Can you download both versions PCL5 & PCL6 and test them :
http://www.hp.com/go/universalprintdriver_software

So ... switch from PCL 5 to PCL 6 ?

Follow HowTo in this forum.

Could you test this home made MassStorage DP ?
I've changed it myself to include MSN 7.5, and it worked on latest P35 chipset (ICH9) on a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P.

I don't know why you have this directory on root drive.
Did you decompressed manually the archive ?

DriverPack is correctly named and directory structure is correct inside 7z file.

Dit you put DP_PrintersHP_wnt5_x86-32_70515.7z in "3rd party DriverPacks" before building your UA XP ?

Sometimes %SystemDrive%\D  is deleted on next reboot.

I had the very same with lastest home made DP_MassStorage to support ICH9.
Jmicron driver v1.17.17.00 was included ... and I had yellow ! .... then I deleted it (uninstall device) ... rebooted ... then it was correctly installed.

I've made a custom DP_MassStorage with three MSM versions (5.5, 6.2.1 and 7.5), have a look in Testing Team section (this post).
It works fine on lastest P35 chipset (MSN 7.5 is required for "text mode" slipstream).

Both DriverPacks are deleted ....

I've used version 8.3.0.1013 successfully on a Gigabyte P35-DS3P (ICH9). ; this version has WHQL for ICH9 new drivers.
I got it from Gigabyte website.
Official version 8.2.0.1014 does not include ICH9 support yet.

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2930&SUBSYS_50011458&REV_02\3&13C0B0C5&0&FB is "Intel(R) ICH9 Family SMBus Controller - 2930" once Intel Chipset software 8.3.0.1013 installed. It seems a DP Chipset upgrade is required.

Don't direct link to the page. Browse from home page : http://www.driverpacks.net

Latest Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P needs an updated MSN driver (otherwise BSOD "0x7B", even with latest DP_MassStorage 705).

Download Intel driver 7.5.0.1017 for Intel ICH6R/ ICH7R/ ICH7DH/ ICH8R/ICH9R :
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Moth … ileID=3100

Download Jmicron driver 1.17.13.01 :
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Moth … ileID=2790

I've installed XP in "legacy mode" (no AHCI, no RAID, no Jmicron) using all latest DriverPacks 7.05.
Hard disk & DVD-Rom drives are both SATA.

Any idea what it is ?  Requires an updated DP Chipset with latest Intel P35 Chipset drivers ?

INI file from DP chipset 704 contains only one entry :

This exception removes some silly, useless HP/Compaq "eHelp" button (that actually is integrated into the chipset!) from the system.

It must have been removed from DP chipset 705 ... and thus ini file is useless.

1/ According to HP supported printers : yes, 1300 series are supported with Universal Driver in sub-dir 01.
2/ So it can be removed if driver included in XP is as much fully functionnal.
3/ Yes

Following this post I've updated HP driverpack with latest HP universal driver printer v4.0 (16 04 2007) : http://www.hp.com/go/upd
Supported printers : http://h20338.www2.hp.com/Hpsub/cache/3 … 5-121.html
DriverPack is a lot smaller now smile :
- 65 Mb uncompressed
- 32 Mb 7-zipped

I've updated driverpack with latest HP PCL5 unified driver which supports a lot of new printers (more info : http://h20338.www2.hp.com/Hpsub/cache/3 … -121.html).
Old printer drivers are deleted when new universal driver supports them (which is the case for almost *all* laserjet printers).
Check here for updated DriverPack : http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?pid=10763

You have an HP PSC 1215 All-in-One, right ?
These all-in-one printers-scanners drivers are huge (same for Epson) ... and not easy to driver-package.
I'll have a look at it.

That's exactly what I do with VMware drivers : the vbscript detects bios, then you can install any software which has silent install.
I presume the same thing can be done with VPC.

vbscript example I use to detect vmware bios and set display size ("reschange.exe ...").

Option Explicit
Dim objWMIService, colBIOS, objBIOS, i, ws
Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:{impersonationLevel=impersonate}!\\.\root\cimv2")
Set colBIOS = objWMIService.ExecQuery("Select * from Win32_BIOS")
Set ws = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

For Each objBIOS In colBIOS
	If Not IsNull(objBIOS.SerialNumber) Then
		If Left(objBIOS.SerialNumber(i),6) = "VMware" Then
       Wscript.echo "BIOS VMware found"
       ws.Run("reschange.exe -width=1024 -height=768"),0,True
     Else
       Wscript.echo "BIOS VMware not found"
		End If
	End If
Next

You're right : that's 105 Mb decompressed, and not 112 Mb.
Concerning compression : 7zip works best on uncompressed files than on files already compressed (which is the case with cabarc files):
- Old pack : all files of DP uncompressed ==> 134 Mb, and 7zipped : 40.7 Mb
- New pack : half of files of DP are already compressed, the other half are uncompressed ==> 105 Mb, and 7zipped : 47.8 Mb

These drivers get installed when you install VMadditions and they are inside a MSI file which is language dependant.
They is differents ways to get these drivers :
1/ extract files from MSI, but some files seems to be duplicated.
2/ use a vbscript to detect BIOS from VM and launch VMadditions setup [I use this for VMware tools, using RogueSpear Scriptpack].
3/ extract drivers from your PC with tools like DriverGrabber (see Tutorial)

7zip compress better than cabarc which is used to compress files :
- DP is bigger 7zipped
- but smaller once uncompressed

MD5 hash added.

I've tested each sub-dir to install printers:
- I've changed nothing in sub-dirs 01, 02, 04, 05, 07, 10, 14, 15 : all were working fine.
- I've cabbed files in these sub-dirs (install couldn't find non cabbed files) : 03, 06, 08, 09, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17. Then drivers installs fine smile.

I've 7zipped the pack to version 7.04.29. Updated post @ top of this page.
