) for "normal" usage. [Slipstreamed useing M2]

you could post that on the docs section of the main page if you like Ricktendo!

Thanks for the help we can never have too much of that. thanks a million!

See the posted workaround in the other thread

Thanks for the HWID it really helps us to nail down the issue!

Be ready to test a nightly pack when we get one together big_smile

Well BASE is not able to detect shortcomings in applications or in drivers wink

That is what we need user feedback for smile

I will figure out how to implement an "exception" for this driver. - Since this is not neccessary for ANY other driver I will have to probably have to write some code into BASE and crete a new exception type in the packs INI file... IDK yet

At least you have done the hardest parts You found the BUG and have provided the fix. It's all down hill from there!

Thanks for all the good feedback it makes DriverPacks better for everone!

PS For right now you have posted the workaround for all to use! Well done!

Were having some technical Issues with the Nightly server ATM... I will post the link for you but you may or may not be able to get it

Mass 9.09.RC6

put that in the Plugins\DriverPacks.net\BASE\Driverpacks folder (with the other *.7z packs)
open PEBuilder select the plugins button.
Find #DriverPacks - BASE highlight that line and then hit the 'config' button.
your plugins will be updated automatically big_smile.

rebuild and burn / test

Report success or failure here TIA

@jcharaoui Got your HWIDs in the other post... You should have put that post here instead of cross posting. NBD I'll paste it here for you wink. It did make more sense to put it in the BartPE section but it is morelikely to get taken care of here big_smile.

BUG has been reported twice now, confirmed issue. post stickied.

@Deadlock can you post your HWIDs for confirmation that it is the same HWID?  Your post was a little light in details (good job including the pack version wink) Please refer to 'Read BEFORE you post' linked in my signature for future bug reports. Please help us to help you!

thanks guys your feedback makes DriverPacks better for everyone.

Jeff
