Update!

FEdit just will not work during guirunonce, but works OK after. No idea why, so I wrote a vbscript to do the same thing.

Thanks for the reply.

I can confirm I'm not having any issues with the DP's or DPBase. The batch file I run is during windows setup, and I have disabled it while I investigate further. My WSH and VB skills are none too hot, but I have discovered and solved another problem I had running a vb script during setup. There appears to be no file association for .vbs in my build, which seems odd. FEdit failing may be caused by the same thing if it makes use of WSH.

Cheers for the pointer.

This may be in the wrong place - mods please feel free to move it if this is the case.

I'm working on an XP SP3 WDS deployment, and all appears to be fine - except Fedit crashes and burns.
My deployment is created on an XP SP2 machine, then ported over, but I have a batch file which runs and edits an ini file to show the current date, the result of which is displayed as the system build date on the desktop via BGinfo. This batch file runs during guirunonce, and works fine on SP2. Fedit crashes and burns on SP3.
Not a big real, but may cause issues running DPBase on SP3 machines, if DPBase uses Fedit to modify files.

The ID's in the first post were lifted from Bâshrat the Sneaky's save_hwids batch file, and from the DPsFnshr.log file on the machine.
When building the machines, Windows always picks up the IDE controller as Marvell 61xx RAID controller. This stops Windows from burning CD's/DVD's.
Can you point me to where I can find the detail which includes the CC_0104 or CC_0101 entry?

Well done Intel.

The Ven ID for this chipset is
PCI\VEN_11AB&DEV_6101&SUBSYS_610111AB&REV_B1\4&AB208E&0&00E1: Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller

The Ven ID for the Marvell 61xx Raid controller is
PCI\VEN_11AB&DEV_6101&SUBSYS_610111AB&REV_B1\4&AB208E&0&00E1: Marvell 61xx Marvell RAID Controller

This itself is not a huge problem, the mainboard will work correctly. Our latest systems however have a SH-S182D dual layer DVD/RW-DVD Ram drive, which will not burn anything if Plug 'n Pray picks up the Marvell driver as the best match for the hardware. My workaround for this was to remove the Marvell driver from the driverpack, as we don't have any mobos on site with this RAID controller.

Are we the only users with this combination of hardware?
Edit: Hardware vendor is blaming driverpacks, which IMO are not the problem

If this is the prob where the Sigmatel High Def Audio Codec appears in device manager, but the sound device does not work, the workaround/fix is quite easy.
All you need to do is add the files from the wdm folder in %program files%\sigmatel\c-major audio folder to the driver pack - or create a 3rd party driver pack with just this set of files in.
More details here if this is any help. I have found I need to add new files almost every time we get a shipment of computers delivered, all with supposedly identical hardware.

I had a similar issue with this at the end of last year. I mentioned a fix in this thread, but forgot to give Muiz the details.

The fix is basically to edit the DP_Sound_B to include the files for the Sigmatel Audio panel. I copied the contents of the %program files%\Sigmatel\C-Major Audio\WDM into the D\S\S\U folder. These files are here in case anyone needs them.
I then re-7zipped the DP_Sound_B folder and slipstreamed the new drivers into the source.

My custom DP_Sound_B_wnt5_x86-32_707 is here if anyone wants to have a look and pick holes in it. It works on all our current hardware, which is mainly Intel D965 based hardware. Our newest batch of machines are DQ956GF mobos, and the edited DP_Sound_B_wnt5_x86-32_707 works just fine with those.

Thanks Bâshrat the Sneaky.
I just downloaded all the driverpacks again from the http://www.driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/ URL. Got the same result. If I follow the link to http://driverpacks.net/UpdateChecker.php sure enough the versions are correct.
I'm confident the DriverPacks are correct, as the slipstreamed source works perfectly.
Is it possibly because the version info is shown in '704' format, and in the Bâshrat the Sneaky update checker the version info is in '7.04' format?
Just a wild stab in the dark....

I have just downloaded the latest RyanVM packs, and was about to start updating my source, so decided to run the Bâshrat the Sneaky update checker in case any new packs had been released since I last checked.
The update checker says "Where did you get that?" next to every driver pack.
http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l150/tazmaniandevil_1503/UpdateChecker.jpg
I only ever download driverpacks etc. from http://www.driverpacks.net/ so find this a bit odd.
Has anyone else had this problem? I tried searching, but didn't find anything.

Prolly a daft question but, have you tried building the system with a 'vanilla' cd?
This could be a dodgy RAM error.

Dunno Dude. That's the info gathered by the save_hwids utility. I'm fairly new to this twiddling with drivers malarkey, so I'm fumbling in the dark quite a bit.
I created a custom DP which works OK on all three machines using the .inf below. Still to test on new Dell Optiplex 745 system.
Edit: Also works on Dell 745 system.

I left the cat file in, even though I read somewhere it should be taken out. Anybody wants to use/improve the custom DP - go right ahead.

Thanks - now posted in relevant section.

We have three machines on evaluation, each with Intel DQ965GF boards.
After the Windows install, an unidentified PCI device appears in Device Manager. On investigation, the device appears to be Intel(R) Active Management Technology - Serial On Lan
Intel download for driver.

Will the above be included in future DP releases?

Thx

This is the only machine type I have had this issue with. The majority of our systems have cruddy onboard Intel graphics chipsets. These are a new range we are evaluating with dual head cards. The build currently works with the atiicdxx.dll file in the $OEM$\$1\bin folder, so it's not a huge problem.

I have copied the atiicdxx.dll file into the $OEM$\$1\bin folder and the finisher completes properly. There must be an issue with the ATi installer which points to the $OEM$\$1\bin folder. I have had a look at the driver file, but can't see anything obvious. To be honest, I'm not 100% sure where to look.

Hardware ID's below:

PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_71D2&SUBSYS_2B021002&REV_00\4&38C29EC4&0&0008: ATI FireGL V3400
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_71F2&SUBSYS_2B031002&REV_00\4&38C29EC4&0&0108: ATI FireGL V3400 Secondary

Changed ATI_cpl to CCP and the problem still exists. There is a reluctance to slipstream dotnet framework in our environment, but if this is necessary to be able to use these boards then in it must go. I am creating a new build at present and will report back when this has been tested.

dotnet framework now slipstreamed. The error at logon has now gone - which has obviously been corrected by dnfw.

The other error during DPS_Fnshr still exists
http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l150/tazmaniandevil_1503/DSC00016.jpg
Apologies for the sh1tty cellphone photo. The OK button needs to be clicked twice to get past this message.

Any ideas?

We have an evaluation machine with and Intel G965 mobo and Ati FireGL V3400

During the DPSFnshr, a window pops up which requires attention.
The window title is: 126
The message is: C:\bin\atiidxx.dll
DPSFinisher is unable to complete until OK has been clicked.
On logon, an error message appears.
The error title is: CLI.EXE
The message is: The application failed to initialize properly (0X0000135). Click OK to terminate.

I have tried searching but have been unable to find any other threads with this error. I got an error when I tried to insert the DPSFnshr.log - the post was too long.

OK solved it. It's almost the same as the solution here (http://www.msfn.org/board/lofiversion/i … 66886.html).
I copied the contents of the %program files%\Sigmatel\C-Major Audio\WDM into the D\S\S\U folder. This has fixed the drivers for our current build, but I have yet to test other hardware with this driver set.

Thanks for everyone's help. These drivers make my life so much easier.

The driver appears to be installed OK. It shows up in device manager, but is greyed out in control panel.

As far as I am aware, the difference is the front panel audio header on the board, and the audio control software. Ours have the legacy AC97 front panel audio header, and the first driver has some Intel audio control. The second driver has Sigmatel audio control.
Drivers 3 & 4 are for boards where no front panel audio header exists, 3 has Intel audio control, 4 has Sigmatel audio control.
In fairness, the front audio is rarely used, but I have another machine where the front audio header is disconnected and the sound does not work at all. I can only assume that the header loops back in some way.

Thanks

5.10.5208_XP32_XP64_MCE_2K_AC97FP_IAS.EXE is the one we are using for manual install.

I did a search for the intel 945 issue, but did not find any results. Could you please let me know how you fixed this?

Thanks

The problem appears to be with the

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7680&SUBSYS_80860606&REV_1032\4&2595F9D2&0&0201: SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC

device driver. The 'sounds and audio devices' control panel applet have the SigmaTel Audio device listed but greyed out until the driver install is manually run.

Thanks

All DP's working in current build - except sound on Intel 945GTP mobo. The driver seems to install OK, but the entry in the 'sound' control panel applet is greyed out.
Driver shows up in device manager etc. but sound does not work.
A manual install of the driver installs an Intel control applet andallows sound to work.
There appears to be a KTD exception for the driver in DPsFnshr.ini - Any ideas?
