You are not missing anything....
Base will always be set to "NO" since the base itself is not a plugin - It is the plugin builder.
Only Mass storage is currently supported...
however some of our users have been playing with lan and having some success more details here...
(in the forum for BartPE)

We are quite glad your here!
and we're happy to assist - no inconvenience at all -
Your english is better than mine...
I never realized it wasn't easy to find on the site...
there is a donate link in the program on the about page.
You are right, it should be "a nice big one right on top"
the eleventh pack is the third party driverpacks...
NOT a good one... just two noobs learning the ropes...
3rd party DriverPack include optional items like printers - modems - monitors - phones - tv - cardreaders or one of you own design.

does the finisher ini exist in the folder "F:\Windows XP Pro SP2_EWC\OEM\bin\DPsFnshr.ini"
does it exist on the install disk? %cddrive%\OEM\bin\DPsFnshr.ini
can you open the version on the cd/dvd (is it corrupted)
if you run base and select "custom" for the finisher (and don't add it manually) it will not do cleanup. this way you can confirm that all the finisher files are in the root of the OS install partition. (and run the finisher manually after your investigation, if you like)
i need to execute 20 or more different runs on them to make sure they are solid before i put them on test as a beta.
there are lots of combinations to eliminate. text on / off, m1 / m2, with and without different types of packs.
RC versions are more like a hundred runs.
That is how i found and fixed all kinds of stuff. I test. not just a quick run useing my standard config.
I test every possable combo checking them off a list as i go fixing anything however small that i find.
i check to see if things were done i look at the files i read the logs (i check the cleanup).
if you want to help
instead of telling a senior member how they should be doing thier FREE work.
perhaps you should see if you can find a bug to report and be useful.

lets see your DPs_BASE.log & DPs_BASE.ini
Skip and Disable have different meanings -
(Or... why would we have two flags that mean the same thing - DUH)
Skip - means
not appropriate for this OS
Disable - means
since we have way too many drivers in mass for 2000 textmode, we have to disable some for text mode or setup will crash.
however we would still like PNP support for this driver, since windows 2000 is supported by the driver.
so if a driver is marked as skip and disable it doesn't support 2000 and neither text mode nor PnP mode drivers will be added.
or if a driver is marked as disable and not skip then it could be enabled for 2000 if another driver is disabled in its place.
it might be safe to omit the disable if skip is set but it is even safer to add both.
redundancy is good is good
it sounds so simple when you don't have a clue what is involved...
here is a thought... i'll code, you test...
for the problems jaak is attempting to explain
the fixes were implemented by me before I even told him about them.
since drivers are not released by chipset type only, no
thanks for includeing some of the files needed to help.
it looks as though you have manually edited presetup.cmd - and broken it
your title is your answer... figure out why settings file is missing.
This system works - if you dont break it.
since you did not tell us what you did we can't help.
use clean source (create a new copy of your install disk)
fix included in version on home page (Testers Needed)
as if sysprep were supported ;P
all versions that exceed the format Y.MM.V are by definition nightlies. (IE over six characters is nightly)
where
Y = year
MM = month
V = Version
this is a pre-existing convention
and it is possable many of the newer members may even be unaware of it.
so anything with a format of Y.MM.DD
where DD is the day of the month or a branch number and a version letter.
IE 8.01.1A or 8.01.21 would be nightlies.
and 8.01.2 would be the second official release in January of 2008
Wow what a great idea... very cool
i guess ill have to add motorola so i can have my phone in there too...
i think this should make the news page...
i just double checked you can use one parameter without being approved by Bâshrat the Sneaky
DPs_BASE.exe /settings:Your_Settings-File_Name.ini
you can include a path or it will assume same folder as base if path is omitted.
switches are already incorporated but are only allowed to Bâshrat the Sneaky approved Programs through an API call
you have the workaround...
based on the complexity and interaction of the settings
the ini settings solution is better for almost everyone.
not to mention possably exceeding max command line length.
ooohh the old not accidental duplicate trick ... tee hee.
i think i would like to try the raid only for text mode route (i have a si3112r controller here)
no you would just run
DPs_BASE.exe
if the ini is valid and the gui line in it is edited to
GUI = "no"
it will run unattended with the settings in the ini.
the down side to this is it has to be set back to yes to get to the gui.
you could play a shell game with the DPs_BASE.ini to do what you want.
please checkout the DPs_BASE.ini
you can preconfigure base in that way.
includeing no GUI.
