Moved to "other".
If you look at the Intel chipset "drivers" you'll notice that there are no .sys files (other than USB), so really there are no "drivers". The signed .inf files only add registry entries so that the system knows what to call all those "unknown device" items in the device manager for the devices in your motherboard. Just because the chipset package can identify your Mass Storage device, doesn't mean it's operating at peak efficiency. That's what the RST drivers do.
Having an imbalance of version numbers isn't a problem in itself.
I think you're looking too deep into a non-existent problem.
If you have a problem with the RST driver, post your report in the appropriate thread.
If you have no problems with the provided drivers, then ultimately...there is no problem.
Bit Torrent is now our sole means of distribution. Our donations dropped to a level that would no longer sustain the website and download demands.
High-speed dedicated download servers are expensive and were the first to go. Then we lost our donated CDN bandwidth.
Greed killed the DriverPacks downloads. Bit Torrent is now our only option left.
OK, I'm on it.

Me too!
This will be incorporated into the next dpms release (11.04/11.05)
Thanks Galapo!
Replace all the files in folder \I8\ with the new drivers.
We only use official releases from the vendors. We never use drivers from station-drivers unless there is absolutely no other source.
Once an official release by Intel is available, we'll update to that version, not sooner.
You're the first person to report a problem with the Intel RST drivers. Are you sure it's not a problem with your implementation?

The fix for this is documented many times:

NOTE: You must apply the Microsoft Storport update before installing or upgrading the driver. Windows Server 2003 SP2 (or later) requires Microsoft fixes KB932755 and KB939315 (or later). Windows Server 2003 SP1 requires Microsoft fixes KB932755 and KB939315 (or later). For Boot from SAN installation, use the Windows 2003 SP2 first, then apply the KB update
I'm going to comment out the entire [Q3] section of the .ini. I'll leave it up to individuals to enable the txtmode feature or not.
Old thread, marking as "solved"
This SHOULD be fixed in 11.04r1 (in work)
Implemented for 11.04r1 (11.04 final)
BTW, I found the 1.2.1 drivers at Asus.

Before anyone asks, yes, I'm already aware of the new Intel 9.2.0.1030 chipset WHQL drivers.

@TechDud, I didn't get a chance to update the changelog with my test results. I will for 11.05

I try to sticky all requests so they're easier for me to find. Once implemented, I un-sticky them

@TechDud. LOL Nice one

No need. This is a known issue and has been for months. We even have it stickied in the FAQ (Which I recommend you read).

Arggh. I had downloaded them but forgot to add them. I've been swamped with work lately.
I'll try to add them in for a 11.05 release. Best bet is to create new threads with [REQ]*** in the title for each pack (XP & Win7) so it's easier to track.
Yes, many have already done that. Search the forums.
