The system picked a newer driver than the one that is known to work.
To get your sound back you'll need to "force load" the driver in DP_Sound_B_wnt5_x86-32_1111\D\S\Ie\

DriverPacks don't support Win32 "upgrades".  This is in our FAQ and Tutorial.  You'll need to back up your data then format and install clean otherwise you can install clean to a new hard drive and copy your files over.
(the winnt.sif entries break the win32 upgrade process).
I don't know how to fix what you broke.

The DPsFnshr.log can be split into 2 or 3 posts.  Or you can upload it to a free service like pastebin.

Having multiple OS on the same drive isn't a problem in itself, provided that there's no problems with each OS that would prevent it from booting (BSOD).

Yes, removing the OS install source during any phase of the install would cause a critical failure because not all the source files are copied to the target drive.  The installer looks to the original install source for certain files throughout the install process.
The only time it's safe to remove the install medium is after first login and you're sitting at the desktop and all is quiet. wink

Oddly, the dell website has the older version of the driver here:
As expected, there is no difference between that driver and the one we have in \D\M\I3\ (other than we have the newer version).
To see your system configuration, put your "service tag" info into this page:

Try rebuilding your XP source.  Nothing fancy, just a vanilla XP source and DriverPacks BASE with DriverPack Chipset & dpms.  Use Method-2 and be sure to enable textmode.  Disable QSC and KTD options.
Report back if successful.

It would be best to disable the KTD option.  It causes more problems than it solves.
Are you sure that HWID list is from your Dell 1525?  It looks as if zero drivers were installed!  Normally for a Dell notebook I would expect to see some ACPI\DLL**** devices.

The drive controller in the above HWID list is supported by dpms \D\M\I3\, an old driver that we haven't had problems with for years.

Very comprehensive first post!
Welcome to DriverPacks!

To be fair, it looks like you did most things right.
Because your setup found the HDD during textmode setup phase but BSOD during hand-off to the GUI phase tells me there's something not right in our dpms.
Can you post the HWIDs from this target system?  You can use the HWID tool in my signature.

I'm curious why you would specify the KTD location to the target system "D" drive.  When you partitioned the drive did you create both a C & D partitions?

; <path>, to specify a custom KTD cache location, if not specified: default (%SystemRoot%\DriverPacks)
KTDlocation     = "d:\nlite\dp\KTD"

We normally discourage KTD usage because it sometimes causes problems and is not really useful to begin with.

Please see this reference for further info: http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=6169

Using both DISM injected PE drivers as well as $WinPEDriver$ folder WILL cause problems.

We haven't received any email to the admin box since June.

Applies to all NT6 OS types (Vista, Win7, Win8, Server2008, Server2012).
Does NOT apply to NT5 OS types (Win2000 thru XP/2003).

This link provides tons of info on different injection methods, their use, and expected outcomes.

Driver Limitations:

Please keep in mind that there are some drivers that can be included and/or loaded that may not be functional during WinPE portion of installation. This would include, but is not limited too; video drivers, wireless adapter drivers, and audio drivers. The behavior described in this document is not specific to BootCritical drivers (drivers need during bootu-p such as controller drivers for access to hard drive) and is in affect for all drivers loaded during installation/deployment.

The above confirms my reasoning that only dpms and possibly DriverPack Chipset & DriverPack LAN are the only packs that should be injected into the boot.wim.

If you can post your DPsFnshr.log or at the very least post your HWIDs for the target system, I'll look into the audio issue.
I'm sure we already fixed that one.
*Edit.
Yes, I thought so.  The driver you need is in DP_Sound_B_wnt5_x86-32_1111\D\S\Ie\

Ie\ SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC (Dell), from DriverVer=05/10/2007, 5.10.0.5515 to 12/18/2008, 5.10.0.5921

Once you have the drivers in the \net\ folder of your PEbuilder, you should just run their utility to build the custom .inf.
I'm not familiar with MOA so I can't help you with that.

Well, assuming you didn't modify your source after integrating with DriverPacks, then the log file would be at the root of your source directory: "C:\Users\*****\Desktop\windows xp sp3"
Or in the backup directory: Create a DPs_Base.log backup @ C:\Users\******\Desktop\drivers pack\LogFiles\DPs_BASE_12-08-10_09-24.log
The other logs are found by reading the Read BEFORE you post. link in my signature. wink

finisherMethod    = "GUIRunOnce"
This method modifies the winnt.sif file.  If you run nlite AFTER integrating DriverPacks BASE, then nlite will corrupt the install.  This is specifically why we say to integrate DriverPacks LAST before finalizing the .iso.

BTW, the CPU DriverPacks are all obsolete since they were incorporated into DriverPack Chipset about 2 years ago.

I'm not familiar with that embedded OS.  Is it XP-based or Vista/Win7-based?
How you integrate the drivers into the OS depends on how you plan on packaging it onto your recovery .iso.

You could kick it off with an optional "start /wait..." command.  It would be nice to integrate that functionality directly within SAD2 but you wouldn't have the pretty GUI. wink
Also, the resulting code would be huge.  This is a nice compromise.

@Damian666, if you want to take a stab at recoding SAD2 in Autoit you are welcome to try.  The code is open source and you can do what you want with it.  All the methodology/comments are in there, you'd just need to translate it.

You can use a image hosting service like tinypic.com or imageshack.com and enclose the link in [ img ] tags.
Is that on a Dell Latitude D630 notebook you have problems?  I have those at work, I can test on one of them next week.

What sound drivers are you trying to use?  If we're missing them, we could add them.
It's also likely that something broke your GUIRunOnce/RunOnceEx DriverPacks Finisher execution.  We have no way to tell because you haven't posted your DPs_BASE.log or DPsFnshr.log.

mmoore5553 wrote:

one more quick question is there a way i could make it to where it puts a folder on the root c and has some files in it that i load on every computer ?

You can use the $OEM$ folder method.

Hmmm, looks like something didn't work right and broke the DriverPacks Finisher execution.  Double-click DPsFnshr.exe and let it run.  That'll fix it.

It should load the driver automatically during a normal XP install.  Your HWID is matched by PCI\VEN_14e4&DEV_1646.
You didn't specifically mention your install method.
If you're using UBCD4win, then you can try editing the DriverPack LAN .ini file to change the following:

[b]
; BartPE Code
ms_count	 	= 1
ms_1_tag 	= "B_Proliant"
ms_1_sysfile 	= "bxnd52x.sys"
ms_1_exc_skipIfOS="w2k,wxp,w2k3"

ms_1_tag 	= "B_Proliant"
ms_1_sysfile 	= "bxnd52x.sys"
ms_1_exc_skipIfOS="w2k,w2k3"

We introduced this code because of reports of conflicts, but let us know how this works for you.

I may have to shuffle some files around to fix the UBCD4win problems.

Thanks for your contribution.  I've had a look at it.  Pretty cool.  Shame that aria2c app is so big.
What language did you code it in?  I may be able to add some of that functionality into SAD2 using their script API.
Does your utility update the dht.dat file automatically or do you grab that manually?

Our forum software doesn't support "advanced" features like [spoiler] tags. wink

Stickied!

Which files/folders are you referring to?  During an XP install, DriverPacks Finisher automatically cleans up all the folders after the first restart.
The only files left over are log files which are left on purpose.  If you enabled the KTD option in DriverPacks BASE then all the folders will be left because that's what KTD does.
