Just a question: Is there any reason you host them on your own site rather than the official 3rd party DriverPack host?
I can move the files over there for you.
I really don't mind using mirrors for the worst case, but all files should at least be present on the official host so we don't accidentally mix up versions etc.

It's not really a good reason lol. At the time I was posting these my eyes were close to slamming shut. So I just took the quick and expedient route by posting them on my host.

I forgot to mention in the first post, and will make an edit, mr_smartepants gave me the help I needed to get started with making my first exception in a DP.

When I get some free time, I'll sit down and write a tutorial on the DriverPacks Finisher .ini syntax and windows pathways. I learned a lot from Ricktendo64's video tutorials on how to make addons and entries.ini.

We all learn by example, don't we?

I was virtually unable to pour in the time required to keep up with things main team can do after I got back to work after surgery.. This was because I have had to spent the better part of my free time on chores and tasks I have to fulfil, all of which were triggered by a house remodelling I have in advanced planning stage.
I also have the sudden discomfort of having over 11,000 items that were in storage coming in because the storage space I had them at cannot store them any longer. (The space I rented as storage is now in an inheritance and has to be freed.)

anyway, it seemed somewhat odd to see a main team (roguespear) do releases and not have access to the topic where it is done, or the ftp we keep them.

I won't have the time, tho.
I suppose twig123 will be asked to update.

as for tuts, jeesh.
Erik, fire away, WE ALL need the tut you just mentioned.
And, we should help rewrite the tut on base AFTER Jeff finds no more new features and improvements he wants added.
SAD and PE building module is becoming of age, sysprep module is in a pipeline, M3 (which is, perhaps, for getting 32bit baseline OS to HDD, and M3 does the archived DriverPacks.)
((we established that M1 and M2 installs run for roughly same time, and M1 has a couple advantages.. so M3 could be the answer for the things that cannot be done in M2 without the build time required for a full M1))

The answer was 42?

It is quite possible that I have access to the FTP site, though I don't believe I have the ability to edit other's posts. The main reason I posted these things on my hosting space is that I tend to post the release stuff towards the end of my day, when I'm just about to collapse. I try to devote my more cognitive hours to the complicated stuff where I could make a serious error. Anyway, if folks feel it more appropriate for the downloads to be on the official hosting space, that's fine. But I just figured what's the difference just so long as people can get at them

Hello,

I have some problems with installation of drivers on the device which is not supported by your DP_Misc.
This device - Atmel TPM (Trusted Platform Module) on the Lenovo ThinkPad R61 notebook.
HWID of this device: ACPI\ATM1200
The correct driver is here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. … MIGR-58054
Instead of this driver installed driver for Winbond TPM from DP.
Please, help me with this issue.
Please, add in your package the Atmel TPM device.

20081019 - Updated

I noticed there was large amount of duplication between DP Misc and DP SmartCardReader. And a good deal of the drivers in SmartCardReader were out of date. I had originally intended to update both DriverPacks, but it was becoming too complex and I began to wonder why biometric readers were in Misc instead of SmartCardReader. And would it be appropriate to call it SmartCardReader when there are other authentication security devices included. In the end I went with keeping it simple and to the point.

I intended on including all of the different Gem based drivers in this release - and then I accidentally deleted the directory. My recovery attempts didn't go so well, so their inclusion will have to wait until the next update.

EDIT: This looks like there's one of two things going on. Either this is a non-resolvable issue, or the drivers are actually licensed from the same vendor. They have the same guid - {4d36e97d-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} and appear the same. The one in the DP is slightly newer than the Lenovo supplied driver. If I could ask if the DP supplied driver works for you? You said it installs the wrong driver, but I'm wondering if this is just an instance where it says "WinBond" instead of "Atmel". If it works, I'm inclined to just leave it alone.

No, the DP supplied driver not works for me. It is not working properly.
Yes, TPM driver from Lenovo works fine.
I think what DP supplied driver & driver from Lenovo are different!

Yes, they're different.. to some degree. But I think that they share the same pedigree. I'm going to throw in the Lenovo supplied driver, but leave in the WinBond driver, and we'll see if it works. I'm not optimistic it will, but I think it's worth the effort to see if does. If it does not we'll have to see if there is a solution to differentiate these two drivers.

Grunger86, you know you could probably very easily modify the DP yourself and test out whether or not some of the proposed solutions actually work. And then report back the results.
