Ok, but wouldn't the missing HDMI-out kinda defeat that plan (at least if you want to have digital sound-out, you can convert the DVI to HDMI, of course)?

Just wondering; personally, I'm more than fine with analogue stereo sound.
Don't even have a fancy 7.1 speaker set, just this good ole HiFi rack from Telefunken dating from the 70ies big_smile
Plus, it got an LP player!

Well my own internal testing brought up an interesting problem.
I ran a test with BOTH my new ATI HD3450 and my powerful Nvidia 8800GTS installed at the same time.
Nvidia drivers and control panel installed perfect, no problems.
ATI drivers partially installed, and ATI CCC installed, but would not run.
After restart, "New hardware wizard" popped up to install "VGA display device" which would fail.

When using each card on it's own, there were zero problems, with a clean device manager.

So I can verify that on single card installations, this DP works perfect.

SamLab, have you checked your source?  I had nearly an identical setup to your recent setups (Radeon 9800Pro, Intel 865PE mobo) and that test worked fine last week.
How are you integrating?  DPBase?  SysPrep? BartPE?
Besides, those two cards are directly supported by the factory .inf.  I didn't modify anything for those two cards.
The notebook is different, since we use a modified .inf for those.

Well, I still haven't optimized the .infs yet.  Maybe I'll get a chance this weekend.  I'm still working on a new G_C dp for testing.  It's over 120MB compressed so I'm trying to get that down to size.

All day held for testing various videodrivers with different graphics cards - all to describe the findings will not and can not remember everything already, but the conclusion made one for himself - you need to add in the DP version of 177.83 and advanced inf thereto (http://download.overclockers.ru/drivers … w17783.rar)

Why rename inf advanced in nv4_go? Is it when you install the drivers, he looks at this file?

Because when Windows enumerates the drivers, it loads the .inf files alphabetically.
nv4_disp.inf (loads first, digitally signed)
nv4_go.inf (loads next, NOT digitally signed)

We want signed drivers to load first.  That's why. smile

seems to work ok on 7600GT and SP3, had to change res to something decent but the driver is fine.

Week testing proved such a conclusion - put whql drivers even if they are old, but if not whql, then put the newest version drivers
hence the idea is - it is necessary to collect DP based versions, which include the maximum cards - for the old and medium-sized cards that nvidia 175.19, a new long 177-89
His DP for nVidia I have made and to whom necessary can lay out

177.85 supported 6xxx-9xxx and 2xx cards!!! I`m starting test and i think this driver must be in DP with 175.19

PS: ATI Catalyst 8.8 is released!
