Topic: Update checker asks "Where did you get that?"

I have just downloaded the latest RyanVM packs, and was about to start updating my source, so decided to run the Bâshrat the Sneaky update checker in case any new packs had been released since I last checked.
The update checker says "Where did you get that?" next to every driver pack.

I only ever download driverpacks etc. from http://www.driverpacks.net/ so find this a bit odd.
Has anyone else had this problem? I tried searching, but didn't find anything.

Re: Update checker asks "Where did you get that?"

I got the same thing.
I also can't get to any of the driver packs either as well as a new Base.

IE7 and Fx both just load a blank page.

Maybe they are doing maintenance on the site?

Re: Update checker asks "Where did you get that?"

This is the URL the UpdateChecker requests: http://driverpacks.net/UpdateChecker.php. As you can see, everything listed there is okay... perhaps it was a temporary glimpse...

And FYI, those "Where did you get that?" messages appear if you have a version newer than the last official release version.

Re: Update checker asks "Where did you get that?"

Thanks Bâshrat the Sneaky.
I just downloaded all the driverpacks again from the http://www.driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/ URL. Got the same result. If I follow the link to http://driverpacks.net/UpdateChecker.php sure enough the versions are correct.
I'm confident the DriverPacks are correct, as the slipstreamed source works perfectly.
Is it possibly because the version info is shown in '704' format, and in the Bâshrat the Sneaky update checker the version info is in '7.04' format?
Just a wild stab in the dark....

Re: Update checker asks "Where did you get that?"

Same problem here , downloaded driverpacks BASE again, got the same error ...

Re: Update checker asks "Where did you get that?"

Ditto.

Re: Update checker asks "Where did you get that?"

Might as well chime in also; same for me also.

Re: Update checker asks "Where did you get that?"

Ummm, Bâshrat the Sneaky...did you modify your websites' PHP script for the updatechecker? hmm

I'm seeing this too with the release packs.  Oddly enough, I'm no longer getting the popup complaining about the nightly DPBase.
I'm beginning to suspect you're in the middle of finalizing all the 705 packs and somehow took the updatechecker PHP script offline.

Actually, the link now is:
http://driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/UpdateTracker.php
Was that an intentional change? yikes
Your link gives a 404 error.

Re: Update checker asks "Where did you get that?"

a hard lesson I learned here is;
make TWO backups.

In a "backup" I had put back on the server, there was a  hidden character that caused this error, and it did not show up until another editor was used.
Even that editor did not let on that this was an error, but once this discrepancy was noticed I talked about it to Overflow and then fixed it.

The answer was 42?
Kind regards, Jaak.
