It won't hurt to have it, but yes, you can exclude it from Intel installs.

PhysX won't install without being invoked by the Nvidia drivers.  Yours is going to be a tough nut to crack.

I'm currently in Germany, but I'll start working on this idea when I get back.
Helmi, check your email! wink

Now nothing seems to install correctly... I don't understand why changing the Audio Drivers would cause everything to fail

This was already reported and we're working on a solution.  It's caused by an excessive path-length or file-count in the devpath reg entry.
To alleviate the problem, stick to only the main DriverPacks and one or two 3rd party DriverPacks maximum.  Any more and you'll trigger the failure.
You could try the latest Graphics DriverPacks release candidates (see main News page).  I've tried to shorten the path lengths for those DriverPacks.

Also, the Nvidia-based all-in-one boards need all the drivers to match.  So for example when we update DriverPack Chipset with the new drivers, DriverPack LAN, DriverPack Sound A, DriverPack Graphics A all need to be updated also to match. neutral

A quick test would be to just delete the .ini from the root of the sound DriverPacks and then repackage/rebuild your disc and test.
The dependent files are all listed in the driver .inf so theoretically everything else is "fluff".
I kinda like this idea.  Having a Third Party DriverPack to cover additional control panels for all the DriverPacks.  That would save considerable space and make it easier for admins who want a stripped OS (like we had at work)!

But we can go overboard with the Third Party DriverPacks though.  Maybe we should think about "Official" DriverPacks BASE support for the language DriverPacks and think about adding "control panel" support.  Hmmm....

I suppose it's possible.  Similar to how we split the Graphics Languages off.  It depends on how the .inf structures are built.  If those extra folders are dependencies, then no way.

If only Creative would build a consolidated driver/installer...oh who am I kidding! sad

LOL, yes.  DriverPack Sound A almost doubled in size because of the Creative installers.

Post updated 29 Nov.  Read below!
Here's our latest batch of DriverPacks we've cooked up for you.  Fresh and HOT from our oven!
Once again, we're opening up testing to you! Our loving public. smile
But please remember, that these are Release Candidates, and not Releases.  Try not to deploy these into a production or critical environment.  We're releasing these for testing purposes only.
We've tested, tested, and tested some more.  But we don't own all the hardware in the world, so we need broader testing from all of you.

This newer release candidate restores driver-signing to all the Nvidia drivers!
I'll leave the older links and info below, but if no bugs are found then these will become the final product; hopefully a 9.12 release for the Holidays.
We also changed the folder structure a bit because of a bug discovered in testing where the DriverPacks wouldn't install if too many Third Party DriverPacks were also used.
Please report back successes & failures to this thread.  The sooner you get those reports back to us, the sooner we can make these a final release.
Thanks, and enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Older releases below.

One known issue (not a problem if you integrate using DriverPacks BASE), is all the Nvidia graphics drivers have had their driver-signing broken.  This was unavoidable due to the fact Nvidia has intentionally crippled their .inf so as not to work with DriverPacks.  But we figured out the missing bit and now they work fine!  For those who want to play with the original signed .inf files, they're tucked away safe and sound in "Original.7z" in their respective folders.

You should be fine enabling both audio functions.  I never disable my onboard audio and I have a second Asus Xonar PCIexpress card and both install fine side-by-side.  The onboard sound will become the default after install, but that's easily changed after loading the desktop.

Go for it!  I can't remember exactly if that fix made it in, but I think so.

Well, it's kinda pointless at the moment.  Major changed the folder structure for both sound DriverPacks and the .ini files don't match now.  He's working on fixing them now.
If you want to fix the .ini yourself, then here's the links.

Sorry for neglecting this thread.
We added some updated drivers to these DriverPacks so in effect, went back to nightly status.  We are close to public release though.  Just a few nagging bugs to work out.

Did you buy the PC with Vista preinstalled?  Or did it come from the factory with a different OS?
If it's new, and came with Vista preinstalled, and it still doesn't work, then return it for a refund or warranty repair.

The emachines website is where you will find your drivers and answers.

Get rid of Vista!  It's crap. wink
Win7 is much nicer and has a lot of hardware support built-in.

Moved to "Other" forum since this is not XP DriverPacks related.
NativeJim, you need to read the "Vista" tutorial here: http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=3738
This covers the older Vista-Tool 1.0.  Vista-Tool 2.0 was in development but is now no longer being developed as more effort is being concentrated on Win7 tools (which should work with Vista too).
The Vista DriverPacks can be downloaded from the threads in the Vista section (like the tutorial).

Now, I doubt you went to "a dozen" websites.  Had you gone to THE website, you would have found your answer in less than two minutes like I did.

Rule#1, Always check the vendor site for drivers first.

DriverForge was written by our great friend KickArse and is linked here: http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=3018
and here: http://driverforge.sourceforge.net/
But this is a DriverPacks support forum.  The DriverPacks team only supports DriverPacks integrated using DriverPacks BASE.  While other methods may work, they are unsupported (mostly).  We'll try to help wherever we can though.

Welcome to DriverPacks!

...and welcome to DriverPacks! smile

From my signature.
Read BEFORE you post.
We need to see your DPs_BASE.log & DPsFnshr.log.

Welcome to DriverPacks.
If you had tried the DriverPacks, you would not have had this problem.  wink

Read the tutorial in my signature, then try them out to see for yourself.
This is a DriverPacks support forum, not a driver hunt. wink

Well, I am 99% sure that there is nothing wrong with DriverPacks. wink
I scanned all the extracted DriverPacks I have here on my system (release, nightly, & Third Party DriverPacks ), and over 50,000 files clean with zero infected files.
I used Eset NOD32 and Symantec Endpoint Protection (both with latest updates).
It's a false positive, and updating your AV to a current version should make that error go away.
Besides, that .dll is a XP system file.  DriverPacks doesn't modify that system file anyway.
I've never heard of your AV brand before.  But free AV are known for announcing false positives.  I'd recommend getting Eset.  It's cheap, and the best.
