I'm sorry we can't help you better, AvWijk, but Windows setup + cardreaders are a known PITA... It amazes  me that you did not have these problems before using the DriverPacks...

Hey,

This is going to sound really strange especially as I cannot back it up. But there's a reason I don't use GUIRunOnce, something I've done to my installation means I can't but at the moment I can't recall exactly what that is that results in this limitation but it's my reason for using RunOnceEx in the first place.

Thanks for your reply and it's impossible not to come across rude but I can sure you it isn't my intention when I ask... can you answer my original question please?

laze.

Well, suppose this is the entry you're adding to your RunOnceEx batch file:

REG ADD %KEY%\055 /VE /D "Cleaning Up and Rebooting" /f
REG ADD %KEY%\055 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\cleanup.cmd" /f

Then you could NOT display a title (note that is theoretical and NOT tested) and still execute the entry by changing it to this:

REG ADD %KEY%\055 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\cleanup.cmd" /f

Note that you'll have to change this manually AFTER ROE.exe was executed, which directly updates the registry. An alternative approach is to choose "custom" as the Finisher method, so you can set the execution of the Finisher yourself. In this case, just make sure

%SystemDrive%\DPsFnshr.exe

gets executed, at whatever moment you prefer.

I've coded the program so that it uses the same proxy as Internet Explorer does, and if that doesn't work for authenticated proxies, then I'm surprised. Are you very sure that doesn't work?

Then use GUIRunOnce instead wink Check this FAQ entry for more info.

Then this topic is now closed, due to lack of response...

This driver must have been accidentally removed. This will be fixed in the next version of DP WLAN.

Why two years though? That is quite a long time to have to stay with that provider...

There's a 25 USD setup fee, but if you decide to cancel your account there, you get a refund for the remaining months. For example if we'd decide to move to another host after 8 months, there'd still be 16 months left, which would mean that we'd get 16 * 34.95 USD back. So that's definitely not a problem.

Recently I have donated 10 euros and now I have just donated other 10 euros via paypal of my friend, hopefully we reach the goal.

Unfortunately the current forum software doesn't allow me to add you to 2 user groups simultaneously, so I'll have to keep you in the Testing Team for now wink

Our company filled in from where ever it was to put it at 100% (I think it was $140 and some change US).  Worth every penny, your software has been great in helping us develop high end builds, and so far, everyone we know has been happy with the results.

I've seen your new goal, can you email me?

Thanks!

I've mailed you wink

And I'd like to thank you and your company VERY much for your very large donation wink smile

@ all, minus Major (sorry again...): you're now a member of the Donor usergroup and won't see any ads anymore in the forum! Thanks for your donations!

The card reader is the culprit. Unplug it during the installation and all will be good. Windows XP's setup is uncapable of handling this properly. I haven't tested it myself yet, but I definitely hope that Vista's setup deals better with this!

What can I say? I and the rest of the Crew are simply stunned... Your support has been impressing!

Since it was going so well, we thought that it might be a good idea to change our goal from 1 year of VPS hosting to 2 years, that would greatly decrease the annual cost: from 504.52 USD for 1 year to 432.02 USD per year (implying that we'd have to pay 864.04 up front). We have received 542 USD + 18.11 EUR in donations so far for the VPS, which leaves after the "PayPal tax" 514.95 USD + 17.14 EUR. At the current EUR to USD exchange rates that's 537.26 USD of the 864.04 USD we'd need. Taking the PayPal tax in account and some small rounding, our new goal is 900 USD, minus the separate 25 USD (the amount in EUR) of Helmi and the ChipIn target is 875 USD then.

A big thanks to all the people who have already made a donation! (And if you're registered here at the forum, just make a post in this topic to promote yourself to the Donator usergroup, which removes all ads from the forums! (And yes, this ugly procedure is automated at the new website!))

Also, due to an extremely busy week at school I didn't get to posting the DriverPacks updates!
The DriverPacks BASE was updated to version 7.01.6 (which has virtually no bugs left) and DriverPacks Graphics C, LAN, Sound A and WLAN were updated as well, all released on January 25th.

UPDATE:
A nice company has made a donation to me, and not via the ChipIn widget thus it was not detected. They've donated the largest sum so far: 200 USD! Wow! That brings us to 97% of our goal in one big leap!

Debugger, did you ever get that setupapi.log?

Very strange problem, and I'm afraid we won't be able to solve this one. It seems as if the hardware combination used in that laptop either needs a very specific graphics driver OR a very specific set of drivers (possibly driver conflict?).

If I were you, I'd just let the problem rest. Some things cannot be resolved. And let's face it, Medion isn't exactly known for their after sales support... You should not expect help from that side.

Sorry for the late reply, the last week was a h*ll due to school...

And the cause is so simple, that you'll be pounding your head against the wall for sure... Here it comes: you did not slipstream DriverPack Graphics A, and hence no driver was found wink

This is because you have broken the WHQL driver signing.

Windows ALWAYS prefers WHQL drivers, even if they are 10 years older than a non-WHQL driver!

The only way you could force Windows to use your driver in an automated way, is to remove the original Windows nVidia graphics driver from your Windows installation files. The easiest way to do is, is by using nLite.

Sorry for the delay guys, the last 7 days have been so stressy due to school that I haven't had the chance to visit the forums ONCE. DreamHost has moved me to another server, which caused the server URL to be invalid by now. I've now changed the first post to reflect the URL that will ALWAYS work.

Strange problem. Does this only occur for ATI FireGL devices?

The latest indeed!
