Topic: Empty Folder in DriverPack Sound B

FYI in this Driver Pack there is an empty folder named SMA9
so for myself i added a driver that you didn't have in this driver
pack in this folder & it works fine on my system picking it up.
If you want the driver I added to it for myself check with smartepants
I emailed him the driver for this SoundMAX device for Compaq
DriverVer = 11/09/2001,5.12.01.3039 or i can send the 1 I did for
myself to you. Just let me know what you want done & how to rename
this driver pack to be on your web site or if you want me to resend just
this driver for you to place it in the driver pack.

I'm looking at the drivers he emailed me.  This one has a handful of HWIDs we can use.  I"ll just have to figure out where to put them for the next nightly.
The other drivers are all duplicated elsewhere.

jaak and debugger did that folder in a nightly around nov 07 but i don't see it in any final changelog...

IDK if it was not added or if it was pruned... sad perhaps a different source might yield a more specific set of HWID's
is it a reference driver or the compaq?

It's a soundmax audio driver.  Not really old, but old.  It's possible I can just put it in the empty folder.

I took a deeper look at these.  They're a newer replacement for \SMC1\ and they add about a dozen more HWIDs we didn't have before.  Unfortunately, the archive King Cobra sent me is missing 3 files called in the .inf.  I've emailed him for the missing files.  If he mails them back, I can add them.

that driver is seven years old i am surprized we don't have a better one...

Got them!  I'll be replacing SMC1 with these.  They're 2 months newer and have more HWIDs. 
I'll also prune the rest of DriverPack Sound B to make sure everything's clear.

I guess I'll just remove the empty sma9 dir eh?

I was going to upload it last night.  But then I saw the difference in pack size between DriverPack Sound A and B.  DriverPack Sound A is over 100MB and DriverPack Sound B is under 60.  A little imbalanced eh?
It's the Creative crap that's eating up the space.  I got distracted in trying to pare it down.  I may just move the Audigy and Live folders to DriverPack Sound B to balance it out.
At least until I can combine some folders or we can get the Creative stuff working.

if Creative will combine the drivers for Fatal1ty serie, Pci and Pci-e, then U'll be able to reduce the size with ~25MB. U can also consider making a C pack with Creative drivers.

I like the idea of putting Creative in Sound C, like in my case I seldom encounter Creative Sound Card, so I can just leave out Sound C...

Adding new DriverPacks would require a recode of DriverPacks BASE.  Something OverFlow wouldn't take too kindly. wink
I'll have to trim down or consolidate the DriverPack Sound A for now.  I'll try and upload something later tonight.
