Already working on the update, a test pack should be ready tonight.

Re: INTEL Matrix Storage Manager 8.0.0.1039 & VIA Hyperion Pro 5.17a

let's keep the Leaky drivers in a test pack till we get some good feedback...

Re: INTEL Matrix Storage Manager 8.0.0.1039 & VIA Hyperion Pro 5.17a

Jon?
release 804 has marvel 10/18/2007,1.2.0.51 in [M1] and this testpack rolled back (downgraded) to 05/22/2007,1.2.0.45
But the new marvel SAS in [M4] seems to not warrant the downgrade. (and I saw no issues reported on [M1] marvel 10/18/2007,1.2.0.51.

You have seen me downgrade intel 7.08 with a "fix" to 7.05 in testpack 804a, and the 804d testpack I later put up had clean intel 7.08 again.
With the testpack we have here intel solution to XP ahci trouble could work.
Nice work in intel and Via.

I wondered what the downgrade is for. (Thankfully, the [M1] INI needs no edit for that. The drivers cover same HWIDs so it is just replace with version we had/or keep the rollback.).
Your judgment is usually sharp and based on hands on.
----------------

Folks, don't be fooled. This test pack looks GREAT.
Please test this on suitable hardware.

Re: INTEL Matrix Storage Manager 8.0.0.1039 & VIA Hyperion Pro 5.17a

Looks like I overwrited the wrong drivers with Araxis Merge....I taught I had newer ones...I was tired...

EDIT: 8.04F uploaded, newer Marvell drivers were restored.

Re: INTEL Matrix Storage Manager 8.0.0.1039 & VIA Hyperion Pro 5.17a

I thought it was a smart move, but is was 'the language barriere.'

Jon, I once said testpacks get tested by a few team members, and releases get tested by users.
The sticky topic in this forum will link to test versions so we get more people to look at it.

araxis.. is the coolest tool (if you are not colour blind)

I don't hav any pc for moment to teste AHCI issue.....sorry (I will test as soon as possible)

DP_MassStorage_wnt5_x86-32_804h.7z (link pulled)
(I know it is may.. but since this is an update on a series of tests we started in 804..)

original files should work.
Users like abdou tell us VIA IDE mode does not need mass storage, so I removed those HWIDS in Via INI. (those I said would stay in..)
----- -----
compared to the released 804.
---------
Changed
- [P7] correction in INI, a disabled HWID was re-enabled  (Jaak)
- [PB] deleted (Jaak)
- [V3] Commented 64 bits lines (JakeLD)
- [V3] and [V4] INI, removed some IDE mode HWIDs from INI.
- [I3] Intel Matrix Storage, INI supports HWIDs "not updated by intel" (JakeLD)
- Renamed [I4] to [I5] to make place for a new \i4 Intel Matrix Storage (JakeLD)
New
- [I4] Intel Matrix Storage 04/15/2008,8.0.0.1039 (JakeLD)
- [M4] Marvell 64xx/63xx SAS Controller 12/06/2007,2.1.0.11 (JakeLD)

Updated
- [J] JMicron JMB36X/37X Controller from 11/26/2007, 1.17.31.00 to 04/03/2008, 1.17.33.03 (JakeLD)

Re: INTEL Matrix Storage Manager 8.0.0.1039 & VIA Hyperion Pro 5.17a

Jaak was there a problem with Intel ? I can see you put the default names back plus you downgraded Marvell. I'm working on a update, i'm including 1 new driver, I will integrate the via changes you made.

Re: INTEL Matrix Storage Manager 8.0.0.1039 & VIA Hyperion Pro 5.17a

We always should be useing the default names mad

Sooo.. is Intel AHCI now working as it should? XP detects the hardrive and no BSOD or erros?

Re: INTEL Matrix Storage Manager 8.0.0.1039 & VIA Hyperion Pro 5.17a

That is where you can help us... Please test...
and report your HWID's with the results.

It is the only way we will know...

Alright, I make a image now and I will test it tonight hopefully. M1 or M2 recommended?

Re: INTEL Matrix Storage Manager 8.0.0.1039 & VIA Hyperion Pro 5.17a

most people use M2 but if you normaly don't that is fine too.

try it as you normaly would that way you will be familiar with the process and the result.

Thanks for testing - it is important...

Re: INTEL Matrix Storage Manager 8.0.0.1039 & VIA Hyperion Pro 5.17a

Aspire 5325 laptop and the .iso contained XP Pro SP3 with DP Masstorage 805C textmode slipstreamed through M2 and the three lines deleted from winnt.sif. Harddrive detected, XP got installed and drivers just worked smile This was when AHCI was selected in BIOS.

I get HWIDs in 24 hours. My friend had some problem with ethernet driver for WinXP.

Re: INTEL Matrix Storage Manager 8.0.0.1039 & VIA Hyperion Pro 5.17a

the only thing I can think of is this

[V3]
ms_count=1
ms_1_deviceName="VIA SATA/PATA IDE"
ms_1_tag="VIDEX32"
ms_1_sysFile="VIDEX32.sys"
; (XP and 2003 natively support PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_0571&CC_0101. 2000 has no native VIA at all.)
; this line is for XP and windows2003. Comment it if you uncomment the line for 2000)
ms_1_hwids="PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3149&CC_0101"
; (uncomment the full line for 2000 if you need the extra HWID.)
; ms_1_hwids="PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_0571&CC_0101,PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3149&CC_0101"
ms_1_isBusExtender=false

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.

Re: INTEL Matrix Storage Manager 8.0.0.1039 & VIA Hyperion Pro 5.17a

[V3] section added to the DriverPack_LAN_wnt5_x86-32.ini? And i don`t understand comment or uncomment lines for the XP SP3

Worked on Windows 8.1 Pro

Re: INTEL Matrix Storage Manager 8.0.0.1039 & VIA Hyperion Pro 5.17a

in simple terms the first example will work most of the time

[V3]
ms_count=1
ms_1_deviceName="VIA SATA/PATA IDE"
ms_1_tag="VIDEX32"
ms_1_sysFile="VIDEX32.sys"
ms_1_hwids="PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3149&CC_0101"
ms_1_isBusExtender=false

if needed this alternate version may work if the first one does not.

[V3]
ms_count=1
ms_1_deviceName="VIA SATA/PATA IDE"
ms_1_tag="VIDEX32"
ms_1_sysFile="VIDEX32.sys"
ms_1_hwids="PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_0571&CC_0101,PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3149&CC_0101"
ms_1_isBusExtender=false

the second example has one additional HWID the first one does not.

Re: INTEL Matrix Storage Manager 8.0.0.1039 & VIA Hyperion Pro 5.17a

which makes make think crazy thoughts for jaak to try like ...

[V3]
ms_count=2
ms_1_deviceName="VIA SATA/PATA IDE"
ms_1_tag="VIDEX32"
ms_1_sysFile="VIDEX32.sys"
ms_1_hwids="PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3149&CC_0101"
ms_1_isBusExtender=false
ms_1_exc_skipIfOS="w2k"
ms_2_deviceName="VIA SATA/PATA IDE"
ms_2_tag="VIDEX32"
ms_2_sysFile="VIDEX32.sys"
ms_2_hwids="PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_0571&CC_0101,PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3149&CC_0101"
ms_2_isBusExtender=false
ms_2_exc_skipIfOS="wxp,w2k3"

I belive this resolves the issue for 2k and xp/2k3.
if in fact the HWID's list needing to be different for each OS an is a valid fix.
this could also extend to three different lists with -

ms_count=3
~ code for windows 2000 only
ms_1_exc_skipIfOS="wxp,w2k3"
~ code for windows 2003 only
ms_2_exc_skipIfOS="wxp,w2k"
~ code for windows XP only
ms_3_exc_skipIfOS="w2k,w2k3"

I have not tested this if this doesn't work i would consider that a bug wink
