Your x1600 HWID is supported by the new Catalyst 7.8 as well as the latest G_A 7.08test2 DP using CX_50960.inf
Discussion is here:
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=1642
CX_50960.inf
"Radeon X1600 Series " = ati2mtag_RV530, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_71C2
"Radeon X1600 Series Secondary " = ati2mtag_RV530, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_71E2
Please let us know if this works out for you.
Either what Helmi said, or just use a spare HDD (I keep several around for just such an occasion.)
I looked at them, they don't support mobility chips like 6.14.10.4847 (Jun 2007).
hmmm.

7.08test2 Changelog:
D\G\A\1 Updated to Catalyst 7.8 (Driver & ATICCC), ATICCP updated to 6.14.10.5154 (mr_smartepants)
Dual ATICCC installers (desktop/mobility), recommend KTD enabled until finisher .ini is fixed (double-click appropriate ATICCC if not installed at startup).
D\G\N\1 Updated to unified WHQL version 162.18, 06/29/2007(mr_smartepants)
D\G\N\2 through 5 Deleted, all nVidia cards covered by G\N\1\ (mr_smartepants)
Things to fix (known problems):
.ini handling of dual ATICCC installers.
G_B .ini needs to reflect new ATICCCd.exe installer
Try the Graphics_A 7.08test1 DP here:
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=1642
Please reply to that thread with your results (good/bad).
Was this issue with the release DP or the latest test DP?
Please post your finisher log file.
Thank you, we are well aware of that website.

They're .cab compressed (all .cab compressed files end with an underscore).
The script Jaak gave you (save text in a .cmd file, then run) will decompress the files and rename them.
BTW, the new drivers are already being tested here:

Please test them and give us your feedback.
OK! I get the point!
I'm downloading now to take a look.
simonhind wrote:the 7.07 DriverPack A Test DP worked great, although it came up with the the DriverSigningPolicy to request to install a non WHQL Driver i selected yes, and it doesnt hang at T-34 which is great, its also solved alot of the other drivers from installing, this is great thanks for your help
That's great to hear. Glad to help.
Now that I'm back home, I'll get to work troubleshooting the driver signing and file protection issue. Something's broken somewhere and I hope to find out why.

i am sorry that i was rude i just wasnt in the right frame of mind becuase i had a funeral to go to
My condolences.
You're HWID matches the one in the latest G_A test DP. Did you use the 7.06 release or the 7.07 test DP?
http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=1642
If you haven't tried the latest test DP, I highly recommend it.

Can you check your %CDROM%\OEM\ folder for these files:
ATICCC.ins
ATICCP.ins
If both files are present, there's your problem. Just delete the one you don't want (CCC vs CCP).
Apart from that, I don't know. Can you try integrating with a fresh source? Maybe there's an old setting from a previous integration that didn't get deleted.
simonhind wrote:i have a NVidia Geforce Go 6400 for Sony Vaio VGN-FS415M
the drivers are not certified and when i select YES to install it hangs at T-34, can you please update DriverPack Graphics A to include NVidia Geforce Go 6400 for Sony Vaio VGN-FS415M
download link to page for drivers
http://support.vaio.sony.co.uk/download … amp;m=2155
Select Original Video Driver
it will require kb835221.exe to be installed first but DRIVERPACK BASE doesnt integrate it but i think you should try get to integrate when DriverPack Graphics A is selected
please email me when you have integrated this driver if kb835221.exe is not possible to be integrated please email me i will get in contact with RYANVM.NET
to integrate it into the next update pack
I'll take a look at this Sony variant to see what I can find different (Wow, it's old. 2005!).
First, no graphics driver should EVER require KB888111 (which supercedes KB835221 BTW, and is already included in RyanVM's update pack) since it is a HD Audio patch.
Second, The GeforceGo 6400 is already supported in the G_A driverpack, and the T-34 hang is a known issue on some systems (even when using the nVidia reference drivers).
Please verify your system matches the below HWIDs. If not, please let us know what your HWID is.
NVIDIA_NV44.DEV_0166.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 6400"
NVIDIA_NV44.DEV_0168.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 6400 "
%NVIDIA_NV44.DEV_0166.1% = nv4_mobile, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0166
%NVIDIA_NV44.DEV_0168.1% = nv4_mobile, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0168
Oh, one more thing. It's always better to ask for assistance nicely instead of saying "please do this for me, then tell me when your done". It's just not nice.
That's not a silly question.
The Graphics_A driverpack does not support any ATI card prior to the 9500 series. Those older cards are supported by the Graphics_B driverpack instead.
Thank you both. Feedback is a very important part of how we improve these driverpacks.
@midiboy. If you do get access to that particular machine, can you retrieve the dpfinisher log and/or the HWIDs.
@cwbshaw. That's great news.
Thank you both for testing.
Q; volunteer thing?
A: Volunteer. I don't think anyone around here is paid. I'm an enthusiast.
Q; How do you make time???
A: I just keep winding my watch backwards...easy.
Q; How many hours a week do you devote to DriverPacks?
A: According to my wife...every waking moment! I'm like a pitbull, when I want something fixed, I won't let it go until it's fixed. It's a perfectionist flaw.
I work for a living. As an aircraft mechanic/technical writer & manager.
BTW, I'm still not back from my 'vacation'. I was able to fix our hotels DSL/wireless setup so they gave me a dedicated line to the router.
I'll be back home next week.

I could be wrong, but I still think this is a 'driver signing policy' issue. When the windows installer encounters an unsigned driver, it will continue to look for a signed driver and if it finds one (even an ancient one) it will use that instead of the more recent unsigned one. Has MS changed the method of scanning for signed drivers? The method that the DPbase uses to disable it doesn't seem to work anymore?

Yes, I do.

Oh, I don't use sysprep so someone else with experience in that utility will likely have to assist.
I have G_A 7.07 test3 built and ready to upload. Just need some more feedback on the previous test from other users to tweak it first.
Major change - G\N\2 & N\5 are gone. All folders merged into G\N\1 (unified WHQL drivers 162.18) with .inf files compared and updated to single nv4_disp.inf (desktop) and nv4_go.inf (mobile). Significant filesize savings!
There was also a flaw in the G\N\5 folder where nvucode.bin was not renamed after decompression (remained nvucode.bi_). That would have caused issues.
What gets me is this line:
#-011 Installing section [nv4_mobile] from "c:\windows\inf\oem670.inf".
Where are you getting "oem670.inf" from? It certainly is not in the G_A DP.
Do you have any other drivers in there?
Looks like the .CAT file is screwing things up. Windows will try to match signed drivers before unsigned drivers. Damn!
The .CAT file contains HWIDs but not ALL the HWIDs contained within our nv4_go.inf file.
I'll look into a solution but I'll need help from the rest of the team.
