no offence taken... and many of our users are not native to English, I am used to that wink

the thing is we don't have any bugs...
Because of our unique usage of the 7zip application we are not exposed now,
nor would we be exposed in the future to any potential exploit of 7zip
- especially an unreported, unspecified or more likely a non existent one...

There is no benefit for us to update 7zip, and updating could cause issues with our apps.

Un7zip our custom app, is not distributed by 7zip.
and therefore is not nor would it be affected by your indicated reports...
(Un7zip is not a 7zip application - it is our own custom app)
Un7zip is extensively tested and known for a fact to be faster with the currently used 7zip dll...
I will not give that up without a valid reason.
No valid reason has been presented yet.

Since no info about the alleged exploit is available
it is most likely that it will not even affect our custom Un7zip app.
Upgrading will definitely increase the already lengthy extraction times during the DriverPacks installation.

We are glad you brought it to our attention!

But I see absolutely no reason to change anything...
At least not at this time... and certainly not based on unsubstantiated rumor.

from your link

This CVE Identifier has "Candidate" status and must be reviewed and accepted by the CVE Editorial Board before it can be updated to official "Entry" status on the CVE List. It may be modified or even rejected in the future.

It is not an official report.... "it is only a candidate and may be removed"

YOU have Still NOT provided any reliable source that indicates any problem at all, of anything at all...

not only is it not a serious vunerability... there is in fact no evidence of a vunerability at all...

Um an unsubstantiated claim with zero details about the Supposed exploit, name of offending code, payload, distribution  statistics, Removal instructions for said exploit, ect... by an AV company that is not in a top five list, carries little weight here..

Espacialy when the title of said report is "7-zip Unspecified Vulnerability". That is just a little to vague to inspire action...

Our usage with the DriverPacks is during an install from a read only media before any network conections would possably be made.

Zero exposure... (to a problem that seemingly doesn't exist anyway) Think about it for a minute...

Please do but be warned that I can't spend as much time with DriverPacks as I would think a native member should do.

None of us ever have the time our DriverPacks membership deserves wink

But the more of us who share in splitting the load the more that gets done.

IE if 100 people donated 5 minutes that is 500 minutes
- that is over 8 hours work for JakeLD to do alone ATM tongue

Ideally would like to see two or three people adopt a pack or two.

mr_smartepants has Graphics down to a science.
- I don't even want to think about anyone else for that task...
- Nobody can do the job he does with that - and XP would be dead before we could train someone wink

JakeLD has the Mass storage pack down to an art.
- I have trained a handful of people to do Mass. It is an exceedingly tough learning curve.

the rest of the packs become less difficult i would say in this order. (hard to easy)

Sound
Chipset
Lan
Wan
CPU

if we had a person kick in a few Hours a month on each of those then they could stay current.
Or if we had three people perhaps one of them would have time if the other two did not wink

as it is it takes about 3 hours to update properly, pre-test and then release to testing team.
That is per pack time the ten DriverPacks that equals 30+ hours a month.
That is a weeks worth of work per month for one guy...
or 3 hours each for ten people or 20 min each person if we had 100 wink

My dream would be to have 30 or 40 people who could kick in two or three hours every few months
Individuals might share a pack with two or three others.
By specializing and gaining experience in a pack or two each
the sub-team members might then be able to reduce the required time to update down to maybe 60~90 min or so (cut in 1/2).

I hope you are starting a trend! big_smile

Welcome to the testing team...

Hazaaa!

You will find stickies with the info you need
They are in the the previously hidden team forum, that you can now access...

In your filemane the "b" is ignored / extranious...
DP_WLAN_wnt5_x86-32_90401.7z is the correct equivilent.
however DP_WLAN_wnt5_x86-32_904b1.7z  would still work just fine wink

um... the INI is not required,
only if there are entries to be made in the file would it then be created.
again it won't hurt to have an empty one...
but it's just excess baggage if there are not entries wink
- it strikes me as odd that there are not any entries...
i would think at least one wireless adapter would need its console or app installed???

Perhaps we can talk you into joining the packs team in the near future?

Thanks for reporting

there are some much more recent posts about this... i belive they are in the testing team area wink...

well we put all of our final DriverPacks through tough testing before release.

Since we DO have All mass drivers supported and also have no problems reported and we get one millon downloads a week wink

I sadly must report your source is full of Bologna.

They are totaly solid as presented.  ( Or they would still be test packs wink )

DriverPack MassStorage 901 has been out since January so 16 million users have not had a single issue... look for yourself

Since most of our audience is not the home user most of these downloads represent company deployments. (multiple installs per download)

I am confident in advising you that there will be no stability gain in pruning mass storage.

Yeaaaa! Everything go smoothly I assume? hmm

Hey Dad!... Are we there yet wink. lol

If drivers were all written well and had clear, uniform, viable standards then we could release every day...
We don't live in that universe at the moment wink - But we hope to someday ! big_smile

Until then we just have to massage them into working DriverPacks -
that usually means many failed runs - post wait for a tester to report - back to the drawing board - repeat...

We can always use more testers and I have given up trying to get help with the packs.
If it were not for Mr_smartepants and JakeLD there would be no updates at all wink (thanks a million you two)

Keep your eyes peeled they will be released soon I am sure (er hope) wink

We don't like to have support issues with our releases... and we have a darned good average wink

Anytime !

Were plodding away at it... don't loose hope! big_smile

he posted some code in the thread he linked to in his first post...
It was incomplete and non functional... but he posted it wink

First thing his script does is copy DriverPacks to c:\ALI\DriverPacks smile
Not implying at all he was pirating or riding any coat-tails mind you...
But he definitely reeked of the me, me, me thing right out of the chute for sure
my first impression was seems like a 12 YO thing to do
Many of the lines in his code were blatantly plagerized
Let's just say the bad vibes started with the very first post.
Then he can't figure out what the finisher does and flatly refuses to look it up??? (teenager again)

this killed me...
"I am guest, you should treat me as such"

No Buddie, you joined. You were a 'member' NOT a 'guest'.
Guests can't post wink.
Once you joined you became a Co-Host big_smile.
That means you have to serve yourself... and cleanup after yourself... We are not your mom or your maid.
Being a member is a privilege and can be revoked - this apparently was an oversight on your part.

Yeah I did not let him drag me into the Race/Religion/Region mire
- It has no place here
- that is a desperation ploy, let's try and make this about something else since I'm loosing. (bad parenting)
- lets make this philisophical yeah thats it, yeah thats the ticket, they will forget my sillyness if i go there!

I too really liked the way Gollum addressed that issue...

It is really so unlike him... we must be a GOOD INFLUENCE on him LOL

he said he was posting over at msfn... I'm not too worried

Wim was laughed off msfn 5 years ago... wink
They told him that DriverPacks was impossable and he was a lunatic... wink tongue big_smile
How did it come into existance? (A brief history)

Somehow he managed to have the last laugh... DriverPacks is more than a little successful...

The point is EVERYONE over there knows what the score is here... wink
One loudmouth will not sway the members who already know who we are and what we are about.
I doubt he will get much sympathy from any of our sister sites...

He just keeps digging the hole deeper and deeper... Let him dig wink

you don't listen (or read apparently)

Lots of people write programs. Some write better than me. (You are not one of them.)
You act like i am scared of competition... you make me laugh...
#1 I love competition.

If you had taken the time to look around.
which you haven't,
you would have noticed that I have time and time again had no problem with people writing their own versions of things or providing third party addons. I linked you to one of them silly boy. We even host some files for contributors (just not for thieves and pirates) Your arguments have no merit. History proves you wrong.

You are just so fuÇking stupid I can't put words to it... OK grrr this is absolutely the last hint you get.
re: Your ridiculous theory about SAD and competition.
Remember our forum... you know DriverPacks... the one you have not even bothered to browse through....
there is an individual who writes a tool like the dp_inst_tool and your script
WE HOST HIS FILES...
and have given him space to support his app on our forum!
We LIKE people who contribute... We like it a lot!
In point of fact we are 'driven' by our contributors, me included.

You need to get it through your head...
         YOU are the problem
not the work you are trying to do...
works are not evil just as guns are not evil - only their users can be evil... or good
You or any other pirate will be shunned at DriverPacks

improving SAD is a good thing

Pirating windows is BAD...
You admitted and condoned piracy
Anyone can read your posts... You admitted it twice. Then you defended doing it!

- We have ALWAYS had a ZERO tolerance for Pirates

* Not just you. * ANY and ALL pirates are banned *

I call them like I see them. You are loathsome, and a thief, and a pirate, and you're ignorant.
I HATE each of these things individually and you posses all of them.
I did not include rude in that list because I was rude to you,
however it should be noted that
I am only rude to people who are disrespectful and or inconsiderate,
and You are both.

You have not read one post here other than the ones in this thread...
Sorry i have no time for you if you can't bother to read what is already posted and well documented.
WE ARE NOT HERE TO SPOON FEED YOU
It is quite obvious you have done NO reading or research here at all (or seemingly anywhere else either)
You desire for people to think you know more than you actually do and you're not winning that battle

they have a term for people like you they call them trolls...

DO WHATEVER YOU WANT. BUT YOU ARE  NOT  WELCOME HERE!

Here is the way I see it -
If you and your kind bought their copies of windows then MS would be able to charge less per copy.
perhaps you have not been educated in supply and demand economics yet?
What this means is the rest of us who hold legitimate licenses had to buy YOUR copy.
You have actually stolen from me personaly and anyone else who has a legit license...

Is your file actually an exe?
i know for a fact that autoit programs will fail at this point in winpe...

Sir... We are not the Pirates nor do we engage in illegal activitys...

you are a thief with no shame or morals. That is why you are the enemy.
you should show remorse for your actions yet you do not.
you claim stealing is both illegal and immoral yet you do not stop or feel bad about your theft and redistribution.

for this we should give you some kind of medal? Sorry NO...

In many countries they cut the hands off of thiefs... I think that is a little execessive.
However, short of that anything is fair.

We do not make friends with thieves nor pirates nor terrorists...
We believe in Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness
- so long as you abide by the law - and you are a non law abider.

The link has been repaired... wink

Kangaroo inards responsable for flameout LOL

and they were just starting to get a handle on the bird problem

You can  NOT  add the DriverPacks mass storage drivers with nLite.

It is a bad idea to add ANY of the DriverPacks with nLite...
although a few of the drivers will work, quite a few will not...

If you could do this with nLite, then we would not be here wink

YES, DriverPacks BASE program slipstreams drivers to Windows XP SP3 text mode...
and for win2k and win2k3 as well...

Tutorial in my signature.
Please read that, as well as read before you post in my signature. TIA

Welcome to DriverPacks and have a nice day!

Jeff

You should be able to put your commands at the top of presetup... IF...

you are not installing to the same folder.

if the old folder is c:\windows you will need to use c:\winnt (or similar)

does that help?
