Welcome to Driverpacks.

Can you try this file?
http://dev.driverpacks.thesneaky.com/dr … 32_7111.7z

It's built using the latest ATI catalyst 7.11 drivers.
It will also attempt to install the HDMI driver for that card.  Your testing would be invaluable to us.
You don't need the G_B or G_C driverpacks, they don't support that ATI card.

Re: Ati radeon 2400HD -"Windows Help There is not enough memory available"

I will try to build a Russian version of this DP for you to test.  I'll do my best since I don't speak russian. smile
It's built, uploading now.

A month ago I tried building a multilanguage installer (using the .mst transforms built into the 'localizations' folder) but the setup.exe /s switch uses the info coded in the setup.iss file (language code) and I couldn't find a simple way to do it.  I found a complicated scripted way to do it but that's not an elegant solution.  The batch file would scan for a localized version of XP, write the appropriate code to a .txt file, then rename the txt file to setup.iss, overwrite the original setup.iss file, and then run setup.exe /s.
ugly.

Re: Ati radeon 2400HD -"Windows Help There is not enough memory available"

Hello,
One year ago I made a mistake of enable the ATI Center option in the DP G-A, without the .NET.
I got to desinstall the driver, install the .NET's, and reinstall the driver again to fix it.
My PC was a PB5 ASUS P4 3.6GHz with a ATI X1900XT .

Last week my Motherboard passed away, rest in peace ... we have such a good times !!!!

Now I build a P5K with a E8400 Core DUO, and the old ATI X1900XT.

This time I tried the Control Panel option, and I got now the "not enough memory for this task" issue.
Reinstall the last version didn't worked, but disable the control panel in the msconfig yes.

Anybody knows how to enable the CP again ?
If not I gonna try desisntall and install the NETs and the Control Center Version ...

Re: Ati radeon 2400HD -"Windows Help There is not enough memory available"

Did you include the .NET libraries in your disc?
It is essential they are included via an addon and installed at T-13 (if possible).

Re: Ati radeon 2400HD -"Windows Help There is not enough memory available"

I am now getting this message on my Dell Optiplex 745 (Radeon X1300/X1550 Series).  I know it's being caused by atiptaxx.exe and it happens under all users at logon.  I used DriverPack Base 8.05 to slipstream 8.04 graphics drivers (method 2, no KTD, QSC yes) on an XP Pro SP3 unattended CD (created with nLite).  If you need any more info, let me know.  Thanks for the great software, it's been working great otherwise! smile

Re: Ati radeon 2400HD -"Windows Help There is not enough memory available"

Can you explain exactly how you know it's being caused by atiptaxx.exe (Task Manager mem usage?)

Dell-branded graphics cards have been causing us headaches.  Can you check the graphics card itself for a "Dell" logo?
Thanks for reporting, and welcome to DriverPacks! smile

Re: Ati radeon 2400HD -"Windows Help There is not enough memory available"

Using Process Explorer, the winhlp32.exe process is being spawned off the atiptaxx.exe process; killing it makes the error message go away.

As for the card, no branding on it (half-height PCIE card for the mini Dell case).  One label (green) has P/N 102A7710920 00001.  Another has ATI-102-A771(B) which, after a google, looks exactly like this and sounds like it's an X1300 from this site.  Let me know if I can be of any more help (I can boot up a liveCD and get the PCI ID if you want).

Thanks for the welcome smile

Re: Ati radeon 2400HD -"Windows Help There is not enough memory available"

Hmmm.
Can you try this test pack?

You might get an error with the AVIVO codecs (I'm working on a fix already), but everything else should be good to go.

Re: Ati radeon 2400HD -"Windows Help There is not enough memory available"

I let the unattended go as I left yesterday, came in today, logged in, greeted by an ATI error.

Windows is in the "Personalized Settings, Setting up personalized settings for: Windows Desktop Update"
The error is:
ATI AVIVO Codecs
Error 1904.Module C:\Program Files\Common Files\ATI Technologies\Multimedia\atimcenc.dll failed to register.  HRESULT -2147010895.  Contact your support personnel.  Cancel/Retry/Ignore.

Retry fails, ignore brings up another for atidvcr.dll, then atixcode.dll, then it completes.  Then the Desktop finally loads and I'm greeted with "The ATI Control Panel failed to initialize because no ATI driver is installed, or ATI driver is not working properly.  The ATI Control Panel will now exit."  Indeed, the adapter has no drivers.  Arg.

Re: Ati radeon 2400HD -"Windows Help There is not enough memory available"

You ABSOLUTELY must have .NET installed or the 'ATI Control Center' will fail to install

if you are installing the the 'ATI Control Panel' then .net is not required wink

you can select None for the control panel option in base to verify this is the problem (or bypass it)

i did see you were referencing the ati cp but felt the need to make sure it was not the ati cc we were discussing

I have the second option selected (ATI Catalyst Control Panel) which does not state that .NET is required (the first option, ATI CCC, does).  Does the CCP also require the .NET FW?

Nope...

just wanted to make sure we were all on the same page

Thanks for responding

Re: Ati radeon 2400HD -"Windows Help There is not enough memory available"

Thanks for the update.  I'm aware of the AVIVO codec problem and I'm building a new DP that fixes it.
I wasn't aware of any problems with the control panel though. sad
It's possible the botched AVIVO install borked the control panel installer since both use the built-in windows installer.  I'll look into it.
Can you decompress the G_A dp and double click the d\g\a1\aticcp.exe file to verify it works on it's own?

Re: Ati radeon 2400HD -"Windows Help There is not enough memory available"

To clarify, is the aticcp.exe a silent installer of some sort?  It runs briefly and I do not get any error messages, but when I manually try to run atiptaxx.exe from Program Files I get the same error ("The ATI Control Panel failed to initialize because no ATI driver is installed, or ATI driver is not working properly.  The ATI Control Panel will now exit.").  Rebooting makes no difference.  Do you want me to uninstall the CCP before and then run it?

Re: Ati radeon 2400HD -"Windows Help There is not enough memory available"

after the few tests I did without sound DriverPacks and suitable hardware, I think samlab has the key to conflict.
HDMI in video cards could be clashing with sound.

Erik, when I tried to corroberate that, I used low cost motherboards and graphics cards and I knew that the driver CD supplied with the mobo had a bad install routine because it clashed with its own IGP, and no third party graphics card was plugged.

when I used other testbeds, I saw that some ati drivers (supplied on the CD) had problems with hdmi.
What I am saying is that we see a mess, and it is not your/my/our fault.

Nvidia graphics and ATI with TV and sound capability will (this is for real.. it is a statement) clash with things like realtek.
We could have a perfect DriverPacks combo for 99.98 percent of users, and the next update in any of the main DriverPacks or third party (third party like modems with sound/and TV with sound..) can and (a prediction; they will) introduce issues to 20 percent.

edit;
HDaud sound capability and HDMI will, in my opinion, be an issue because the manufactors don't get their drivers right, and they seldom (if ever) look at conflict issues (with/against other manufactors // OEM implentations.) like we had to do...

Re: Ati radeon 2400HD -"Windows Help There is not enough memory available"

I agree too. sad

I sometimes do not want to undo the fine tuning.

There is a lot of Legacy in DriverPacks. I doubt there is an active current team member whom has all original drivers on his drive. Are there any?
I don't have all.
There are quite a few members with more expertise than I have, and I think they all know we have to make choices every now and then.
Jeff has summarised how we have to make our choices more than once.
