Topic: [PROB]SigmaTel High Definition Audio Driver

This SigmaTel driver is what comes with the Gateway machines that my employer has been purchasing for the past few months.  For whatever reason the SigmaTel drivers in the Sound B pack don't detect our sound devices.  Here's a link to the driver that I have to download after Windows is done loading.  http://support.gateway.com/support/driv … =169930974  Thanks for your time everyone, and keep up the good work.

Hi eethball, I know it doesn't work, people have been posting about it for months sad

Re: [PROB]SigmaTel High Definition Audio Driver

If this is the prob where the Sigmatel High Def Audio Codec appears in device manager, but the sound device does not work, the workaround/fix is quite easy.
All you need to do is add the files from the wdm folder in %program files%\sigmatel\c-major audio folder to the driver pack - or create a 3rd party driver pack with just this set of files in.
More details here if this is any help. I have found I need to add new files almost every time we get a shipment of computers delivered, all with supposedly identical hardware.
