Hi,
there is a big bug when QSC is turned OFF in method1, and tiny bugs when QSC is turned OFF in method 2.
You may want to read the tutorial in my signature, it has some background information as well.

Last night I finally explored the possibilities "utility spotlight" offers.
I used a copy of WLAN, edited a couple INF and disabled a few HWIDs by commenting them.
The SED scripts we used would export "commented" HWIDs, but this utility does NOT.
It also goes a long way in making the output really useful because it has:
1; fixed number or colums. (a folder location is a single "word", not a varying number of words)
2; the possibility to show driver version
3; the possibility to show the platform the driver is for.
4; it can handle PCI, USB, display, etc..
(our first SED tool only did PCI from *.INF. I had also made one for scanning *.OEM. I had one for USB, one for monitor..)
The utility has an INI and a CMD script one can preconfigure.
The full option list is this.
"FullPath","Class","Provider","DriverVer","Manufacturer","Model","TargetOSVersion","PNPID","PNPIDType","Description"
I still have to figure out whether it also scans files like txtsetup.OEM
But, it is a very useful tool, and I should have looked at it many months ago.

Re: Intel DQ965GF Chipset & Marvell 61xx Marvell RAID Controller (3 replies, posted in DriverPack Chipset)
hi
the marvell drivers do not have that detail in the driver, which makes them somewhat "generic" ???
They also do NOT have subsys information, which makes them more than "somewhat" generic.
But, the CC_010* entries do show in other driver INFs, and driver's INF have details on AHCI or RAID.
in the past, I have removed generic INTEL HWID from an adaptec card driver which had specifics for the adaptec.
In this Marvel case, they are all generic.
Your solution works, and I doubt we can do little to fix it.
what you could perhaps also do is this.
If the intel is newer, edit the INTEL driver for this (adding specific HWID to it so it wins).
If it is older, I am afraid a newer generic will win.

all TRendnet drivers we once had became obsolete (supported by other newer drivers) and that is not a bad thing then, eh?.

Re: Testers needed for new Graphics driverpacks (226 replies, posted in DriverPack Graphics)
Hi
the CAT files have HWID information in them too.. do a right-click for properties, and you see what I mean.
edit, the latest driver for 865G drops two HWIDs we only have in i\5
[Intel.Mfg]
;%iMGM% = i852GM, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3582 ; duped by a still newer
%iSDG% = i865G, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2572 ;is newest (but drops two HWIDs)
;%iGDGD0% = i915G0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2582 ; duped by a still newer
;%iGDGD1% = i915G1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2782 ; duped by a still newer
;%iALVD0% = i915GM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2592 ; duped by a still newer
;%iALVD1% = i915GM1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2792 ; duped by a still newer
;%iLPGD0% = i945G0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2772 ; duped by a still newer
;%iLPGD1% = i945G1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2776 ; duped by a still newer
if we intend to update i\5 we would have to actually add the driver rather than update it.
That would mean another intel for these two
[Intel.Mfg]
%i830M% = i830M, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3577
%iBKDG% = i845G, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2562
;%iSDG% = i865G, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2572 ; duped by a still newer
a right mess, right?
Let us suppose that intel are generic ones, and that we slap in all the newest drivers for DELL's.
If DELL use generic HWIDs, and use OEM-modified chips, we could create a lot of problems.
I don't mind looking at them, tho.

Re: WLan : Sis163, RT61 (9 replies, posted in Feedback and Support - DriverPacks Base)
voila, WLAN DriverPack is updated.
the D-Link site did not mention the revision C.
I then compared the Hardware IDs in the Dlink and SiS and looked at the Ralink drivers, and so on.
What computer did you get those drivers off?
The Atheros update added a good few HWIDs.

Re: How do I strip down a driver and fix broken ones in unattended setup? (1 replies, posted in Feedback and Support - DriverPacks Base)
hi
in the latest sound A driverpack 7.09 all X64 files were removed.
DPsBase itself has never supported X64 slipstream.
(actually, a good many of the late 7.08x and all 7.09 releases have had files removed for windows 9x and X64...)
Once it was made clear X64 was never going to be done by Bâshrat the Sneaky, we sorta started removing files that are not used to get the packs smaller.

Re: HP-dv9373ea Wlan (8 replies, posted in DriverPack WLAN)
hmmm,
after I said bluetooth is not WLAN, I read that some bluetooth devices have a WLAN driver included.
When we decided to move the dell belkin USB wireless modem to wlan, that was after we saw ndis5 driver in those drivers.
In any case, this one here is an internal device, so we better look inside the files.

Hi
DriverPacks does not have the 2003 system file in the Pack.
(location [P-1])
the 2003 should go to D\M\P\1\k3

(note that the site shows V2.0.0.33 but the three downloads do have 2.0.0.34)

Re: HP-dv9373ea Wlan (8 replies, posted in DriverPack WLAN)
hi
bluetooth is not WLAN.
The third party driver gurus should figure out what to do with bluetooth.
They may put all the bluetooth they have in a package one day.
So, the answer to Alaturka is simple.
Make a folder and put the driver in it.
Then use 7zip, and make a tiny 3rd party pack.
Follow the DriverPack standardised naming for that.
For instance;
DP_bluetooth_wnt5_x86-32_0709.7z
Put that in the 3rd party folder, and run DPsBase.
