Smartepants didnt miss much, the forum was hosed for almost a week!
Thank God for that!
I did not even know it was down...
admins could still access the site
since it was a permissions Issue and not that the site was down...
i thought it was a little strange there were no new posts LOL
i finnlay got an email on sunday and found out what was up... and forwarded it to Wim
Bâshrat the Sneaky was out of town and fixed it the minute he landed
he was away from internet access for two days - figures that is when we have an issue
I did not even know it was down...
admins could still access the site
Oh snap.
I was about to email you about it (guessin that Bâshrat the Sneaky was too busy to act in time) but I thought you might notice it all by yourself, as it affected both the forum as well as the main page.
Next time I will not be so hesitant, then
dont hesitate to email me if there is an issue with the site...
I only have slightly better access than you do though LOL
Bâshrat the Sneaky will need to address any server specific issues personally
I can fix quite a few things that are forum software related so
I would like to be the one who gets the 50 alarm! emails and can then check basic things first.
In this way he only gets one or two emails from myself or one of the other senior Mod's like yourself
I am sure he wouldn't mind, but still... it's almost like (shudder to think) a plan... LOL
Its better to communicate too much than not enough? (shrugs)
Tested DP_Graphics_A_wnt5_x86-32_808c.7z
No video card driver installed if yor vendor is NVIDIA.
Replaced driver inside the pack with GeForce Forceware XP 177.92 32-bit (from Guru3D.com)
everyting worked like a charm. Tested on 6 machines.
Ok guys I am not sure what is going on with the new 808c test pack but if you look at the nv4disp.inf it only has mobility hardware id's in it?
This video card did not install if you look at the inf you will see it is not listed but if you look at 808b it was?
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0140&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_A2\4&1A9C9F1A&0&0008: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT
even integrated 8200 was not found with 808c
Radeon X1950 Pro recognized successfully on a dekstop with 808c.
Actually it appears twice, I don't know why (I have only one card):
+ Radeon X1950 Pro
+ Radeon X1950 Pro Secondary
because it has two connectors on the card - (yes?)
a two head unit (might as well hook up a second monitor now)

Oh crap.
Sorry, my mistake. I was playing with the new modded .inf and forgot to include the desktop version.
Fixed locally, uploading...

Yes, indeed.
As you can set different options for each monitor, each output connector needs to be listed seperately.
Oh, and hooking up a second monitor is indeed great fun (got me a nice 22" CRT 30kg - 66 lbs for you Brits -monster sitting here now, perfect addition to the 15" LCD ))

That must be looking like a "David and Goliath"!!
Drivers from DNA Group supported all videocards and small size!!! ATI 8Mb and nVidia 17Mb
The reason they're so small is because their ATI package probably doesn't include a ATICCC or CCP (I'll bet languages are missing too).
Oh, and we're onto Catalyst 8.8 now.
The title of this thread is way out of date........
Jaak is distracted ATM lol
The title of this thread is way out of date........
Not anymore!
w00t!!
Was it intentional to have overlapping hwids in nvdisp.inf and nvdisp2.inf? What would be the difference between the two? In my case I have a 8800 ultra that is referenced in both infs.
Was it intentional to have overlapping hwids in nvdisp.inf and nvdisp2.inf?
No, I was just too tired to care when I packaged it up. The problem is that all three \N1 .inf files are causing a BSOD at T-34 for me. The previous nightly worked fine.
I'm rebuilding the G_A nightly from scratch and will be 8.09c (after I perform in-depth testing!).
ATI works fine though.
ForceWare 177.98 for Windows XP/2K 32bit with MS WHQL Certificate!!!

Downloading now...
I'm still troubleshooting my BSOD problems. Now I'm getting them with known good DriverPacks.
perhaps it is thermal failure (clogged CPU fan) or perhaps your ram or video card needs to be Thumbed into the slot...
Solved it!
Whenever you have hens that won't lay eggs...change your co...uh rooster.
Whenever you have unexplainable BSODs...change your source!
My source became corrupted between uninstalling/reintegrating DriverPacks, and testing new XPtsp theme patches. (oops).
Fresh source, zero problems.

What's everyone's opinion on the Nvidia PhysX installer? Should it be included in our DriverPacks release? Or leave it as a separate installer (d/l from Nvidia).
It's an extra 50MB (uncompressed) that will have to go somewhere. I'd prefer to leave it out. Smaller d/l sizes are also a priority.
Let the masses decide...
